With the Goblin attack, Thaurea will try to grapple North x. "Damn! Again, I´m trying to help! It´s my last call, Let´s talk, for the holy green! Don´t force me to kill you, little creature!" She shoult starting to get annoyed.
(DM: Yep, that's going to happen now! North 2 rushes in, failing an Acrobatics check to dodge any Grapple)
Ignoring the massive Goliath, and running head-first into trouble, the brash Goblin attempts to slash at Thaurea'sshins with his rust covered shortsword. As they stumble out of the thicket and take one small step for Goblinkind, the towering Goliath scoops them up in a single-handed grapple, holding them at bay as they scream in guttural Goblin.
As these scenes unfold, the last Goblin to move shakes, they gulp a nervous gulp, their shortsword slowly lowering in abject terror. Seeing a no-win scenario, the Goblin drops their weapon and bolts down the embankment, hopping over one of the dead horses and begins running up the other side towards the Southern woods...
Order: Thomar, South 2, Thaurea, South 1, North 2, North 1, Ashleigh
Rushing along the trail and stopping short of the two horses, the Sorcererforms a frigid and frosty white beam of arcane energy, firing it at the fleeing Goblin. As the creature scrambles up the embankment, they trip, and the ray of frost skims over their head, striking a tree on the encroaching forest.
Order: Thomar, South 2, Thaurea, South 1, North 2, North 1, Ashleigh
Thomar sees that those goblins are already maybe pretty scared, still holding his shield on guard. “Listen, it’s only 3 of you left, we have people in our wagon, they just didn’t want to bother to fight you. My sword attack, it was just a warning blow. If you want to live, please, fold your arms, answer our questions, and you may live and maybe even leave soon.”
(OOC:I don’t know if I need to roll persuation, but in case in 17)
(DM: Apologies, I swear I had replied to the thread, had a reply all written out but must have close browser before posting!!)
An almost beastial snarl emits from the goblin closet to Thomar, their bow dropping to the floor as they reached for a sharpened metal bar, "Filthy Dwarf!!" it shouts in Common as it rushes towards the Paladin. The metal bar, nothing more than sharpened scrap metal with a piece of cloth for a makeshift handle, is easily knocked aside by the superior combat's shield, the goblin struggling to stay on it's feet at the parry.
(DM: Attack: 7 To Hit vs 18 AC, miss!)
Meanwhile the other goblin stood near Thomarcontinues to shake. One goblin in the grip of a Goliath, one goblin being overwhelmed by an armored Dwarf, and another running for the woods in terror. The goblin sobs, "P-Please, no more fight!" dropping their shortbow.
Order: Thomar, South 2 (fighting Thomar), Thaurea, South 1 (panicking / sobbing), North 2 (grappled by Thaurea), North 1 (running for woods), Ashleigh
"Very well, very well! Let's talk then! All agreed?" - Thaurea looks at the other two Goblins and at Thomar, hoping they are in favor of the proposal. "First of all, someone shouts to calls your friend back. There's no need for anyone to run away and it's not good for him to be alone in the woods! I'm going to let your friend go, but I can break his neck with my bare hands if you attack us again, you know that, right? And I don't want do this, please..." She says as lifts the Goblin that has been grabbing a bit off the ground.
So, who are you and why did you attack us? And why did you kill that beautiful animal?"She asks with an anguished look as she glances at the fallen horse. " The truth, please, we already saw that it was your arrows that hit him " "Who's first?" She asks looking at the Goblin she has grabbed, with a smile both sarcastic and sympathetic, while releases him.
(Thaurea will hold her action to attack in case of any Goblin decide to atack. If they be peacefully, she will investigate the horse)
(OOC: Sorry guys! Rough weekend. I missed the notification and didn't realize it was my turn!)
(DM: No problem! That's what PbP is good for, not all requiring to be online at same time / day :D)
As the Goliath speaks, the trembling golbin in front of her nods eagerly, clearly not wanting to suffer from a bad case of a broken neck. Meanwhile, the fleeing goblin reaches the woods and disappears, not caring to hear anything, singlemindedly focused on their own survival. Sobbing, the goblin that dropped their bow continues to shake, but slowly backs away towards the woods, curiously to the same place the fleeing goblin went.
The creature released by Thaureagulps, too close to her to flee, they decide on another tactic, "W-We' were just here to watch out for them, best way to stop them by shoot their horses" he says with an almost hint of sympathy for the beasts...
(DM: So, the fleeing gobbo is now gone, rushed into the woods, 2 goblins are now passive, but we won't stop combat altogether just yet as the one nearest Thomar is pretty steadfast in their want to fight back!)
Order: Thomar, South 2 (fighting Thomar), Thaurea, South 1 (sobbing, slowly backing towards woods), North 2 (next to Thaurea), Ashleigh
Next: Ashleigh!
On Deck (i.e. someone whose turn it is next so just be aware): Thomar!
Thomar stairs into the goblin that is near, seeing that he is still kinda eager to fight, and says: "I know that you can understand our language, and you still value your life, so if you don't want us to end it, drop your weapon and we can talk. Who told you to stop them? Two people that were riding those horses, where did they go?" Intimidation4(T_T)
(DM: Thomar, your intimidate is unsuccessful, unfortunately :D)
The goblin squaring off with Thomarsnarls, their grip on the metal spike tight, "Filthy Dwarfs, I ain't saying nothing!!" they spit, their mouth frothing. Swiping once again with their crude weapon, and once again meeting the unyielding defense of the Paladin, this time the shock of metal on metal causing the goblin to recoil and drop their improvised weapon. Seeing the metal fly through the air and down the embankment, the goblin smiles a broken-toothed grin at Thomar, "Ummm... friends? This our favourite ambush spot, it is, boss told us to keeps a look out for Dwarf, so we did, and get 'im!" he seems gleeful, while wringing his now-empty hands...
(DM: Attack: 1! To Hit vs 18 AC, critical miss!)
Order: Thomar, South 2 (fighting Thomar), Thaurea, South 1 (backing towards woods), North 2 (next to Thaurea), Ashleigh
Since the Gobbo attacked, I will use my hold action to try to reach and grapple South 1. With my action, I will investigate the horse. Athletics12 Investigation19
If the grapple is successful, I will carry South1 dangling to the horse "Where are you going, little creature? We still have questions..."
If the grapple is unsuccessful, Thaurea mutters to North2: "Your friends are making me mad!"
(DM: Yeah, makes sense; we'll say that you brought "your" goblin down the embankment and as the goblin attacks Thomaryou make an attempt to grab the other, which is unfortunately a miss!)
The Goliath, upon seeing the feisty goblin continue to attack Thomar, reaches for the scared creature slowly backing towards the woods. The panic coursing through their body causes them to jerk and twitch as Thaureagrabs at them, ducking and falling backwards before scurrying into the woods almost on all-fours. With the subdued goblin solidly following blindly, and the more aggressive of it's friends now disarmed, the Druid turns back towards the horses, muttering to the small goblin accompanying her.
The two dead horses, pin-cushioned by black-feathered arrows, lay crumpled from the clear ambush. Thaureainspects more closely, seeing that the saddle bags and other packs have all been looted, noticeably an empty map case lies nearby. There is also evidence of the two riders being dragged off the road, and to the South...
(DM: So, South 2 is unarmed and seemingly soothed, North 2 is subdued and following Thaureaplacidly, and South 1 goblin has now also escaped, also via the same spot in the woods the first did...
This means that combat is concluded, if anything happens to cause it to rekindle then we'll revert to old order, but for now feel free to RP and post away!! Great job!)
Thaurea shouts to his colleagues: "Hey fellows, they looted and, by the tracks left, dragged the riders in that direction. she says pointing to the South. "There is a map case here, but it is empty" I think we should follow the tracks and try to help them. Our new friends certainly could help us, hmm,"she tells looking to the goblins that are left, while grabs her rope to tie then.
(DM: Sounds good; how are you tying them up? Are they bound just by hands and then Thaurea is keeping them held, like a dog leash?)
Going along with the huge Goliath, both goblins look a little defeated. One hangs their head, not saying a word, the other nods slowly as they look up at Thaurea.
(DM: When you're moving out, let me know the marching order; the woods are fairly dense, so enough room for mostly single-file walking)
Thaurea ties them under the arms with a slipknot, so that if they try to get loose, the knot become even tighter.
She checks the goblins to see what they have - mostly to make sure they don't have any kind of knife or anything else that could be used to cut the rope. (She takes any weapon that they have) investigation 18 "I don't want to hurt you, but I can't risk you running away like your friends, right?"She says, calmly to the gobbos. She ties them loosely enough not to hurt, but leaving no space for a possible escape.
"We need to find the riders and the looted material and continue our journey. I hope that you can help us." says Thaurea as she adjusts the knots.
"Cheer up! If all goes well, I'll give you 5sp each when we arrive and soon we'll be in a tavern laughing at this situation", And she pats the more upset goblin on the shoulder.
"Thomar, Ash, what do you think about going? Our friends go ahead, since they must know these paths better than us and soon we find the riders." Thaurea asks her colleagues then, she back to the Goblins. "By the way, I'm Thaurea, and what are your names?"
(OOC I thought maybe Ash wanted to suggest something) I agree with you, but perhaps we need to have a small look around while we approach the place where they hide our "clients", and if there are more goblins, to use our captured goblins as bait. Just to lure more goblins out, what do you think?

"Yes, I also think we should be careful. My suggestion is that our new friends go a little ahead of us. They are well tied and go tied around my waist, so I have my hands free. You and Ash have ranged weapons, right? You can come right behind, and that way we can hit enemies from a distance. And if they try to attack us, our friends also helped us, after all they don't want to get hurt, aren´t ...? Says Thaurea in a way the goblins hear, as if they're part of the team, but with a tone that shows she still doesn't trust them. What's your name again, my little ones?
