Rolas steps back a little ways, obviously sizing up just how sturdy the door might be. He turns to Bram, "No need for lockpicking when there's no lock. I could just have a go at putting my foot through it if those Goblins are far enough away not to hear. What do you think?"
Xorben moves over to check the door to see if it opens inward or outward. He whispers, "If it's outward, we can block it. Deal with the patrols and then deal with the inside piecemeal if we are lucky."

"What about what Rolas said earlier, about trying to negotiate? We aren't really just going to start killing people at random over a pie recipe, are we? Maybe some of us should talk to the guards and the rest stay here to block the door if things go badly?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"If you want to negotiate then go ahead, but if they raise blades against us then I am all for striking them down"says Bram. He then circles the house to see if their is a back door or a cellar door of some kind.
Xorben whispers, "I'm ok with negotiations, but I'm not good with words so best someone else do that. Negotiation might ruin any chance of surprise we might have too. If you think you can chat it out of them, go for it. I'll be ready to assist you and if needed get frosty with them."
Fianna heads off in the opposite direction the guards were headed (ie. If they are circling town clockwise, she's circling counter-clockwise) in order to approach them from the front and not startle them.
Going the opposite direction around the building, you turn the corner to find no goblins. As you turn the back corner, you see 4 goblins sitting, apparently having a rest at the back of the house. They see you and scramble to their feet, pulling our their crude swords. They seem nervous, and unsure of what to do next.

Three of the goblins stand there, mouths agape and scratching their heads. Then one of them speaks to his comrades, in Goblin as far as you can tell. Then he turns to you. "I talk human some. Why you here?"

There are a few windows, including a large front bay window, but all seem covered from the inside.

"Fine," Fianna says with a shrug, "anyone coming with me?"
The doors do open inward, and seem to be barred from the inside. You can try a strength check to beak in, if you like.

Xorben makes minimal movements to show he's not a threat and will follow Fianna's lead to support her.

"Hello there! Does anyone speak Common," Fianna asks with a friendly wave.
"We were hoping we could ask you a question."
Bram will follow discretely and join in if there is a fight

"We're looking for a piece of paper in the building. Says how to cook food. We'll trade for it if we find it."
"No fighting. Okay?"
Xorben smiles and keeps his hands visible and non threatening.

You should make an intimidation or persuasion check. Sorry it took so long for this response - crazy work this week.
