Finally, he will want to ask about his sister's status. Due to his backstory, the only way he can do this right now is by sending a letter to any trusting contact he may have made during his short time in the Quivering Forest. He doesn't expect much info, really. Knowing that her status remains the same as when he left the Forest will be enough.
Auriel's contact to the Quivering Forest is a ranger who lives on the outskirts of the forest named Serelis. Serelis is one of the very few who is able to make any contact at all within the forest, as the tenuous and historic truce between the fey of the forest and the town of Phlan is extremely well guarded, and the rules of that truce are very simple: Do not disturb the Quivering Forest and the fey will be willing to protect Phlan the next time they are called upon. The trip to Greenhall from the forest's edge takes three full days, which means Serelis is presumably on his way back as Auriel's downtime concludes.
Auriel would have written that letter the very first day the party arrived at Phlan. Even before starting to look for a temple where he could swear his oath. Once arrived at the Laughing Goblin he asks the bartender or waiter (Imizael and Fat Mar, he gathers) for some paper and ink, and where he can take the letter so it can be sent as soon as possible. Thanking whoever of them helps him, he'll sit at the bar counter and write the following with impeccable handwriting.
"Serelis,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. How are things at the Quivering Forest? Nothing out of the ordinary, I expect? Any forest creature giving you trouble lately, or is it still the other way round?"
He smiles lightly at the little inside joke, and keeps writing.
"Have you seen my parents and sister lately? I imagine they remain the same as when I left - them, bitter; she, unresponsive. And the three of them in deep Winter - but knowing that they are safe in the Forest would put my heart at ease. I'm in Phlan for the time being, at the Laughing Goblin Inn.
Thank you. Be safe.
Auriel"
As he finishes, he remembers the rangers at his former house, who would send fey sparrowhawks whenever the family needed to contact anyone. Everyone in Feywild knew better than to enter the forests if it could be avoided, and as such, the summoned birds helped achieve the purpose perfectly, and in a safer way. How he wishes he could do the same now. Any bird would be way quicker than this letter. And those hawks were particularly beautiful, with their purple and black feathers and the intelligent look in their starry eyes.
OOC: Oh, OK. I gotcha. I'll watch out for that. In that case, Sylyra pays little to no attention to Auriel.
