Sylyra, stepping past the lizardfolk felled by Hex, calls forth thick weeds and vines from the ground nearby the remaining lizardfolk and Bogclaw. The brief distraction provides Carlthuzad with the opening to quickly disappear from view and move further away from the would-be lizard king, peppering him with another bolt of eldritch energy. The vines fail to hold both lizardfolk, and Bogclaw rips free of one grasping vine to search for his next target. Choosing to back up his lone remaining soldier, Uragum has little time to celebrate the vicious wound he creates with his shadowy blade against his opponent. Goliath and lizard king tower together in the center of the fray, Bogclaw attempting to provide Uragum with Auriel's sudden fate.
Round 4Order: Players <===== Enemies
Placement: Carlthuzad ===60 feet === Uragum/Lizardfolk/Bogclaw === 30 feet === Auriel=== 25 feet === Sylyra === 35 feet ===Hex Uragum is engaged with the lizardfolk and Bogclaw in melee combat.
Tracking: Bogclaw is wounded. The lizardfolk attacking Uragum is severely wounded and affected by faerie fire.
Auriel is unconscious and dying (0 successes, 1 failure). Uragum is severely wounded. Hex is lightly wounded and has used 2 arrows.
Cursing as his spell fails to halt Bogclaw in its tracks, Sylyra continues toward Auriel. He kneels beside the fallen elf and rolls him over. Dropping his staff, Sylyra takes a potion bottle from his belt, uncorks it, lifts Auriel's head, and carefully drains the potion into the paladin's pursed lips. As Auriel's eyes begin to flutter, Sylyra smiles cheekily down at him, the long curtains of his white-blonde hair brushing against Auriel's cheeks and chin. "Wakey, wakey, Sunshine." He picks up his staff, stands, and offers a hand to Auriel to help him back to his feet.
The battered paladin grabs his weapon, which doesn't shine anymore, takes the druid's hand and as he stands up he lets out a string of curses in his native tongue. Mainly because he hates the idea of having fallen so easily to Bogclaw. Secondly, because each and every one of his muscles are hurting like hell. And a little bit too because he's sure that cheeky smiling elf will surely enjoy reminding him of how he's brought him back from almost dying. Worst of this was, the paladin has realized that he's liked waking up to that close view of Sylyra a little bit too much. He breathes deeply and says:
- Thanks. Guess I owe you big time, huh?
Immediately, Auriel places a hand on his chest to heal himself further. Then turns his attention to Bogclaw, or rather, Bogclaw's new target, and begins muttering a spell that will hopefully protect a visibly hurt Uragum from receiving fatal damage.
Action: Lay on Hands on himself (10 points). Bonus action: Sanctuary on Uragum. Movement: 10 feet towards Bogclaw, to be the closest potential target.
(OOC: Since Uragum's initiative is higher than mine, he can still attack this turn if he likes and he will still be covered by Sanctuary, at least until he attacks again next round, right?)
Hex breathes a sigh of relief as Auriel regains consciousness. She drops her scimitar to pick up her bow once again. She takes aim at the lizardfolk besides Bogclaw, hoping to pick them off before they can do anymore damage.
Carl is relieved when he sees Auriel stand, clenching his fist and smiling. He then looks quickly to Bogclaw, and focuses another bolt of eldritch energy at the beast, saying “You just don’t see, do you! Apparently that’s the only way this ends, in further violence! Stop dammit, stop!” He points his battle axe at the huge lizardfolk and the energy shoots forth, smacking him squarely in the chest.
Eldritch blast : Nat 20 + 5 = 25 to hit, for 11 points of force damage.
Carl moves to continue to circle Bogclaw, keeping his distance from him, backpedaling if needed.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Uragum, bloodied and Wounded, grips hidmagic sword with profound tenacity. He will not drop this blade while concious. He looks to Bogclaw a coughs up some blood but smiles through it all. In Draconic he says, "I'll spare you the acid and give you the blade." He then tries shove his blade into Bogclaws gut.
OOC: Regarding Auriel's sanctuary/initiative, intiative is grouped, so all players act at the same time, and all enemies act at the same time. So, even though Uragum rolled higher in initiative, there is no set order in which Auriel and Uragum take their actions. Typically I resolve actions in the order they are posted, but I allow players to hold their actions for later in the turn if they wish (which Hex takes advantage of often with Colossus Slayer, for example). In this case, Auriel can wait to take his turn until Uragum has already taken his action so that sanctuary is cast after Uragum's attack.
Holding off on narration to confirm whether Uragum would like to use Stone's Endurance, as Bogclaw's attack that is able to be made past sanctuary will do enough damage to knock him unconscious.
After Sylyra helps Auriel to his feet, the Eladrin quickly weaves a spell that causes Bogclaw to second guess his next lunge. The heir of the fallen lizard king leaps back from Uragum's arcane blade and hisses an order to the other lizardfolk - whose head then explodes, Hex's arrow buried in its skull nearly to the haft. Furious, Bogclaw rushes the goliath, accepting another eldritch blast from Carlthuzad in order to close the distance, becoming a tangle of hulking bodies. Uragum braces, but falls, gouged by Bogclaw's trident. His blade of shadow flickers on the ground beside him, then fades.
Roaring defiance to the skies, lost in the bloodlust of battle, Bogclaw charges at Auriel and Sylyra.
Carl grunts as he sees Uragum fall, a shocked look on his face, “No….” and he starts moving closer. With a face twisted full of anger, he launches another bolt of energy at Bogclaw, amazed that it does not seem to be slowed or stopped by their onslaught. He sends his unseen servant forward as well, perhaps to reposition Uragum and place him in a recovery position, to open his airway.
Eldritch blast : 10 to hit, for 6points of force damage.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Uragum clenches and hardens expecting thr blow but it still hits hard. He falls to the ground, with a grim smile. His last thoughts being of falling honorably in combat.
Seeing how Bogclaw refrains from attacking Uragum, it looks like Auriel's spell has fully worked. But when the colossal lizardfolk once again jumps at the wizard and gouges him, the paladin's expression turns from relief to frustration, and from there to anger. The eladrin had not been able to withstand Bogclaw's attacks. His magic had not been strong enough. And now the lizardfolk had knocked out one of his companions. Was Bogclaw just going to kill them all, one by one? Was Auriel going to fail to protect those close to him once again?
As the lizardfolk charges towards him and Sylyra, the paladin rushes to meet him in the hopes of gaining his undivided attention. And though Auriel doesn't notice - focused as he is in his enemy - there's a change in his physique from when he starts to run towards Bogclaw to when he finally clashes with him. The reddish hair and eyes that previously reminded of an autumn maple tree now look as golden as the sun, same as the tattoos that run across his face and body.
The summer eladrin addresses Bogclaw with rage in his voice:
- Let us finish the job, tilsin.
It could as well mean that he intends to see this lizardfolk die, by his or his companions hands. Or that he won't relent until he himself is killed. Either way, the confrontation had to end, and quickly.
OOC: The turn is Dodge (and nothing else). The word "tilsin" has been said many times when the party and the clans have been speaking, so I've taken the liberty of imagining that Auriel has been able to gather that it means "lizard". I'd say it's the only word he knows in Draconic :'D

Turning from helping Auriel to his feet, Sylyra gasps as he watches Uragum fall before Bogclaw. Sylyra's hair whips about his face as he looks back at Auriel, his eyes hard and angry. He throws the empty potion bottle at the eladrin's feet. "Melme nauva," he hisses in Elvish. He turns back just as the heir is upon them. "DIE!" the druid screams. Black translucent flames spread across his staff as he raises it and swings, aiming for the lizardfolk's head.
Hex's arrow and Carlthuzad's blast soar wide of Bogclaw's charge. Sylyra's staff, magically charged, parries the lizardfolk's trident, arcane sparks flying as Bogclaw feints another strike, instead jabbing to the side where Auriel stands ready, dancing out of the trident's range.

As every other nobleborn in his home plane, he had been trained in the ways of combat since he was just a child. And he's seen every kind of fighter there could be. There were stronger and weaker fighters. Those whose technique was more refined, or less so. There were the ones that allowed the fight to go as smoothly as if they were dancing instead of fighting. A dance to the death - even if it were a training combat - but a dance after all. And finally, there were the ones that didn't allow their counterparts to do their job. Those that didn't want to win the fight, but rather, not lose it. And so, they tried to keep as near their counterparts as possible, thus not allowing them to execute their techniques. Auriel disliked that kind of fights deeply. But if this was the way they could defeat Bogclaw, then Tyr be his judge, he would fight that way.
So he kept as close to Bogclaw as possible to take away from him the space he needed to handle his trident comfortably. Perhaps the paladin didn't need to win that particular fight, only not to loose it.
"Melme nauva". Those two words kept resounding in his mind as all of this was happening. But the eladrin just gritted his teeth and kept focusing on the giant in front of him.
OOC: So let's keep Auriel stuck to Bogclaw like glue, while he Dodges.

Sylyra hisses through clenched teeth as his weapon fails to make contact with Bogclaw's scaly hide. His eyes can't help but flit toward the body of Uragum. Despite the mud and the muck, he can see the blood. So much blood. Is he still breathing? He has to still be breathing! Seeing Auriel hunker down, Sylyra can't help but feel a tinge of regret for his words. The elf had courage and tenacity. It might be enough.
The druid slams the butt of his staff into the ground at his feet and does a kind of spin. Reminiscent of some of the more graceful moves he would pull on the dancefloors of Waterdeep, he glides around and behind Bogclaw so that the giant is between the two elves. Throwing out a quick spell in Druidic and depleting a big chunk of his magic, Sylyra lifts his staff once again in the air and swings it in Bogclaw's direction.
Movement: Not leaving melee; just moving around to Uragum's side of Bogclaw. I know we don't use flanking in your campaigns.
