The swarm manages to mostly avoid Kathra's swing as they slip through the air around her hefty blade, however, the lightning arcs that accompany Kathra's attack do manage to zap two of the little creatures and they fall to the ground wriggling in short little jolts before becoming inert.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
Peren's shot seems to wound a few of the fishy swarm as it passes through their numbers, though not as many as you would have liked.
End of Round Wrap-up:
Gavin got zapped for 8 lightning damage.
Between Mub and Mirabel, one swarm has been utterly destroyed.
Mirabel got zapped for 15 lightning damage.
Kathra whiffed on the second swarm but got in some consolation damage.
Peren managed a solid shot doing a little damage.
The remaining swarm is currently surrounding Mirabel and has effectively taken 5 total damage (seems they have some resistance to normal weapons, being a swarm of tiny creatures).
Round two start! Gavin, you're up, then I'll take Mub's turn for him as Wednesdays are his off-days when he's away from technology.
Gavin will finish swimming to shore and make it onto the bank by the item (5 ft from it), but not pick it up. Gonna let the team take the rest out since I am basically half naked and helpless. Keeping an eye out for anything else approaching.
Maybe it's the cool water of the mountain river or the energetic jolt from the fish monsters, but as you pull yourself to shore and look around, you see the world with an utter clarity like never before. The slight drizzle of rain highlights your friends in a light splattering aura; you catch the scent of ozone in the air as the fish-creatures warp and weave around Mirabel; for the fist time you really get a good look at the monsters and notice that their form is more seal-like than fish, but impossibly tiny and scaled with a latticework of shimmery hardened flakes of skin; on the ground near you, you can still feel the magical pull of the object, and you see it clearly for the first time as a hand-sized chunk of black stone shaped in strange concentric cube-like structures, not unlike bismuth. Other than the struggle before your friends, you don't spy any other troubles. Your moment of clarity passes as a short "qhy" sound issues forth from your erstwhile avian friend, who appears to be readying to shoot some more arrows into the swarm.
Mub's first longbow attack vs. AC: 22, 11 piercing damage.
Mub's second longbow attack vs. AC: 28, 5 piercing damage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mirabel's natural affinity for all things electric allow him to only take half damage from lightning, but that doesn't mean he's in a good mood about it.
He continues his muttering, casting frostbite again
Con Save: 15 vs DC 14; 7 cold damage and disadvantage on its next attack roll.
Kathra goes for another swing, shouting a battlecry in dwarvish that is less of a battlecry and more an invective against one of the bureaucrats the party spoke with earlier in the day.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
And a little more lightning just for a laugh: 4, halved on a successful DC14 dex throw from the fishies: 9
Kathra really gets some frustration out of her system on the swarm. While her axe blade manages to cleave through a few of the creatures, the lightning arcing off of it seems to overload a few others as it passes by, jolting them out of the air and to the ground with their dead friends. The rest of the swarm remains undaunted.
Peren, you're up!

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
((Gavin is about 30 feet away from his gear. Depending on how you choose to move around the swarm, you can get to your gear and either be within melee range or 10 feet away.))
Peren blasts the swarm with an even stronger icy gale. Several of the creatures fall to the ground, their little wings frozen solid as the tremor slightly and then are still.
End of Round Wrap-up:
Combined, the party managed to do 19 damage to the swarm, bringing its damage total up to 24. The remaining handful of strange flying creatures scatter up into the air in all directions like terrified hummingbirds. In the blink of an eye, you mostly lose sight of them against the drizzling sky.
Kathra watches the swarm scatter. She does not, as she usually does, thank it for the battle, because it wasn't much of one and she's a little miffed to have been in a fight with fish, of all things. It lacks the verve of fighting like, a bear or something. A bear would have been nice.
"Well," she says dryly, "That's one rumor confirmed."
Gavin walks over to the “doo hickey” and picks it up. After making sure it isn’t going to hurt by touching or call more demon fish, he hands it over to Mirabel. “Any idea what this thing is?”
While the wizard is looking at it, Gavin believes it is time to get dressed. “Nothing like a refreshing swim to make you feel alive!” He says VERY sarcastically..
”Anyone ever seen these kind of creatures before?” he says as he is bent over looking at the dead fish on the ground
The small, palm-sized creature is very strange indeed. It looks like a miniature seal pup, but instead of having fur, its skin is covered in shimmery scales, like a fish. Also where it would normally have front flippers, instead you find long gossamer wings. The most interesting feature, however, is the tail. At the tip of each part of the tail fin are small spike-like nubs that feel cool and vaguely metallic.
You've never seen anything like this in your life.

Mub's attacks strike true, but seem about as effective as before, with only a few of the strange creatures being wounded.

This batch of flying monsters seems more or less unaffected by Mirabel's chilly display of power.

I am not proficient in either but have a +2 INT
Nature = 17

I will tell this to the group
With party grouped together I will pray and cast prayer of healing to recover any lost hp (Mirabel and myself I believe)
recovering up to 13 hp
“Nice scouting job Mub, having you in the air is very helpful”
