Zotar handles the clockwork mouse, but doesn't dare wind it, "I am far better with people than machines I'm afraid. But a nice trinket for sure" Zotar carefully hands the mouse back to Ammom to deliver to Diangar. He then leans in close to his brother and whispers softly, "What was all that back in the shop? If you didn't trust this Dr. Omzig to pay us, why take the job in the first place?"
Looks like Seldor has his own. I’ll pocket mine away before anyone else asks about it. I whisper to Zotar, “I do trust the doctor to pay us, but you saw him. He’s not in good shape and he’s going quick. There’s many things to go south on this job. The doctor dies because we run out of time. We die trying to lift the stone. We get away with our lives but no stone. I mean, the deck is stacked against us for sure. If the job falls through, a few gems are more than fair for my troubles I think.” I look over at Aydrik. “And Mr Noble over there is going to open his mouth in the most inoperative time.” I give Aydrik a wink and a head nod. I see you over there pal. I think to myself
"Sure." He tosses a second mouse to Seldor. Diangar though lighthearted is still very cautious and on his guard especially on an adventure like this. He takes the time and surveys the surroundings.
You're on a safe and well traveled road, close enough to the military forces of Brixtonia that there's little or no chance of bandits and even less of any wandering monsters!

Aydrik looks away quickly. As they ride, Aydrik thinks about Ammom's words. He's not sure that he disagrees, but he wishes the halfling wouldn't steal from Doctor Omzig.
And you could stop him so easily, whispers the smooth voice in the back of Aydrik's head. Out of habit, Aydrik glances towards the others to make sure they can't hear the telepathic voice that speaks to him and him alone.
It's fine,Aydrik thinks back.
Oh, don't pretend!replies the voice in mock irritation.
We wouldn't even need to blast him, though that could be fun. Just tell your old pal Doctor Omzig.
Aydrik shakes his head.
"I'm no dire rat," he mutters. The voice only chuckles in reply.
"Hey Karl, do you know anything about the Baron's compound? Is it near a town, in town, or secluded?"
"Nice place, secluded. Fighting arena, gambling den, smoking house, bar, girls, boys, sheep, everything you want!"He realizes he got excited and loud then glances at Runa, Thurston, and Diangar before sinking his head into silence.

I lean into Zotar. “When we reach Wayby Inn, you stick close to me. Taverns such as the kind this tavern is isn’t much for niceties between patrons. Drink your drink, keep your head low and your ears perked. May be able to get some information about the Baron. But don’t let that distract you from having a good time.” I smirk knowing the type of place the Inn is. “Should have all types of wenches as well, you’d be surprised by the service they are willing to provide for a bit larger tip.” I pull out 2 of the smaller diamonds and give them to Zotar. “Your half of the cut. The rest needs saved for now. Don’t want to go broke on the first night.”
Zotar took the two diamonds and nodded to his brother with a forced grin to hide his lack of interest in the drinking or the wenches. Information on the other hand was something he wouldn't mind getting. He then focused his eyes on the horizon and began working on a piece of music in his mind that he had been working on for as long as he could remember.
Runa smirks anew as Karl describes the Baron’s compound to Fen. She’s generally aware of other independent conversations going on but not listening directly to any of them.
Runa also takes mental note of Fen’s note-taking.What did he say earlier? When she’d asked Fen about his notes, he’d replied that they were mostly about races and cultures, and that he enjoyed learning about the people of the world. Good thing to remember. We’ll know who to ask if we need information of that sort.
Runa nods in response to Sarro’s suggestion. “A private room or even a secluded corner at the inn would be a good idea. Some form of planning would probably be an even better idea.”
Runa pauses, and her eyes narrow in thought.
“Although I suppose we won’t be able to plan too perfectly until we actually see the Baron’s compound. I confess, I’m less a planner and more prone to making things up as I go along. Did you have some specific thoughts?”
Sarro looks at Runa, "I prefer to plan things out before I jump in." He sighs, "But perhaps you are right, we cannot plan much until we have seen our target and what kind of security he has. I gathered from the good Doctor a frontal assault would be suicide, so stealth and trickery may have to do where strength cannot."
Sarro raises his voice and addresses Karl "How long until we arrive at the inn good sir?"
The Wayby Inn comes into sight, a huge stacked stone first floor with three more wooden stories rising above it. The roadside is lined with wagons, cart, carriages and buggies on both sides of the road for at least a full kilometer in both directions. Next to the Inn is a barn and a large corral of horses. In the woods behind the Inn you can see a large encampment of tents, lean to's and improvised shelters. Karl takes the horses to the barn where he will spend the night watching over them. In the morning he'll meet you with the horses. Music, cheers, howls and laughter come from inside the Wayby Inn along with the smell of baking breads and roasted meats. Inside a fiddle, drum and flute trio fills the place with lively music. A drunken band of Dwarves and another of Orcs are getting heated over who makes the toughest miners. "Ar ya don kno was in da earth til ya don bin dow da coal mines, ya pansy munchkins!" "Munchkins?! You filthy creatures couldn't last a shift on my crew. You may be bigger than me, taller than me but your also dumber and smellier and I'll kick your arse right here to prove it Orc!" The orc yells out and the fighting begins. Above the stage you notice the sign. FIGHTING RULES! NO SWORDS OR PISTOLS! BROKEN GLASSES AND MUGS WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR BILL!
