Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
It takes the Caravan another 1.5 days to arrive and on the evening of Day 6 (Caravan Day 5) the Merchants and Soldiers are warmly greeted. Rumors of your aid on the road quickly spread throughout town. By the time you go to the Feasthall, you are approached by the Mayor of town who offers you a night of lodging in the best inn, free of charge.
Thom the Wagon Master was able to get 50% value for the Orc's gear for a total of 13885 gp. He approaches you after the Mayor's offer.
Thom says in a short but stern manner, "I reckon, we owe you our lives and this entire bounty of loot should be yours. Some of the Soldiers are saying it was the Divine hand of Mystra that saved us, so they asked me to split the loot up 8 ways. I'm union, so I don't take share in Soldier loot but I am here to give you the 10 gp I owe you." He hands you a small pouch that jungles. Then he turns around to a large wheel barrow and pulls up an enormous sack, bursting with gold coins. Here is your share of the Soldiering Bounty seventeen hundred and thirty five gold coins. I ain't never had my hands on this kind of loot, so you keep care who sees you carrying this much around." The dwarf shakes your hand and turns to leave.
More patrons approach you to shake your hand. Some want to buy you a drink. Others are eye-ing your large sack of coins.
* RP and stay up * Retire to the Fancy Inn * Fast forward to Dawn on Day 6 * Do something else, creative, out of the box, off the rails
Akkron's illusory form smiles as he collects the massive bounty.
"Much appreciated, it was just what had to be done," he says to Thorn. He can't help but be a bit amused at those who are eyeing the bag of coins... if they have heard the story and are still insane enough to try to rob him, they're welcome to try.
"Now then," he says to his fellow bar patrons. "As much as I would like to stay all night, I do need to retire soon. But before I do, does any one of you happen to have a spell book that you would be interested in selling? In case you hadn't noticed, I can certainly afford to pay you reasonably well for it."

The Mayor, a fat man in fine clothes, named Reginald Greely, smiles and introduces you to a short woman named Lila Kinga as the City Librarian. She wields a wizard's staff and you can tell she has a wizardly way about her.
Lila Kinga says, "Oh. You. You want to buy an old spellbook? I've got several to sell, mostly used. Some have spells in them." She brings you to a closed shop, next to the Library and with the Mayor nodding, she opens it up. Here are all the tomes and spellbooks we have for sale. You can pick out just about any blank one for 50 gp. The rest are about 100 gp because of the arcana pricing." The Mayor gestures and Lila nods. "Ok, we do have a very special spellbook. There was a hero that once lived in this town. She was my mother, also a Wizard and she left me this spellbook. I can't cast the spells in here but I could part with them for 1000 gp."

He will also purchase spellbook alpha as an emergency backup before he retires for the night.
Defenders Day 1, continued Thayon sits down with Arch Wizard Kane and describes his dream. "I was in the Ethereal Plane and voices were calling out to me to save them. Mystra was there and she embraced me. Then took my hand and lead me up a steep hill. The hill became a mountain side. I was climbing a sheer cliff. I reached the top and it was calm. Suddenly, the earth gave beneath my feet. As I fell, I looked back and Mystra was falling behind me. She spoke but no words came out. She mouthed the word, Commune, just as I hit the ground and then awoke."
Arch Wizard Kane said, "Too many late nights, studying by candlelight?"
Thayon said, "This is a real portent. You must see that. Mystra is trying to tell me something."
Arch Wizard Kane grumbles, "Fine, call the Circle of Twelve to convene. I will go gather the group and you send couriers."

Thayon says his piece and everyone agrees of the Commune. They all make suggestions of what to ask Mystra, should the spell succeed.
Thayon goes into a trance and Mystra appears before his eyes, so that the others cannot see. He asks the first questions.
"Is the world in peril?"
Mystra answers, "Yes" and Thayon echoes for the others to hear.
"Is one of our enemies to blame?"
Mystra answers, "No"
"Can we defeat this threat?"
Mystra answers, "Unclear" and the spell ends.
When he comes out of the trance, he says, "I must rest and try again tomorrow."
Arch Wizard Kane says, we will all scatter, go visit each city along the river, take the fastest watercrafts and collect information from all the towns and come back in 3 days. So the Defenders split up and travel their own ways to all the closest towns to the capital.
