Whether the others follow or not, Kae gets out, goes to, and opens the door to this bar. As soon as the door swings open the music goes from muffled to a full-fledged blasting of George Strait's "All my ex's live in Texas" (tm). The smell of stale beer, sweat, and tobacco smoke cast a fog over Kae as she looks inside. The bar: A 20 ft. by 50 ft, room with various tables and chairs scattered about. On the far east wall of the room, Kae spies a jukebox bathed in multicolor lights as the music blares from it. To the right of the jukebox is a closed door. Along the north wall of this room, Kae sees a long bar, approximately 5 ft. from the north wall stretching the entire length of the room. Several bar stools line the south side of the bar. Behind the bar is a human wearing a blue shirt and jeans with a brown apron wrapped around the girth of his midsection. His hair is clipped short but he sports a long salt-and-pepper beard. He seems to be looking off at nothing while cleaning a glass. Kae sees only 1 patron in the bar, sitting on the far end on a stool. The poor lighting in the bar does not allow Kae to make out the person's facial features but she sees he is wearing a jean jacket, jeans, and cowboy boots. Perched on his head is a weathered cowboy hat.
The bartender looks in your direction and perks up. "Come on in" he says with a smile. "We don't bite."
Eddie follows behind Kae but makes sure to take his bag out of the car with him. Things seem too quiet in this town for Eddie's taste which makes him slightly uncomfortable.
After hearing the bartender's welcome Eddie moseys on up to the bar and says "Thanks friend. We couldn't help but notice your sign as we we passing on through. We figured we'd pop on in for a bite to eat and place to bed down for the night. If that's something you can help us out with we'd be mighty obliged."
Zal, for his part, simply nodded and let out a soft "Sounds good" in agreement, before letting his body move on auto-pilot in following Kae inside with a dozing Cornchip in his arms and what few belongings he had slung over his shoulder. But the short journey inside he wore a solemn look about him tinged with brief moments of bubbling anger beneath the surface before it cools again.
However, even in his current state, he couldn't wholly ignore the greeting from the bartender, though would look to him seeming mildly annoyed for a second before cringing a bit. "Yea, uh... yea. It's, uh... been a long night for us." He then glances about the bar before saying, "It, uh... is it usually this quiet here?"Zal asks the bartender in an awkward bid to make small talk.

The Bartender smiles broadly. "I'm afraid the kitchen is closed for the evening." he tells you. "But we do have a couple of rentals that you can have for the night." He pauses for a moment. "I do have some chips and a couple of hot pickles that I can get for you." he tells you.
He turns to Zal, "Well, it's a Wednesday night so only Pedro there." he nods towards the figure at the end of the bar. "Isn't that right Pedro." he raises his voice and yells to the other man. "Si" is the reply you hear.
He finally sets down the glass he was holding and walks closer to you. "We don't get much outsiders here." he says. "You folks got kin here?" he asks.
Zalos greets Pedro with a curt nod, before then finding himself grimacing at at the question. "Ehh... No sir. But, uhm... we sort of do -- Or, I do have family business that needs taking care of town. Which is a, uh... long story in itself." Zal admits as much. The bartender nods. "Well, tha names Roy an' I own tha place." he tells you. "I got a trailer out back that has 2 beds an' one that has just 1. They're 2 sp. a night and that comes with a "continental breakfast" but if ya want more, I can get my wife. Emmy, ta fry up somethin'." The in keeper's eyes light up. "Fer that" he says. "I can rustle you up some more grub." he smiles as he slides the gold into his till and turns, making his way to the kitchen. You hear pots and pans clang and the rush of a gas burner being lit.
Standing there you see Pedro seems to have taken an interest in you. He looks your way intently and stands, downs the rest of his beer, and staggers your way. ¿Buscas empleo? he asks with a drunken slur.
"Well look at slick over here being a big spender."Zal jokes and might've patted Eddie on the shoulder were it not for a slumbering corn chip in his arms. Before he can say more, attention splinters somewhat was he side-eyes Pedro with a raised brow. "Busca-...qué? Sorry sir, but what are you on about? In common, if you would?" The ranger requests looking mildly both confused and annoyed.
While not [common], I'm presuming the language is one of those an average person might be familiar enough to at least vaguely recognize and at best know a word or two. But if not, ignore the 'que?' part.
Or in this instance, is it a language any of us straight up know/speak?

The 5'5" Hispanic male turns and looks at you. His face is weathered and even though he is drunk you can tell he has lived a lifetime of hard work, worry, and sorrow. "Senor'," he says. "I was asking if you and your friends were looking for some work. If you are come see Senor Eldarmath at the orchard. He will have work for you." With that, the drunken man staggers out of the bar.
The innkeeper comes out as the door slams behind Pedro. "Did he just leave?" he asks the party. "He knows better than that." The innkeeper moves to the window along the west wall and watches. A moment later he rushes to the door and opens it. "He don't want any trouble." He calls out. "You all just aught to let him go on." "Mind yer own business Roy." comes a voice from outside.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eddie will go over to the window and take a look out but without standing directly in front of it so that he is not in the direct line of sight of the people outside.
In spite of the man's appearance and demeanor Zalos still gave the man a respectful yet slightly uncertain nod, before watching him depart. Just as he's about to turn to Eddie and Kae with a question, he's given pause at the innkeeper's return and reactions, and then narrows his eyes. "Looks like this night ain't quite over yet." Zal carefully sets Corn Chip down in one of the booths, before stepping outside in full view for a better look. "I'm sorry, but is everything alright out here?"He asks firmly of any and all present near Pedro.

Kae becomes worried as whoever's outside reacts to Pedro leaving. It looks like she's about to say something, but then she sees what Eddie's doing and stops herself before anything leaves her lips. She'll get as close to the unfamiliar and threatening voices as she can without making herself visible, ready to back Zal up should the need arise. She has a few of her stones in her palm, still with the odd technology that she put on them before.

After Zal starts negotiations, Kae makes a bid to get Eddie out of the way of the ruffians, though her deceptive skills aren't exactly on the same level as his. She stashes her rocks into her pocket and walks out of the inn, next to Eddie. Interestingly, the metal bits on the rocks makes them sound a lot like heavy coins as she walks. "Grandpa..." she suddenly realizes that the man Eddie turned into is distinctly human, while she is distinctly not. "...in-law. Grandpa in-law. We should head back inside, we don't want to disturb the nice men." She tries to lead her shapeshifting companion back into the inn and to safety, though the stones in her pocket let out another series of coin-like clinks as she does so.

Seeing Zal walk outside and with an obscured view from the window Eddie's shape shifts into that of an old human man in his late 60's or early 70's.
Old man Eddie hunches over and limps outside, using his cane to assist him, before leaning against the wall, his cane in hand.
