”Fair enough,” says Spike, handing over the reigns and flipping the young boy a silver piece. He considers leaving his armor with the wagon, but decides against it—if this is an inn for adventurers, there shouldn’t be too much consternation about a few spikes…
Spike heads towards the entrance with the others…

Essendrum sends an extra silver to the boy by magehand, saying, “Someone else may be collecting the wagon for its return trip. Those beasts have saved my old legs a great deal of walking and I owe them a few extra carrots in thanks.”
He joins the party so they can enter together, using prestidigitation to make them presentable.
”Now here is an inn worth visiting! There may be a library inside and even a wizard or two with whom I can exchange notes!”
The young lad nods at the new instructions and takes the reins of the mule as the party climbs off the cart.
As you lad leads the mule away, you look around and take in the sight of the somewhat elaborate Inn. There is an energy in the air here. Not one of magic per se but a feeling washes over each of you nonetheless. It's either nostalgia or excitement but you get the impression many an adventure has started or ended in this place.
The party makes its way through the open double doors ((assuming you have nothing else you wish to do)) and walks into the inn. The interior looks just as impressive as the exterior. As you look around you see several tables with chairs dotting the landscape with servers shuffling here and there. There are several patrons seated at various tables some alone and others in a small group, all eating or talking amongst themselves. You have heard stories of kings with great feasting halls and to your mind, this place fits the bill.
Along the west wall, there is a large fireplace, large enough for an Ogre to sit inside, if he had a mind to, and along the south wall, close to the fireplace, a small stage with steps at either side of it. An elven female is standing in the front center of the stage singing a song in elvish while strumming a lute.
Along the north wall is a small bar with several stools in front of it. A portly man with a full beard and less hair on top seems to be absently mindedly cleaning glasses and mugs.
"Welcome to Danivarr House!" pipes a voice in front of you, but much lower to the floor. Standing before you is a young woman, only about 3 ft. tall, with pointed ears that would make any elf jealous and a set of white feathery wings attached to her back. She is dressed in simple trousers and a shirt. "What can we do for you?" she asks.

Essendrum will defer to the younger party members for the securing of a table or room. He whispers to Bjorn that it would perhaps be wise to speak to ask to speak to the proprietor on a matter relating to accommodations, as their employers are a secretive lot. He then sets about investigating into whether there is a library or any wizards in residence at the moment. His investigation will include asking the little greeter and the barkeep, but observation as well…perhaps even a bit of poking about.
Enoch quickly leaned over to Kiza, whispering "You might want to get that Harper's badge ready."
Leaning back up, he turned to the winged hostess and smiled broadly. "Greetings! We're interested in a room here at your fine establishment, as well as a table for a meal." He lowered his voice and in a more somber tone added, "Also, we really need to seeDral Thelev... as soon as possible, at that."
"Rooms, a table, and a meal I can get you," the winged woman replies to Enoch. "But Dral's a busy man and doesn't see folks just off the cuff, especially ones that no one knows." The winged woman turns to lead the party to a table.
Essendrum just seems to wander off to explore the inn.
Essendrum sees several people but no one stands out to him in particular. He finds the stairs and wanders around the second floor. This appears to be the residential area, a long hallway with several doors on each side. At the end of the hallway, to the east, Essendrum sees a set of stairs with two wooden statues of small lions on each side of the first step. Essendrum roll Perception, please!
Flint
Flint enters the establishment and takes a look around. The promise of a room, table, and meal perks him up. He glances as Essendrum just wanders off on his own but pays the wizard no mind, he is a wizard after all. Flint roll Perception, please!
Kiza looks at the winged women "I believe I misplaced my Harp and Dral may know where I left it." She stresses the word harp in a conspiratorial tone to see if there is any reaction from the lady.
Taking in the ambiance of the place, Spike is much encouraged that this place will be much more to his liking than the previous inn. He looks around the room out of habit, his days as a mercenary having trained him to make threat assessments in each place he enters.

Enoch grimaced as their hostess gently rebuffed the request for an audience with Dral, but said nothing as she led them to their table. He was trying to think of another way to stress the importance of their contacting him, when Kiza spoke up.
If the hostess recognized anything Kiza was saying she did not acknowledge it. She shows the party to your table, a table on the far right of the room. "The waiter will see you in a moment and guide you through our meal choices." she tells you then turns and leaves.
Flint.
Making your way to the table, you notice a table in the far left corner. Around the table are 3 dwarves. One looks up at you and then turns his attention back to his companions.
Essendrum
As you take in the decor of the second floor you notice a shadow move along the far eastern wall. Why it draws your notice is that there is no physical body attached to it. You also notice that it was "more or less" human in shape but its limbs were unusually long.
Bjorn
Bjorn's use of the fey tongue does not go unnoticed but there is not a great amount of fanfare about him using it either. There is only a slight nod.
After a few moments, a lanky older human approaches your table. He is dressed in a slightly dirty shirt, trousers, and an apron. "Welcome to the Danivarr House, may your stay be luxurious and comfortable," he says in a long droning voice. "I am Klaus, and I will be your server. We have the basic order of soups and bread or if you wish, more diverse meal choices can be chosen from our menu." He pauses. It seems breathing might be a labor for this older man and his back bends slightly as he takes a deep breath to continue. "What do you desire?" he asks.
Nodding his respect to the table of dwarves as their eyes meet, Spike moves to sit down with his companions.
When the waiter arrives, Spike says, “I’ll start off with fresh bread and your finest local ale, then perhaps a glance at the menu for something a bit more substantial.”

Essendrum does his utmost best to keep the shadow in view and follow it. He sends a mental command to his raven to ring the others upstairs quickly. He attempts to deduce from his observations what the shadow is, calling on his vast knowledge of lore. If it is able to get to them, the raven will flap to the party’s table and make a fuss, squawking “shadow!” over and over, pecking at them and flapping back and forth between them and the stairs.

"I will take any filling meal and drink you have as I am not picky" says Kiza as she sits down. Where can Dra be? I rather not flash the badge for all the see. Well maybe I will have a better idea once i have eaten.
Essendrum's Raven lands in the middle of the party's table. It starts flapping its wings and squawking saying: "Shadow, Shadow, Shadow!" The bird pecks at each companion and repeats the same words.

Several creatures of the arcane come to Essendrum's mind, most he has only read about. {monster]Shadow[/monster] seems the most likely. Essendrum walks to the eastern side of the hall only to find it turns right and continues. Movement about 4 doors down catches his eye as he sees, what he thinks, is a small sliver of shadow sliding under the door.
