The party starts to head down the southern hall. You get about half down and can see the door when each of you is overcome with a rapid and unusual need to rest. You awaken some hours later, Kiza and Enoch on the left of the hall and Essendrum & Spike on the right. Each of you is in your bedrolls. You awaken refreshed and feeling much better than you had in a couple of days. You vaguely remember dreaming of home and family and of times of joy and happiness in your lives.(Full Rest) Between you is a small stone that sheds light. Beside each of you, you find an item with a small bow attached to it. Spike finds a Stein. It appears to be made of oak wrapped in brass with a bone-white handle. Carved onto the stein are images of dwarves engaging in battle with the stein or drinking from it. Essendrum finds an elegant pocket watch on a silver and gold chain. On the front cover exterior, there is an image of a white snowy owl. On the back, an image of 7 stars and a pair of feminine eyes in the midst of them. Kiza finds an elegant and fragile-looking short bow. The grip is carved in the appearance of a crow with thin wings outstretched, serving as the limbs. The grip is covered with a soft leather and the string is white and seems durable. Enoch finds something he has not seen since his days as an initiate. Before him he sees a pair hand wraps. They are white with a red line down the middle of each.
It takes a few moments to come to grips with what has just happened but, there is a feeling of peace that rests on you and alleviates any fears that usually would surface. Bjorn is not with you. You realize he wasn't himself for the past hours and you don't think he was taken, it may be that he has wandered off. He can't have gone far.
(Merry Christmas Everyone! I will post tonight to continue the adventure!)
Essendrum sits up on his bedroll and blinks the sleep from his eyes. He absentmindedly forms mystic symbols with his fingers to renew his ward and cast mage armor, while peering at the pocket watch.
”Miraculous.”
He ritually casts Detect Magic and scans the presents. He then examines the watch and experiments with it to see what secrets it might hold.
Waking refreshed, Spike happily looks at the mug, comparing it to the one he has been carrying around—is it a second mug, or perhaps and upgraded version of his current one?

As Essendrum experiments with the pocket watch, a snowy owl materializes and lands on his shoulder where she settles in and almost disappears against his white hair and beard. “I think we will call you Milady in honor of the goddess. The light of the moon is truly welcome in this dark place.” With that he puts out his torch annd stows it, picking up the glowing stone, whistling softly to himself and tossing it lightly into the air as if the rest had restored some of his lost youth and mislaid optimism.
A bit puzzled, Enoch looked over the gloves. He admired the workmanship, and found the aesthetics fashionable. But as to how they'd gotten there, or for that matter, how the party had seemingly fallen asleep all the sudden, he was suspicious.
Shrugging it off for the moment, he looked at the others. They seemed happy to find the items beside them; perhaps they really were gifts? He then turned to Essendrum, who seemed to be inspecting the items--wise as usual, Enoch had to note--and held the gloves out to him.
Essendrum gazes at the magical energies flowing around Enoch’s wraps. “They are magical and there is nothing about the magic that is obviously threatening. Of course, if they were cursed, that is how they would appear. More importantly, I think, the most subtlety the dark forces we face have shown yet is giving us a red cloaked corpse to mistake for a Thayan. If the guardians of this tomb had put us to sleep, I think they would have done away with us rather than trick us into accepting cursed magic. It is not impossible, of course, but my logic tells me we have experienced something beyond logic: a divine miracle.”
"My mug has gained in power! It still fills with fine Dwarven ale, and now it swings like a mace!" rejoices Spike, "Let's go to the door and see what lies on the other side!"
Once everyone has recovered and he has inspected the door, he opens it.

As the party approaches the door they hear what sounds like rushing water. Checking the door, you find it unlocked with no traps. Opening the door you find a 40 ft. long by 10 ft. wide suspension bridge in the middle of a wide chasm. The sound of rushing water can be heard coming from below but currently, it is so deep that you can not see the bottom.. Torches are placed right inside the door, in the middle of the bridge, and at its far end. Their illumination seems muted, casting only limited light. At the far end of the bridge, the party sees a gate. Past the gate, there appears to be a series of steps leading down into the darkness below.

Spike tries to find the drag marks he had been following but they seem to have ended, and he can't tell if the bridge is trapped or not.

Essendrum sends Milady to fly out and below and then back again, to take a look through her eyes at the underside of the bridge and 120 feet down the chasm.

“By all means. Let’s start there.”

Essendrum takes up the rear, peering back over his shoulder and regretting his useless banging on the stone.

Kiza picks up the bow and marvels at the craftmanship. She sends a silent thanks to whoever gifted these items.
