"I certainly hope so", Normont replies to Quinn. "Although the option I would be most interested in appears to be broken", he adds, trying to find more more information on the system fault shown as Servitor Behavioural Conditioning- Disengaged ( System Fault - Cannot Engage ).
He would like to fix that and engage ideally.
If not, any information around the last option, Servitor Termination- Disengaged might be useful. In fact, anything that leads him to think the servitors are the creatures from the abyss at all.
(Dev Arcana: 5+3=8 is fitting. Dev tuned out quite a while ago. He stands nervously humming to himself and shooting Quinn a look of concern following every unexplained sound, certain that more of the shape-stealers will soon fall upon them.)

Lokilia fiddles about with some crystals and metal cables within the cabinet underneath and Servitor Training Streams flashes back to active mode, the Engineering panel also flashes briefly.
(OOC: I don't suppose proficiency in tinker's tools gets him advantage as per the rules in Xanathar's? Rolled again just in case and he got the same again haha)
"Nuts and bolts, I can't fathom this thing. Perhaps if I had a few hours", Normont says slightly annoyed with himself.
"So be it, we work with what we have. If we cannot effect the servitors behaviour, perhaps we can give them some training to keep them busy". With that he presses the option Servitor Training Streams.
(OOC: Of course Quinn might have better luck fixing it)
A simple three step graphic appears on the screen.
Servitor Basic Etiquette and Assistance > Archive Retrieval and Interface Assistance or Custodial and Maintenance Services orClient Comfort and Personal Care
( Note that Basic Functions will be imprinted as the Servitor is imported- other Functions will require Servitor to report to Training Booth. Do not overlay two or more Advanced Streams as this can cause glitches in Servitor behavior including Psychosis, Devouring Clients and other unsuitable actions.)
“Wait. So, when the display says “servitor,” that’s one of these shape-stealers?,” Dev asks. “So that’s why we were trying to fix “servitor termination”?“

"That is my assumption, yes Dev", Normont replies to Dev.
"And I expect someone didn't heed this warning around overlaying advanced streams, and that is why they have turned bad", he adds.
He looks for where those advanced streams might be set, so he can remove them. Or if not, whether he thinks setting a new basic function will reset the advanced streams.
“We can try that if you want”, Normont replies. “I wondered if we could get them back to being helpful and fix the rest of this place perhaps, after reading that warning”.
“Helpful…,” Dev trails off, confused. It’s hard for him to wrap his mind around the idea. The shape-stealers had been nothing but malevolent, either in a creepy controlling kind of way or outright murderous, since they first entered the tower.
”I don’t know. If you thinks that’s possible then it’s a good idea. I would never have thought of that!,” Dev finishes, faltering but smiling supportively.

Many options remain, Quinn spots no enemies encroaching currently.....indeed apart from the rushing hot winds and the roar of the fan below the Library seems almost peaceful......though the companions know that will likely not last....

OOC: @DM: Does Normont get any answers to what he is looking for in the quote?
Lokilia has to agree with Normont's suggestion that someone didn't heed the warning. "Psychosis and devouring clients seems to be just about what they were doing! You suppose the original group just kept pushing buttons and caused all the problems?" She glances at the screen. "It says 'basic' there but given the warning, I don't want to take the chance of any of those options. Let's definitely try something else."
She also takes a moment to look around. Are there any clearly broken crystals about and if so are they a particular color or style? Perhaps she can figure out a color or style that is amongst the broken pieces that has not been replaced to get an idea of what they might need.

( Lets go with an Arcana check at Disadvantage.......this is all well out of Normonts wheelhouse.)

Lokilia checks the crystals trying to discern their meanings and functions.....she's fairly sure that the crystals are basically holding instructions for the panel.....but other than that this is all magic thats far beyond her.....and possibly the vast majority of Exandria in this day and age.........

Looking back at Dev and Quinn she gets an inkling of an idea....Dev can create magical sounds.....and Quinn is part crystal himself......is there anything they could do to help?

Quinn begins to worry about the incoming doom if Normant does not fix the issue. "There must be something of value hidden behind these protocols."

( Can I get an Arcana check from everyone to attempt a fix.)

(Lokilia Arcana: 13)
As Normont indicates not everything is working, Lokilia will look around to see if she can identify what might be missing.
Rabbit Sebrica, Sorcerer || Skarai, Monk || Lokilia Vaelphin, Druid || Britari / Halila Talgeta / Jesa Gumovi || Neital Rhessil, Wizard || Iromae Quinaea, Cleric
Meira Dheran, Rogue || Qirynna Thadri, Wizard || Crisaryn Melkial, Sorcerer || Bronnryn Hethgar, Cleric
Lokilia fiddles about with some crystals and metal cables within the cabinet underneath and Servitor Training Streams flashes back to active mode, the Engineering panel also flashes briefly.
"That did something", Normont says to Lokilia. "Let me see".
He sticks his head under the console and uses his magical tinkering to create a little light. He then focuses on the wiring and crystals.
Arcana (with Guidance): 3+5+2=10
(OOC: I don't suppose proficiency in tinker's tools gets him advantage as per the rules in Xanathar's? Rolled again just in case and he got the same again haha)
Normont is unable to coax anything more out of the dread machine.

“But we haven’t tried servitor termination yet. Or ‘Gate Operation- Disengaged ( Password Required),’” Dev recites from memory.
“Maybe the ‘Gate’ can be closed?”
Dev will Help Normont attempt either of these functions if he tries them.
