"Well met. Yes, some of our fellow shipmates did not survive the wreck, yet got up and attacked us regardless. Is this place defensible, should such creatures reach it?"
“ ‘Got up and attacked’ you say? What became of your attackers? We are a peaceful people and do not wish to bring violence to our home.”
"A place to rest would be lovely. This is quite the community you have here. How did you all find yourselves in this place, with these curious creatures?"
“As the name suggests we are here to find rest. Through the Grace of Tiamat we have found it. My children, here work together to serve our little community and others have found their rest here, too.” She nods toward the human man, “Tarak, show our guests to the dining hall. I’m sure you will be eager to impress them with your fine cooking.”
Tarak nods in return and silently beckons you to follow him.
Just then another human comes bounding, glistening with sweat and out of breath, down the path to the group. This is a woman, younger middle age whose frame, once tightly muscled, has thinned with age. Her black hair is cropped close to her scalp, and her light brown skin bears many scars one of which runs across her left eye, which is milky and blind. An elegant prosthetic made from wood and metal replaces her right leg below the knee. She quickly eyes the newcomers with what appears to be suspicion and distain while she speaks soft and low to the woman in white.
If you are paying attention you can just make out the one in white respond with, “did you remember your vows?” Which the new woman will nod solemnly. “Good, go clean yourself up and join us for breakfast.” The new woman nods respectfully and glares at you all before trotting back up the hill.
Jarin eyes the other woman with a bit of interest and is curious if there is something off here and that the elven woman is hiding something or not telling us something...(insight roll) = 15

"We were forced to defend ourselves. Yes, it is a terrible thing to bring violence to one's home," Willin agrees, with a look of profound sadness and loss in his eyes.
“You must excuse Varnoth, she has had a busy morning”
"There seems to be a lot of that going around," Willin comments quietly. [I'm not sure if Jarin's insight was directed at Varnoth or the first woman (whose name I don't think we've gotten?); if it was the latter, I'll roll insight on Varnoth, specifically on why she seems to have a problem with us: 10. (I'm also not sure if this group is big/organised enough to count as a "government" for the purposes of Willin's Court Functionary background?)]

"Unfortunately as soon as the dead can learn how to use the stair, violence will be knocking on your door. Have you had many issues with the dead walking up on your shores or were we so lucky to find the first?" Still having a slightly upbeat attitude dispute the horrible topic they speak of, she follows up her question with, "I would enjoy seeing the mess hall as much as the accommodations mentioned earlier."

Her looks are very accusatory and she definitely blames your presence for something.

“Well, before you all showed up we never had anything of the sort here. Varnoth witnessed a ship wreck on the North side of our island around midnight. And she’s been monitoring it all morning. She just informed me that there are more of these undead creatures coming from this ship.”
(OOC: Sylvian isn't in need of rest to replenish anything, so I'm good either way) In the dining hall, while eating whatever meal was provided, she comments to the party: "We should check back at the shipwreck, salvage any supplies we can if any of the wreckage is still above the sea level. I would be interested to see if there were any other survivors as well as see what has happened to those who didn't. Varnoth is keeping an eye on it and not happy about it. I would like to know why and try to resolve the issue. I an not a fan of staying under the same roof as one who perhaps wishes me ill will."

You recall that people consider Bahamut a good Dragon deity who works against the evil dragon deity, Tiamat.

You can tell that nothing she’s said is untrue.
(also, she’s human not Elf)

The Ship, that was us. But we are not dead. Some of them are and others not anymore.

She will guide you all up the path to the dining hall (A3). Depending on how long you want you can take this as a long or short rest.
