Mal whispers some words under her breath and disappears only to appear immediately behind the armored female and reaches out to wrap her up in a huge bear hug pinning her hands by her side.
Khessa agrees with her mentor's proposal... it is worth at least trying to take this Zemoch alive. And since Master Akkron has thwarted her and blocked her retreat, while Mal is trying to grapple her... she then tries to run to her and cover her mouth with her hands, so that she can't easily cast spells.
If the blonde arcane warrior manages to cover the mouth of the new arrival, she has Alfred improvise a gag with fabric torn from a corpse and passes it to her, gagging her and explaining: "This woman has a staff... a rod... and therefore probably the ability to use both to cast spells. We can't rule out that she'll teleport away if we let her talk now. We'll question her when we set up camp, after I ban teleportation within the camp perimeter".
Akkron fixes his gaze on the newcomer... then casts tasha's mind whip. She needs to make a DC 24 Int save or take 15 psychic damage, in addition to losing her reaction and being forced to choose between taking an action, bonus action, or movement on her next turn.
"Try to take that one alive!" the lich tells his companions. "I suspect her station is far above the unfortunates whom we just finished dealing with..."
The ghostly girl will dash into a position behind the dark elf, cutting off any avenue of retreat. Should the dark elf succeed on her Int save, Akkron will cast silvery barbs to make her roll a second time and take the lower result, giving Khessa the advantage on her next roll.
Save vs whip: 9
The ghostly girl's frightening aspect has no effect on her. Second save: 3
I also have to try a Grapple/Acrobatic Check, I suppose? If so: 21
While not frightened, she is stunned, and you all fall as a pile of bodies. You successfully grapple, pinning her arms to the side which prevents the movement of the staff. She is thrashing, make an attack roll to see if you can get the gag in
"Excellent work," Akkron says. "Bind her securely... if we have actual manacles that would be even better. I suspect that she is analogous to the matron mothers who rule over the Drow noble houses, so we cannot underestimate what she might be capable of if we let our guard down. We can probably execute the ashen rider we left tied to a tree outside now that we have a far more valuable prisoner. I'll leave it to the rest of you to decide what to do with the human mercenary we left bound and gagged upstairs. He is no longer useful to us, but I doubt he is a threat either."
Khessa gets a rope from Alfred and proceeds to tie the new prisoner securely: "It's probably best to take her out and tie her to a tree like the other prisoner... this place might still be big and carrying her around would be a nuisance".
And to the venomous glances of the captured woman the blonde arcane warrior replies: "If you just stop and reflect for a moment, I don't think you have any reason to complain too much... if it had been you who captured us, something tells me that you would have treated us much worse".
In the meantime, the tall adventurer searches her... does the woman have other interesting objects with her, in addition to the staff and the rod?

As a means of resisting, she kicks out at you. She is still not going peacefully.
You find the rod, the black staff, her spell book written in Zemoch, and a black figurine.
Khessa kicks the prisoner back - looking at her in a way that suggests that for every kick that comes, another one is ready to come back: "Experience is the best teacher... Now that you have experienced it first-hand, don't you also find that kicking people is rude?”[[ OOC: By the way, the kick of a person who has Strength 29 is probably waaaaaaay ruder than the kick the average spellcaster can deliver ]]
"Does the black figurine exude the same evil power as idols and shards?" the blonde arcane warrior asks Master Akkron, letting the faithful construct Alfred to handle it, until we know more. Instead, she begins a magical ritual to learn the Staff's powers... If no one disturbs the ritual, at the end of it she should identify the item.

It is a normal figurine, that appears like Slaanesh. As for the staff, it seems to have a demonic energy to it, that causes fear. The rod contains a small amount of demonic power.
Mal will take the rope from her backpack and then tie the prisoners legs up as well, and then proper up in a corner while Akkron and Kehssa finish their casting. Then she will sit opposite the prisoner with her crossbow on her lap pointed right at her skull with a wry smile on her face. Once the others re ready she will hoist the prisoner up onto her shoulder and be prepared to leave.
Very unconvinced of the 'normal figurine, that appears like Slaanesh', Khessa nevertheless focuses on the Staff... Having identified it, she should have learned its properties and how to use them, whether it requires attunement to use, and how many charges it has, if any. And also whether any spells are affecting the item and what they are. If the item was created by a spell, she would know by not which spell created it.
So... what powers does this staff have, in detail? And does it require attunement to use?
[[ OOC: Asking because Khessa might like to use it - she still lacks the magical power to cause fear. Or Akkron or Maynard could use it, anyway, if it does not require attunement ]]
Akkron will have the zombie help out with 'prisoner duty.' It might not be especially effective as against powerful opponents, but it should be able to handle a bound and gagged prisoner alright, while leaving the party free to deal with more pressing threats.
"It would probably be a good idea to strip her of her armor as well," the lich points out. "Without that layer of protection she may be more reluctant to try anything stupid."
(How much more is there to explore in the complex? If there is a lot to explore, Akkron would prefer not to do so while dragging a captive, but he also doesn't like the idea of leaving her alone somewhere to try to wriggle free).

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 bludgeoning damage, or 8 bludgeoning damage if used with two hands, plus 14 psychic damage. The target must succeed on a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of the drow for 1 minute. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Tentacle Rod. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 15 ft., one creature. Hit: 3 bludgeoning damage. If the target is hit three times by the rod on one turn, the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or suffer the following effects for 1 minute: the target’s speed is halved, it has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws, and it can’t use reactions. Moreover, on each of its turns, it can take either an action or a bonus action, but not both. At the end of each of its turns, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.
