Clarac blocks blow after blow from the remaining two guards. One strike slips past her shield. "Your lord has fallen! Surrender now or perish!" she shouts. Assuming the guards do not drop their weapons immediately, Clarac swings her holy sword again.
OOC:
Action: Attack "Last guard" (alternatively "Guard") Attack: 33 Damage: 17 (Magical Slashing) + 4 (Radiant) + 9 (Radiant) = 30 Extra Attack: 30 Damage: 19 (Magical Slashing) + 7 (Radiant) + 11 (Radiant) = 37 Ongoing Effects: Holy Nimbus (round 3 of 10) --> 10 radiant damage to all enemies that start their turn in the sunlight radiating 30 ft. from Clarac
Between your attacks and the radiant light, the last two of the Duke's guard fall at your feet dead.
Since the Demon, despite Tyekanik's efforts, has not yet been eliminated, Khessa runs to the side of the Hungry Giant (always followed like a shadow by the faithful Alfred): "Hey, are you taking it easy, my friend?" she winks "Stop playing with it like a cat with a mouse and kill it! We have things to do".
After which, to set a good example, the blonde arcane warrior unleashes a flurry of thrusts from her Death Lance against the fiend at an impressive speed, while the spirits of the victims continue to swirl around her and enhance her blows...
Tyekanik thunks his axe into the demon's skull and scowls at Jodie as he says, "Not fair: using your magic to steal my kill!"
Tyek reaches behind him. If the coffin on the north end of the room is closed, he opens it. If it's already open and empty, he smashes the coffin with his axe.
Since Robert finished off the convert he had ensnared, Vrox moves forward and retrieves his arrow. Then he releases his concentration, and the thorny vines that were still holding the convert upright appear to shrivel, dropping the convert to the stairs. Vrox jokes to Khessa, "Sometimes, a dull day can feel like forever, but I guess the Duke found that forever can sometimes feel quite short."
Vrox doesn't know whether the others want to explore this room at all or check any of these bodies, but he doesn't feel like they have time. They saw lights coming from the chamber at the south end of the catacombs. For all he knows, the cultists just need one of their rituals to succeed, and he's eager to make sure that there's not another one going on simultaneously in the southern chamber. He says, "I'll go scout that room to the south. Join me there when you're all done here."
Movement: 80' of moving, dashing, to retrieve his arrow and then head out of this chamber and back into the catacombs. Action: Dash Free Action: Talking. Object interaction: retrieving an arrow.
Concentration: None
[[OOC: I'm not sure whether there's a time limit on stopping the other ritual, but Vrox will spend this round and the next to dash across the catacombs and toward the southern chamber. After 2 rounds, he'll be just 20' north of the southern chamber, and he can finally slow down and approach the room with Stealth. Other than Khessa, if she's still under the effects of Haste, Vrox should reach the southern chamber a full round before the rest of the group, so he'll have time to scout ahead and figure out what they face there.]]
Khessa gives a bittersweet smile at Vrox's joke: "True. Too bad so many paid for his mistake..."
"Now let's hurry up and get to the southern area!" the blonde arcane warrior urges everyone "Something tells me there's a ritual going on there too - and we'd better stop it quickly".
Still under the effect of her exceptional speed and still surrounded by the spirits of the fallen, [[ OOC: Both spells last up to a minute and the battle lasted much less ]] the tall adventuress hurries along with Vrox, giving him a little head start so as not to ruin his stealth, but determined to get into action as soon as possible, without wasting a moment.
Who knows how much time the party actually has left?
Tyek reaches behind him. If the coffin on the north end of the room is closed, he opens it. If it's already open and empty, he smashes the coffin with his axe.
[[OOC: I just want to make sure that we're not leaving anyone or anything in these coffins before we leave the room. "What's in the box?"]]

You do feel a build of energy coming from the southern area, though slightly different from this area. You recognize the energy's feel, you have sensed it before near Slaanesh followers
"Now let's hurry up and get to the southern area!" the blonde arcane warrior urges everyone "Something tells me there's a ritual going on there too - and we'd better stop it quickly".
"Yes," Tyek agrees. "And next time, I'll kill the the demon!" Tyek releases his rage and shrinks back to his normal size briefly as he heads up the stairs and through the narrow passageways walkways of the catacombs. He's just as fast as Vrox, but since he started at the back of the chamber, he'll trail the ranger slightly on the way to the southern chamber.
In round 3 he'll make it to the top of the stairs and release his rage. In round 4, he'll follow Vrox through the narrow walkways of the catacombs. In round 5, he'll finally make it to the top of the stairs of the southern chamber where there will be enough space for him to enter a rage again at what I assume is the sight of another demonic ritual. Tyek should be ready for an assault on the southern chamber by round 6.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vrox: Round 5
Assuming the Vrox doesn't not run into any obstacles on the way to the southern chamber, he sneaks quietly down the stairs this round until he can get a view of the room below. He hopes that the party can surprise this group the same way they did the cultists in the previous room.
Clarac understands how important it is to get to the south chamber quickly, to terminate any ritual still in process before it is completed.
Still shining as bright as the sun, she extends her hand to Aya or Lord Akkron (or Sir Sparhawk if both refuse). "Come with me if you want a lift," she says, then begins the incantation to cast Dimension Door. A few seconds later, she disappears in a puff of smoke, reappearing by the stairs at the south side of the catacombs.
OOC:
Action: Ready Cape of the Mountebank to cast Dimension Door to get to top of south stairs when an ally takes Clarac's hand. Ongoing effects: Holy Nimbus (round 4 of 10)
Ashen riders= Converts; Blue Abishi are Blue Demons; and warlocks are warlocks. The casket in the middle is a summoning circle (casket has been smashed to pieces)
As you look inside the room, there is another summoning circle with chanting warlocks and converts, though these wear purple and blue colors instead of red. Two blue hued demons are to the rear. In the center, purple and blue mists are beginning to swirl and intertwine to make what appears to be a gateway.
Khessa does not like a bit the purple and blue mists beginning to foem a gateway...
Assessing that there is no time to lose, the blonde arcane warrior runs to the limit of the circle, starting to stab frantically at the chanting warlocks and converts with her Death Lance, while Alfred watches her back and the spirits of the fallen keep inciting her.
[[ OOC: this should still leave plenty of room for those who want to unleash area-of-effect attacks ]]
[[OOC: It sounds like Clarac and one other will arrive at the stairs to the southern chamber even before Vrox, Khessa, and Tyek. The rest of the party should arrive there at most one round later.]]
Vrox: Round 1
As Vrox starts to sneak down the stairs and sees the forming mist, Khessa and Alfred race past him into the room to attack the cultists. Vrox sees the demons at the back of the room and says, "Come quickly!", to Tyek and heads down the stairs. As they reach the bottom of the steps, Vrox touches the barbarian's thick arm and misty steps into the northwest corner of the room. As he appears in the chamber, he grabs a horn that hangs from a strap at his side. The horn looks like it was made from the horn of some great animal, perhaps a dragon or maybe some Fey creature. It's banded with silver that's etched with runes. Vrox speaks a word of command and takes a deep breath. Then he raises the horn to his lips and blows. A loud, piercing sound rings out, which can be heard all the way back in the eastern chamber and probably up on the previous floor. (Vrox aims the blast to miss Khessa and Alfred but cover most of the cultists. I think that he can catch all of the enemies in the AoE except for the two demons and the convert who is at the east end of the room.)
Movement: Move 30' down the steps, misty step, and then an additional 10' to end in the northwest corner of the room Bonus Action: Cast a spell Misty Step using Misty Wanderer feature to bring Tyek with him. Misty step from the base of the stairs to the west side of the room, about 10-ft west of the convert at the NW side of the group. Action: Use the Horn of Blasting, aiming about 30 degrees south of east. The thunderous blast affects a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the cone must make a DC 15 CON saving throw or take damage: 21 (thunder) and be deafened for 1 minute. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage and is not deafened. Free Action: Talking. Getting out the horn.
Tyekanik runs up to the southern chamber just behind Vrox. Khessa races down into the chamber, and Tyek follows Vrox to the base of the stairs. Like earlier in the hallway, Vrox helps get Tyek closer to the biggest enemies. Once the shimmering mist clears and Tyek regains his bearings, he finds himself right at the middle of the eastern side of the room. He glares at the demon to his south and says, "Your death is here, demon" as he rages and grows to huge size. Tyek now controls the 15'x15' area on the west of the room about 5' away from the southeast corner.
Movement: Move 30' down the steps and then move 10' after the Misty Step to end along the west wall about 5' away from the south wall in the corner. Bonus Action: Enter a Rage, imbuing Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver with thunder damage Action: Two Reckless Attacks against the demon (on the west side) with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attack 1: 34, Damage: 26 (magical thunder) + 15 (force) = 41 (total) Attack 2: 32, Damage: 34 (magical thunder) + 10 (force) = 44 (total) Free Action: Talking.
Your attack catches them by surprise as they are focusing on the ritual. You must have caught them at a pinnacle moment. The first Warlock falls and you can strike the Convert next to him.
