The two soul surviving boys found backpacks, loaded up on food and equipped themselves with short swords and oversized helmets, stating "We're heading to my Da's place another valley over, I think I am done doing the page business, maybe become an adventurer like you all."
Before sending the boys off, Vrox reaches into his Rust Bag of Tricks, pulls out a ball covered in short white wiry fur, and tosses it on the ground. As soon as it lands, a sparkling mist swirls around it for a moment, and when the mist disappears, there's a white goat in its place. Vrox tells the boys, "Thank you again for your help yesterday. This buck will travel with you until you reach your father's place. He can help you carry your things and defend you if you encounter trouble. You showed great cleverness in surviving the attack on the castle. That bodes well for your future adventures! Fare well, and may the Good People watch over you!"

Khessa has with her the silver icon for the chapel's deity depicting a cleric kneeling in supplication - she, as well as anyone within 30 feet of her, is under the effect of a Protection From Evil And Good spell against fiends and the undead.
Since Vrox is normally scouting ahead whenever the party is traveling, he's almost certainly more than 30 ft. ahead of the group when Azash appears. In fact, he may actually be on the other side of Azash from the rest of the party.
You are correct, you are behind him, and the fear has no effect on you
Khessa has with her the silver icon for the chapel's deity depicting a cleric kneeling in supplication - she, as well as anyone within 30 feet of her, is under the effect of a Protection From Evil And Good spell against fiends and the undead.
Does Azash count as a fiend? If so, he should not be able to frighten us at all.
He is a large fiend, and your statue does protect you.
Azash shows surprise that none of you show any fear, and he starts to stomp his feet, almost like a tantrum. He seems to be getting more angrier as he has no effect on you, you presume what he usually expects. He raises his head and roars at the sky, then level his gaze at you once more.
"You mere mortals think you can stand up to me, the Blood God! I have conquered world, my throne sits on the thousands of skulls of my vanquished, floating in the sea of their blood! My army cannot be counted, and we will have this world!"
Khessa, unfazed, raises an eyebrow in a cocky manner, as the god wannabe babbles on... and she takes the opportunity to prepare for battle, by up-casting a Spirit Shroud with a 5th slot level and having Algfred cast the recently stored Haste spell on her.
When the boastful Nefarious stops speaking, the blonde arcane warrior, once again surrounded by the avenging souls of the fallen of recent battles, taunts him: "In case the tears from the recent setbacks you have recently suffered one after another are blinding you at the moment... I want to remind you that here and now you have no army with you... So, I'm afraid that all you will get... is this!"
And with that the tall adventuress (promptly followed by Alfred, who stays behind her to help her defend herself as usual) launches herself into the attack, wielding the death lance, wielded in both hands, at lightning speed!

The Feywild is filled with sublime experiences. To Vrox, everything in Eosia is muted by comparison: the colors less bright, the scents less fragrant, the sorrow less heart-breaking, and the fear less terrifying. Therefore, Vrox is able to resist the the wave of fear that seems to radiate from the Azash.
Expecting that an archdemon would be immune to being charmed or frightened, Vrox scans the field to see whether there are any other enemies in sight. If so, he can use his fey magic to twist Azash's aura of fear and use the emotion to affect another creature.
whenever you or a creature you can see within 120 feet of you succeeds on a saving throw against being charmed or frightened, you can use your reaction to force a different creature you can see within 120 feet of you to make a DC 19 Wisdom saving throw. If the save fails, the target is charmed or frightened by you (your choice) for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a successful save.

And Vrox needs to switch from shield and dagger to longbow while he tries to hide far enough away that the demon doesn't perceive him. [[OOC: OK. Thanks, @Aaggie. Should we go ahead and post our actions / attacks in the first round? How far are the members at the front of the party from Azash at this moment?]]
Behind you another slit appears, this one colored gold, silver and copper. Stepping from it is Flute, followed by what appears to be a giant Northman, followed by a second rather burly figure. The three stand behind you, and face off against Azash,
Maynard speaks in whispers, "if my teachings are right, that is Hanka, and the other is Romalic, they are elder gods like Azash."
The burly one, pointed out as Romalic, speaks to Azash. "Well cousin, do we finally get to settle scores? We have been dying to get back at you if it wasn't for this damnable accord we all agreed to. I know I have been waiting these thousands of years to finish where we left off. I will feel bad the mutual destruction of our people, don't you agree Hanaka?"
The other god who looks like a Giant Viking nodded and brought forth a massive battle axe. "I agree, I have grown rather fond of my people, but to face off against you and knock you down several pegs and deny them and this world to you, so be it!"
The other god sighs and then a smile creeps across his face. "I guess we have to do the only thing we can do, dear Aphrael, are you going to join in on the bloodletting?"
Flute looked at the two gods with her impish smile, "And deny you my sweet cousins all of the fun, no. You two go ahead and play. I will cheer you on with my friends here." Romalic gave a very evil grin as a massive two-handed silvered sword appeared.
"Then let's get this started," he simply stated with ga set look on his face. As Romalic and Hanaka advanced on Azash, a slit once more appeared, and you could see beyond the river of blood that he spoke of. "I will get you next time, we are going to win and this doesn't mean anything." He stepped through and the slit closed behind him.
Khessa smiles at Flute and goes to hug her, then picks her up, cuddles her and playfully tickles her: "Thanks for bringing company, dear! You played a nice prank on that guy, didn't you? We were about to take care of him, but we're glad you saved us the trouble!"
The blonde arcane warrior, still holding the child-goddess in her arms, produces a beautiful scented flower and puts it in the child's hair; in the meantime she turns to the other two gods and smiles at them too: "Nice to meet some of Flute's friends! I'm Khessa, Khessa Cabbagefield!"she holds out her free hand, the one she is not holding Flute with, for a handshake "I'm sorry that Mr Skull Collector ran away so quickly... but if he ever comes across me and my friends in the future (and I think he will), don't worry, we'll beat him up for you too!"
Flute and the two gods stood there and began to laugh as Azash disappeared. Then they turned and looked at the abandoned castle. "That castle is tainted, it can't remain," stated Romalic, and the three of them nodded. From their hands three streams of light, gold, copper and silver became a single beam and bathed the castle. It faded from sight, and in its place, a peaceful meadow.
"A nice touch cousin," Hanaka stated to Flute, "fitting."
Then the three gods turned to you. "Well champions, I must say however you were brought together, was appropriate. I haven't seen ol' Azash that bent out of shape then his lost a thousand years ago. Now, what would you have from us if we are permitted to assist?"
If Khessa didn't have the time to pick up Flute and 'welcome' her earlier as I had narrated in my previous post, she does so now; after which...
...The blonde arcane warrior, still holding out her hand to the two other gods to introduce herself, replies: "Could we start with your names? You must excuse me, I'm not from here, so while I instinctively find you likeable, I have no idea who you are..."
After the introductions, the blonde arcane warrior explains the path the party had in mind: "We are plannig to make our way northward through Eldamar and speak with the Elves. Then to the Council of Wizards and then up through to Gurn Borim in Arafal and speak with the Dwarves. Then to Cenar to take passage over to Thalasia. We can go to the palace at Emsat and speak to Wagrum, and see if Ulath is available, since he has good rapport with Bhlokw. So we can make sure the Elves, Dwarves, and the Council of Wizards are aware, and we can see if there is any dark influences already at work, before meeting the Troll Gods".
"However," the tall adventuress concludes "if you already know something about the situation of some of these places, we could avoid those that do not require our attention... Or you could simply facilitate us by making our long journey more rapid. This seems to me the main help we could ask of you for now..."
The two gods look at each other and then back to you. "We are restricted by the pact we all agreed to a thousand years ago where gods and mortal men fought side by side, yet nearly destroyed the world, we cannot directly intervene again. This contest is supposed to be fought by champions to decide the fate of this world, not by us gods for that power will destroy it. However, as you have already seen, Azash and his concubine don't play by the rules. We do and must follow the pact. We can say you are on the right path and are doing the right thing. Every time you stop their people and followers; you are putting a win in our side. We are not allowed to disclose more than that, and state how we the gods of these lands are proud to see the people of our distant cousins from across the sea, are as honorable and are true heroes as we hoped."
Then Flute spoke up. "Because they have been cheating, I can take you to where you want to go instantaneously. However, I do have one condition," she gives you that impish smiles of hers, "You must come to my party on my island. Agreed?"
Once Azash is gone, Vrox stows his bow and comes springing and leaping joyfully across the field on his cloven hooves. The wreath of clover flowers on his head bounces jauntily as he makes happy "whoops" and shouts. Vrox says, "It is an honor to meet you again, Mistress Danae of the Flute." He exclaims when they transform the castle into a meadow, "What awesome power! I praise you all for your use of it: wiping away the evil scars left on this land by the Nefarious Duo's followers! I shall ask the bees to visit this meadow so that the land will be a carpet of color every spring!"
When the gods ask how they can assist, Vrox makes a low and formal bow: "I am the Bee Warden of the Summer Court, and I was sent by the Maiden of Summer and the Lord of the Green Wood to help rid Eosia of the malignant influence of the Nefarious Duo. I bear their greetings and thanks to you exalted ones and these heroes. If the Nefarious Duo gains control of this world, their corruption would spread across the planes. Even to the Fey Realms! Given the manner of your coming and the hasty departure of our blood-soaked foe, am I right to say that you are similar to our friend here, whom we call Flue?"Here, he bows again to Flute.
The two gods bow in return. Hanaka replies, "It is good to hear from our distant cousins in the Fey realm, how fare The Maiden of Summer and the Lord of the Green Wood? We hope their forests and gardens are blooming with its everlasting richness of life."
"It seems Azash is a coward after all, for all his might." Clarac had been ready to draw her sword. Thankfully, violence was not necessary.
Clarac drops to one knee and kneels before the gods. "Anything you command, I will do," she says. She is sorry to see the castle go, but if the gods say it was beyond saving, then it must be so.
The two gods bow in return. Hanaka replies, "It is good to hear from our distant cousins in the Fey realm, how fare The Maiden of Summer and the Lord of the Green Wood? We hope their forests and gardens are blooming with its everlasting richness of life."
Vrox answers obliquely, "The sweetly-scented air blows through their domain, and the light of the moon pierces the heart. The Maiden and Lord rule their lands, and each dawn brings a new day."
Vrox is intrigued but afraid of the question about how they could help. He tries to refuse their assistance politely, "For my part, I have joined this fight willingly, and we hope to stop this threat. I hope that our actions find favor with you! I have nothing to trade that could match the value of your assistance, Great and Powerful Ones! You must know that the customs of my homeland would never allow me to request a favor that I could not repay! Some of the Fey Lords can bestow a blessing or boon upon their favored champions, but I am not free to pledge such service since I already serve the Summer Court. "
Flute's party is another matter: "I would happily attend your party, Mistress Danae of the Flute!"
Flute smiles, and with a wave of her hand, and opening appears through which you see a rich glade in the background. The two other gods nod, "We must see to something quick cousin, but shall be along."
Following Flute through the opening, you are in a great glade and meadow, filled with the sounds of wildlife, bird and insect. Light filters through great trees and in the distance, a great white building with Greek columns. You walk along a soft pathway towards the building with Flute leading the way, the birds zipping down and circling her before climbing up into the clear blue sky. Other animals of the forest, grazing in the glade look at your passing, no fear in their eyes.
When you arrive at the great building, inside are fountains of water, long tables of every type of food and drink imaginable. She twirls around with her arms outstretched, and asks "So, what do you think of my little home away from home?"
There is something about this place that is easing your mind, your body does not feel heavy, sore or tired. You are healed mentally and physically, like a great burden has been lifted from your shoulder. "Please, make yourself at home, eat and drink, and enjoy yourselves before the dancing begins!"
Then more people appear, younger people like Flute, though one does look like a Northman and the other like an adventurer. Their voices you do recognize as Hanaka and Romalic, though now they look younger. Hanaka smiles and shrugs his shoulders, "Well, we are the younger gods, we prefer to look younger than we are. Let's get this party started."
Music fills the great hall as more of the younger gods arrive. Sparhawk moves off to the side and takes a seat, with a goblet in his hand. Maynard sits with one of the Younger Gods, enraptured being able to speak to one. Flute points out, " That's my Cousin Setras, he spends more time creating sunsets as he considers himself an artist and intellectual."
She points to another, one with a mischievous look on him, "Thats Klael, he thinks he is a prankster and a comedian, so be careful around him. Over there is Cyrgon, he watches over the oceans and those who fish. He smells like fish too." Flute then points to a very attractive young woman. "Thats Mara, she can steel your heart so be careful. The other woman is Nedra, she is also an intellectual and focus on magic. A little stiff and stuffy, but still nice."
