As the Gilgori falls, there seems to be a slight pause before you hear the sound of thumping footsteps and roars coming from the hallway. It is not the same as the Gilgori, and it seems the floor is shaking like something large is heading your way.
Coming around the corner and trying to wade through the bodies of the fallen Gilgori are three Hobgoblin Warlords. As they are delayed coming into the door, you have initiative.
Vrox was using Tyekanik to see up over the pile of bodies. He hops off of Tyekanik's back, and he moves back to the west while firing arrows at the hobgoblins. He says, "Hobgoblins?! You Fey should be ashamed of taking up arms for the Nefarious Duo!" After firing two arrows at the lead hobgoblin, Vrox ducks behind a column and out-of-sight.
Movement: Jumping down off of Tyek and then moving to the northwest to hide behind a column at the end of his turn. Action: Two attacks with Dragon's Wrath Longbow (150/600) Attack 1 vs. the lead Hobgoblin: 34 Damage: 11 (magical piercing) + 7 (radiant) = 18 (total) Attack 2 vs. the lead Hobgoblin: 21 Damage: 12 (magical piercing) + 7 (radiant) = 19 (total) The first hit does an additional 1 (psychic), or if it was a critical hit, 6 (psychic) Bonus Action: Hide - Stealth: 31 (using Vanish feature, advantage from Shadowfell Brand Tattoo) Free Action: Talking
Tyek is unimpressed: "Fuzzy bears in shining armor? Puny foes for Annam's Greataxe." He does not believe that these hobgoblins were the source of the roaring or the shaking floor.
Movement: None. Continue to fight from the space behind Sparhawk. Action: Two Reckless Attacks with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder). He attacks the first hobgoblin and then shifts attacks to the next if the first one falls. Attack 1: 37, Damage: 64 (thunder) + 21 (force) = 85 (total) Attack 2: 33, Damage: 31 (thunder) + 14 (force) = 45 (total) Bonus Action: if either of the attacks was a critical hit or reduced a creature to 0 HP, the Great Weapon Master feat allows him to make an extra attack as a bonus action. Free Action: Talking
Because of Reckless Attack, all attacks against Tyek have advantage until the start of his next turn.

[[ OOC: @Aaggie - Until the 10-min ritual casting in the room with the portal is either finished or interrupted, Tyek and Vrox are the only two PCs fighting off the reinforcements. After I post for their turns each round, you can just keep rolling for Sparhawk, Yôht, Brother Maynard, and the enemies and moving us to the next round. We've got a nice bottleneck here that we can easily defend until the fallen bodies block the way entirely. Unless the enemies bring powerful magic into play, we should be able to hold them off until Lord Akkron, Khessa, and Clarac are done with their spellcasting. ]]
[[ OOC: I'm not sure which opponents are left. Just the one hobgoblin warlord? ]]
Round 5: Tyekanik
Using his long reach, Tyek flings himself into the counterattack against the hobgoblin.

Your attack finishes off the hobgoblin. For the moment, there is no threat filling the door, and it seems you have a moment to catch your breath
Khessa tries to finish her spell, which will finally prevent the Devils from using the portal.

Tyek took care of the last hobgoblin, but Vrox went back into hiding. His keen ears could hear the heavy footsteps of more foes still approaching. As he fires his bow, Vrox calls out loudly (in Giant): "Have you not heard? We have spoken to Khwaj ourselves. The Troll Gods will honor their agreement and will not join the two dark demons in their war. They now refuse to send their children into to be slaughtered for the Nefarious Duo, who have been lying to the giants. You and your giant-kin should return to your homeland. Khessa keeps casting... she is pretty sure that a bigger enemy will just result in bigger fun for Tyekanik and the others!
