The bridge holds as you cross. The door to your right (east) is open, and looks like several creatures had previously left in a hurry and the path was towards where you had just traveled from. Vrok goes to the corner, and sees where the hallway turns to the west, barely illuminated
Once across the bridge, Vrox moves ahead again. He looks west and, unless he sees an Enemy, heads quietly down that hallway. He's trying to find the Master's Hall, but he walks slowly and carefully, aware that something else could (like him) be hiding in the shadows.

[[ OOC: Remember that Vrox has Darkvision 60-ft, so his Perception checks should not suffer disadvantaged as long as this hallway is at least dimly lit. ]]
"Thank you, Khessa," Clarac thanks Khessa for supporting the bridge as they crossed. She loses track of Vrox very quickly whenever he scouts ahead, but trusts that he is doing his job very effectively.
From your vantage point in the shadows, you see a large chamber with a central area that has two large bonfires that provide limited illumination. They provide just enough to make out a cultist in green, with two more cultist next to him, a third by an altar, and a fourth near an entrance to a room. To the north and to the south are two large devils and two corrupted ogres.
From your vantage point in the shadows, you see a large chamber...
Vrox sneaks quietly back to the group, materializing suddenly from the shadows just before he reaches Khessa. He herds her and the Golgari back around the corner to the south. He quickly relates what he saw ahead in a whisper to the others as he sheathes his Elven Vorpal Sword and equips his Longbow. He proposes, "Give me a 10-count, and then approach. This bow is infused with the power of an ancient gem dragon, and I shall unleash its radiant power upon these fiends: do not pass the 4th column into you see the blast of its light. But then hit them hard and fast. I don't want to get surrounded in there."
Basically, Vrox plans to Misty Step to the southwest corner of the room to unleash a 60-ft cone effect. Vrox can only use this power of his longbow once per day, but unless Lord Akkron has something better than a 12d6 radiant damage AoE spell, he feels like this is a good moment to use that power. But then he'll be stuck in that corner for at least 1 round, so he hopes that the others will immediately attack and draw the attention of the enemies!
Vrox says, "If Tyek leads the charge, he can knock the first cultist out of the way and block the demons on the left side (south). That'll open up the middle and the right for Khessa, Clarac, Sir Sparhawk, and Yôht to engage with the cultists and demons on the right (north). Lord Akkron and Brother Maynard can focus their attacks on any spellcasters to ensure that they cannot disable anyone. Just let me get back behind our fighters before you unleash a Fireball or something like that." While he often scouts ahead for the party, Vrox more than a simple rogue. You remember that he has spoken about fighting in great wars against the Unseelie Court and their monstrous allies in the Feywild.
[[ OOC: I'll wait until the others have a chance to chime in / propose other plans before I post for Vrox's action in the first (hopefully surprise) round. ]]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vrox: Round 1 / Surprise
Not hearing any objections to his plan, Vroxreturns to where he was when he first looked upon the room, hidden in the shadow of a column and with his Longbow in hand. He glances back to ensure that Tyekanik and Khessa and Clarac are in position and ready to charge into the room. He takes a deep breath and starts the attack. He makes hardly a sound as he seems to materialize from the shadows, changing straight toward the first Death Cultist, but he shifts to the left just as he reaches his opponent, as though he plans to sprint past. But then Vrox vanishes in a sparkling mist, reappearing in the SW corner of the room. Turning to face the northeast, he holds his longbow in front of him, parallel to the floor, and triggers the magic infused into the bow from its long years of sitting in an ancient crystal dragon's treasure hoard. A wave of [Tooltip Not Found] energy bursts out, covering almost the entire room. Then Vrox equips his shield and prepares to defend himself until his companions arrive.
Movement: ~15-ft of movement to enter the room and approach the Death Cultist nearest the entrance. Bonus Action: Cast Misty Step, reappearing 30-ft away in the SW corner of the room. Action: Unleash a 60-foot cone of destructive energy from his Dragon's Wrath Longbow. Each creature in the Cone area must make a DC 18 DEX saving throw, or take damage: 45 (radiant). On a successful saving throw, they take half-damage: 22 (radiant). Free Action: Item interaction - equip his Sentinel Shield.
[[ OOC: Vrox has started the assault. Let us know whether the rest of the group needs to roll initiative first. If not, Tyek will be racing into the fight. With Instinctive Pounce, he should have enough movement (60-ft) when he enters a rage to move into the room and into the 2x2 space just south of the ogre on the north. ]]
Khessa rushes forward, unerringly followed by her faithful Alfred, determined to interpose herself between the brave Vrox and his potential adversaries before the element of surprise wears off.
The blonde arcane warrior unleashes a Wave of Sorrow at the nearest enemy, [[ OOC: Presumably the Death Cultist ]] landing a downward slash to the neck, a return strike to the thigh, and a final horizontal slash at waist height.
Your attack catches them all by surprise, so they are stunned at the moment. The rest of the party has initiative with advantage on attcks
Tyekanik: Round 0
When Tyekanik sees Vrox start to move into the room ahead, he starts to sprint north and west, running along the north side of the hallway. As soon as Vrox vanishes in a mist, Tyek lets out a loud roar, "Rwaaaarrrr!", trying to draw the attention of their opponents toward the east hallway so that they won't see where Vrox went. Then, there's the brilliant flash of radiant energy that fills the room. Tyek blinks away the afterimage and enters a rage, growing to Large size just as he passes the last column before the entrance.
Tyek moves into the room and to the right (north). If Khessa failed to kill the first Death Cultist, Tyek simply tries to push the cultist back (toward the fires?) to make room for the knights to get into the room. Then he turns his attention to the Horned Devil in the corner.
Movement: 60-ft of movement (40-ft speed + Instinctive Pounce) to move into the room and to the north. Tyek is now Large and occupies the 2x2 just south of the Corrupted Ogre Chieftan at the north end of the room. Bonus Action: rage, imbuing Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver with thunder damage That also lets him use Instinctive Pounce to gain an extra 20-ft of movement: "As part of the bonus action you take to enter your rage, you can move up to half your speed." Action: Either one or two attacks with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) If the first Death Cultist whom Khessa attacked is still alive, he uses his first attack to make an Unarmed Strike / Push against the cultist: Attack 1: Shove the Death Cultist 5-ft southwest, Athletics for the contested ability check: 31, advantage while raging If Khessa killed the first Death Cultist, he uses his first attack to attack the Horned Devil: Attack 1: 20, Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. (thunder) + Unable to parse dice roll. (force) = 0 (total) In either case, he uses his second attack to attack the Horned Devil: Attack 2: 21, Damage: 32 (thunder) + 12 (force) = 44 (total)
[[ OOC: Sorry, I remembered Persistent Rage and was starting to change the post to have Tyek enter a rage on the round before the assault started, freeing his Bonus Action to use Mighty Impel, but I accidentally clicked submit just as I started to change the post. I'm quoting the post to keep the rolls but adjusting the action. Since Tyek cannot use Instinctive Pounce if he rages before round 1, he has to creep a little closer before the start of the attack so that he can make it into position and out of everyone else's way in round 1. Mighty Impel replaces the shove attack, so he will definitely be making 2 attacks against the Horned Devil this round. ]]
When Tyekanik sees Vrox start to move into position, moves to past the first column in the hallway and crouches down ready to charge. He sets his feet and begins to breathe heavily as he enters a range and grows to Large size.
Movement: Move into the hallway and past the first column. Bonus Action: rage, imbuing Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver with thunder damage
Tyekanik: Round 1
As soon as Vrox enters the room ahead, Tyek starts to sprint north and west, running along the north side of the hallway. When Vrox vanishes in a mist, Tyek lets out a loud roar, "Rwaaaarrrr!", trying to draw the attention of their opponents toward the east hallway so that they won't see where Vrox went. Then, there's the brilliant flash of radiant energy that fills the room. Tyek blinks away the afterimage and charges into the room behind Khessa.
Tyek moves into the room and to the right (north). He reaches out a massive hand to grab one of the cultists, trying to fling him into the one of the fires, making more room for the knights to get into the room. Then he turns raises his Greataxe and strikes at the Horned Devil in the north corner, ignoring the Ogre for now.
Movement: 40-ft speed to move into the room and to the north. Tyek is now Large and occupies the 2x2 just south of the Corrupted Ogre Chieftan at the north end of the room. Bonus Action: Use Mighty Impel against the first Death Cultist (if Khessafailed to kill him) or against the Emerald Cult Leader (if she did). The target must succeed on a DC 22 STR saving throw or be moved to the square with the easternmost fire. Action: Two attacks against the Horned Devil with Annam's Greataxe as his Elemental Cleaver (thunder) Attack 1: 37, Damage: 55 (thunder) + 41 (force) = 96 (total) Attack 2: 27, Damage: 33 (thunder) + 22 (force) = 55 (total)
