...or may have something...like a book... that was in the trapped drawer. Vairae’s diary from before their obsessions set them on the path to undeath. The final few pages discuss Vairae’s defeat of Shadow Witch Geherel and her discovery of the Soulstone Grimoire.
Hanaphaen approaches, and adds, "I am not sure of this means anything, but if you are looking for a name, perhaps Aethilen. There is an illusion of his younger self, with his friend, where he keeps saying “We’ll seize eternity together, Aethilen.”
"I will go take a look,"Akkron says, apparently in the mood to do something substantial in a place full of monsters that are immune to necrotic damage.
Investigation: 16 (rolled in game log, passive 21). His familiar, Hex the cat, helped, but somehow the roll was even worse the second time.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
[[ OOC: Well... Khessa and Clarac are probably at the Phylactery's door... and asked for help with a riddle to open it... ]]
[[OOC: Got it. I've been out of the country for work with not much time for my games this week. I'll try to catch up and see where Vrox and Tyek can help. Vrox learned that witch's name from the journal in the wax-covered desk, and it looks like he persuaded Haraphaen to give us another name. 2 down, 1 to go.]]
Khessa quickly runs to the hole and shares the new ridere riddle with the others, hoping someone might know those names...
Vrox is intrigued. He loves riddling speech and puzzles! At first, he misunderstands, thinking that it's a riddle about who created the adamantine door itself. While Tyek hacks fruitlessly at the wall of the magical tree, Vrox asks Yôht to see whether the dwarf knows anything about ancient craftsman who could have crafted the door.
But maybe the subject of the riddle is not the door. Could it be the tower? But it seems like High Mage Vairae created the tower himself. Talking through the riddle, Vrox says, "And even if the High Mage had help creating this tower, I doubt that he'd give credit! He seems quite conceited: you saw all of those statues of himself around his war room."
And then he realizes that the High Mage was the one who created the inscription on the door. "Ah...of course! The riddle must be about the proud mage himself!"
Vairae’s diary from before their obsessions set them on the path to undeath. The final few pages discuss Vairae’s defeat of Shadow Witch Geherel and her discovery of the Soulstone Grimoire.
Remembering the diary, Vrox opens it again and gives Khessa one of the names who "made" this lich: the Shadow Witch Geherel.
Hanaphaen approaches, and adds, "I am not sure of this means anything, but if you are looking for a name, perhaps Aethilen. There is an illusion of his younger self, with his friend, where he keeps saying “We’ll seize eternity together, Aethilen.”
Vrox is happy that the party didn't just kill the devils. Haraphaen has proven himself to be very helpful...even if it's only because the destruction of the lich sounds with the devil's own self interest to free himself from the lich's magic.
Vrox and Tyekanik can accompany Lord Akkron downstairs to look for information about High Mage Vairae and to help him in case he stumbles into any more guards or traps.
Vrox remembers that there were various statues down on the 2nd floor map room. Maybe one of those statues will reveal some information about the High Mage's history and origins.
Returning to the room where all of the statues are, and the map in the middle of the room, all of the statues appear to be Vairae in different heroic posturing, except one. There is one statue of a bowing elf to the different Vairae statues.
There is one statue of a bowing elf to the different Vairae statues.
Vrox points out the statue of the bowing elf to Lord Akkron. Vrox doesn't know the name of the depicted elf. Other than his Favored Enemies (fey, fiends, and giants), he doesn't know much about History. (6, in game log).
If Lord Akkron does not know the name of the elf, Vrox examines the statue for an ennscription or plaque that records the name of the bowing elf. Perception: 29 (in game log). Or, if not the elf's name, something that might help them identify him, like the year or the name of the battle.
[[OOC: if that should have been Investigation, it would be 24 because of his modifier in that skill.]]
Vrox is certainly happy to Help, if that's allowed. He's no good at History, but with that Perception/Investigation check, perhaps he noticed some key detail of the kneeling elf or how the scene is depicted in sculpture? Or maybe Vrox can find some info related to this bowing elf, if not the elf's name, in Vairae's diary? Anything to help jog Lord Akkron's memory.
You recall an old tale of a renowned Gael Wode noble who died in battle defending her queen from an invasion of devils, though at the moment the name is evading you.
You look intently at the statue, though it seems more care went into the details of Vairae then to the bowing statue. Then the memory comes back, of the general who died defending her queen, General Phadanar. A tale of legend, or a true hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the darkest hour.
If Khessa is made aware of what has been discovered, she goes to the door and confidently pronounces the three names, one after the other: "Geherel! Aethilen! Phadanar!"
Then the blonde arcane warrior tries to open...

Yoht scratches his chin, "Perhaps something down below on that armory floor may have something that has a name to it."
"Can someone go to check quickly?" Khessa asks "We already have two names, Geherel and Aethilen. Just a last name should grant us access..."
