"To call absolute debauchery a 'philosophy' is a rather interesting take,"he says somberly. "It has been many centuries since I have even been capable of partaking in the pleasures of the flesh, and all I can remember now is how consuming in that forbidden fruit destroyed both my life and countless others... but that is a tale for another time. For now we need to focus on dealing with whatever madness is here and making sure that the followers of this cult are utterly stamped out before their so-called 'faith' destroys more innocent lives."
"Heh, less the debauchery and more the finding pleasure in every moment,"Tyekanik says, then grins adding, "Either way, let's get back to smashing slavers."
"And these 'eternals' call being slaves to their own whims... 'pleasure'?" Khessa shakes her head in disbelief "Yeah, sure, way to go... I wonder if they have forgotten the feeling of having close someone you love... or if they are simply so ignorant and miserable that they have never felt it".
The blonde arcane warrior, as she approaches the door, nevertheless tries to question Brother Maynard again, as the most expert member of the party on the subject of crazy deities: "The number '6' in pink and the name 'Sai'lanthresh' in purple mean anything to you? Can you think of any connection with our dear 'Slaanesh'?"
Brother Maynard, using the same old tome, flips through some more of the pages, his fingers running along the pages, you see his mouth move silently as he is reading the text. After a few moments, he does a quick nod and looks up.
"I believe, and this is really old, almost beyond ancient even, that is the script of the language of the Gods. This name does appear in several places from that period, corresponding with all things, the number 6. It is from one of the races that don't exist, that was destroyed to a person during that dark time, the Aeldari, who referred to this foul entity only as Sai'lanthresh, She Who Thirsts. Its the true name of Slaanesh, and true names hold power over these dark entities, though I know they are effective against demons, not sure about a dark goddess."
Khessa takes note in her spellbook, with concentration and attention, of all the new information discovered on the mythical Aeldari and on this dark goddess... in particular 'Sai'lanthresh', her real name; regardless of how much 'power' this may give over her, knowledge is still always a form of power in her way...
"Thanks Maynard!" the blonde arcane warrior smiles, grateful, when she has finished "You are always a precious source of knowledge..." she then turns to the others "Master Akkron... Mal... Do you detect any magical or mechanical traps in this door?"
After that, if the two friends do not spot anything suspicious, she opens the new door.

There is nothing to indicate there are any traps on the door, though you do feel a heavy dark magical essence from inside of the room. When you open the doors, it is a large temple approximately 70 feet long and 40 feet wide. There are four large columns supporting the ceiling, in the center is a large statue, and at the far end is an alter. There are large torches burning from the columns in an almost purple and pinkish hue. The walls and floor are also of the same mostly purple, with highlights in silver and pink. There are several unique symbols in the four corners of the temple.
Now that the doors are open, can we understand where the flow of heavy dark magic is coming from? Does it emanate from the statue, as it did in the temple of Azash? Or from the altar? Or from some other point or item?
"This should be interesting," Mal says as she turns to Khessa, "Yell out Khessa, if anything rises to stab me in the back." Mal Chuckles as she moves out.
Mal will look about the room and then slowly approach the statue, as cautiously as she can, and then look about it for any traps. Then she will proceed to the pillars and then lastly check she will move towards the alter to check it out.

The torches radiate magic, constant burning in the odd colors. There is a dark energy coming from the statue, and from the alter, specifically a black knife resting on top of the alter.

You do not detect any traps, though it does feel like something is watching you. The only sound is the sputtering of the torches
"It is probably in our best interests to have Alfred pick that blade up... we can put it with the small idols for now. After that is taken care of we can deal with the statue."

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
"Good idea, Master Akkron" Khessa approves, sending the faithful Alfred to take custody of the disturbing object.
"But here even the torches are magical..." the blonde arcane warrior remembers "Maybe it would be better to at least turn them off" and with that, she begins to try to turn them off with magic(*), one at a time.
(*) Among the effects of Prestidigitation there is also 'You instantly light or snuff out a candle, a torch, or a small campfire'. This is what Khessa tries to do, to extinguish the torches one by one. In the absence of other forms of illumination, she can cast Light.

Alfred picks up the blade, and safely secures it with the other idols.

As you attempt to extinguish the torches, they go out for only a second, then come back again. You hear a soft, mocking laughter echoing throughout the room.
"Well, you did even less than us, I think, pathetic immortal..." Khessa counters and tries a different strategy: she begins to hit the torches with repeated Fire Bolts... whose fire is capable of harming not only living creatures, but also objects.
'If I destroy the wood of the torches,' the blonde arcane warrior reasons 'the magic in them should be destroyed as well. Or, if the magic is in the torch fire, once the wood is destroyed that fire should have nothing left to burn...'
Meanwhile, the tall adventuress also thinks about the statue: "Friends, if you want, I can 'honor' this statue in the same way I honored that of Azash... Or one of us, maybe a big and strong one," she winks at Tyekanik "would rather destroy it himself with an oversized axe for exercise?"
Tyekanik chuckles, "Evil gods and their friends need fewer statues." He then grows in size and begins to walk towards the statue, waiting for any response, either from his companions, or the voice. If there is nothing, he'll take a swing at the statue.
"Hack away my friend." As Mal raises her crossbow to her shoulder and fires a bolt into one of the eyes of the statues, hoping to damage them enough so they can no longer "see". If that does not seem to do anything, she will try and remove one of the torches on the wall that Khessa is targeting and use the flame of the torch to light the statue on fire, once Tye is done hacking at it.
Your firebolts do destroy the torches, but the colors remain, springing to life around the column, keeping the room illuminated.
As Tyakanik advances towards the statue, it begins to shimmer and a very shapely, attractive and in human form, woman steps out and consolidates before you, though standing 8 feet tall.
Akkron sighs.

"Great, looks like we're about to fight a god," Akkron says dryly. "I should really have prepared dispel magic for the demon torches... oh well."
(OOC: Is Tye the only one who needs to make a Wis save, or is this an AoE that hits all of us?)
