Reggie throws open the doors and sets the bucket down. "Strahd!" he hollers, more to alert his companions than to address the vampire. He takes a few steps out of the church, displaying his empty hands at his sides and not once looking at the child. "We just took care of your little gift to Father Donavich. Just like we took care of your wolves before." He continues in the jarring, dissonant language that none of his companions understand:
"We're tired of playing your games, demon. Aren't you? Wouldn't you rather,"
Reggie begins moving his left hand in a small circle at his side, his index finger creating a strange, invisible symbol in the air, still speaking in Infernal,
"put your trust in me so that I may watch over you?"
Sizan slowly looks to over to Reggie. There was some surprise there. A mix of annoyance. A dash of confusion. And a pinch of hysteria to the look. But otherwise, his expression was overall blank. He turns back to strahd after the brief moment, and just... quietly facepalms and shakes his head rather than try to say anything else.

"Strahd?!!"Andrei cries as he rushes outside, glowing ice ax in hand. He stands beside Reggie, pointing the weapon at Strahd, but lowers it slightly at Reggie's words.
"Hope you know what you're doing,"he mutters, gesturing to stop Tilo from charging the vampire.
"We just took care of your little gift to Father Donavich. Just like we took care of your wolves before."
Strahd smiles at Reggie. "How adorable, as I recall I made the wolves leave so they wouldn't eat you."
Reggie begins moving his left hand in a small circle at his side, his index finger creating a strange, invisible symbol in the air, still speaking in Infernal,
Strahd scowls and rushes towards Reggie and grabs him in a bear hug before biting down on his neck, sucking the life force out of him. (14 damage, Max HP go down 7) Once he is finished he drops Reggie onto the ground. "Ah, a little taste of things to come. Don't be so hasty to die plaything. Next time I won't be as nice."
Strahd snaps his fingers and the wolf bites down on the child's neck killing it instantly. "A child for a child. This death is on you, Reggie."
Strahd looks at the rest of the group with a smile on his lips and Reggies blood dripping down his chin. "Anyone else care to do something foolish?"
He turns to Sizan "Sizan is it? Are you one of my new playthings as well? I did not invite you into my land."

"It's only on me because I wasn't strong enough to kill you now," Reggie rasps as he holds a hand to his neck. "That won't always be the case." Unlike before, the man can't take his eyes off the child's corpse.
Even Sizan is not so fearless as to keep from flinching hearing the sound of fangs pierce flesh, and again soon after that of bone in the child's case. But he kept his composure for the most part, and went from facepalming to nose bridge pinching with eyes squeezed shut until Strahd chose to address him.
"... Something of the sort. A... 'gift' from your old fri-.... former confederates. Presumably, in hopes that your latest game lasts longer than a few weeks... This time." He says, dropping his hands again behind to keep clasp behind them. Sizan turns as well to face Strahd, but kept his gaze lowered to the man's feet. Whether out of subservience or suspicion however, it is hard to tell.
"More than that, I'm afraid, we will both have to see. As so few things have been made clear to me." He answers solemnly. "On the matter of... purpose. I do not suppose you have further need of that." He asks, gesturing over in the loose direction of the child's body. "Though your other pets are no doubt a bit peck-ish. Having him--"He gestures over to Reggie. "--bury it, would possibly do wonders as an ongoing reminder for my dear compatriot."
Reggie's face hardens for a moment, his hands going to the hilts of his swords. But then, his eyes still on the child, his face melts into misery and his arms slacken. "Strahd," Reggie pleads, "let us return this child to its family to allow them to say good-bye and bury them properly. You have had your revenge. Isn't that enough?"
'Don't stress. He's just trying to rile you up... like everyone else in this godforsaken place' Sizan thought as he daintily rubbed his forehead. "Mostly, as he placed it." He says, gesturing over to Reggie. "And to clarify the first part, much as I would like-..." He pauses and frowns, then clicks his tongue. "Actually no. I owe them nothing. Madam Eva and the Vistani. They sent me here. Why? I have /no/ idea at this point. But if you have a particular grievance about this, well... I am sure you know where to find them."He says dryly.

Strahd thinks for a moment and whistles. The wolves run away towards the forest leaving the child on the ground.
"It seems I have to pay a visit to Madam Eva. The child is yours, Reggie. She was one of the soulless so it is no loss for Barovia. Whatever you have planned I will be watching. I am growing tired of these games though. You are not much better than the ones past."
With that Strahd turns into mist and floats away towards the direction of the Vistani Camp.
Reggie hurries over to the child and drops down beside it, his hands hovering above the lifeless body. He looks at Lando. "Lando, can you do something?" he asks with a hint of desperation.
Sizan goes back to rubbing his forehead and muttering under breath just as soon as Strahd leaves the group. But after awhile, he mutters something along the lines of "getting the shovels" in passing as he made his way back inside.
Reggie watches as Lando attempts to bring the child back. When the cleric looks up and shakes his head, Reggie sits back and sighs. He begins speaking in the jarring language — having a conversation with no one — his face slowly changing from pain to anger.
In Infernal:
"Why couldn't I stop him?"
"You weren't strong enough."
"But you were supposed to help me protect people."
"I am helping you. But our bond is weak right now. If you had just accepted the bond when you were younger —"
"No! No more excuses. I ... I can't see anymore innocents get hurt."
"Alright. Then we have work to do."
The fighter stands, the anger leaving his face. "We should ask Ismark and Father Donavich if they know this child. His parents should know."
Father Donavich comes outside and sees the small child on the ground and makes some kind of symbol in the air praying to the morning lord to watch over the departed soul of the child. "I know this child's parent. I will talk to them. I will also bury them. It's time to start doing again and not let Strahd bully us around anymore. I will see you all in the morning at Dawn so we can perform the ceremony for Ismark's father. Once that is done I suggest getting Ireena as far away from here as possible."

"Thank you Father. I am sorry for your losses."
Lando shuffles from foot to foot, uncomfortable with the situation.
"Shall we head back to the tavern?"
