Ash simply stands there as the chainsaw comes down. He blinks and looks down at his bloody chest, then looks back up at the construct still smiling, "So you dare challenge me?!"He exclaims, drawing his greatsword. With the amount of damage delt, he's glad he put himself in front of Nekane.
Violet gasps, grabbing onto Lozak and wrapping several eyestalks around him protectively!
"You... leave us alone, you nasty rust-bucket!" she exclaims, pointing at the construct with her hand that isn't currently stroking Lozak comfortingly.
Several of her eyes light up as she casts hex on the construct (STR), then shoots at it with both her Eldritch Blast beams
Nekane, in his leap out of the way, manages to stick himself onto the ceiling along with Pan, using his slippers of Spider Climbing (which he had forgotten about somehow). Standing upside, down on the ceiling, he squats to keep his head as far away from the chainsaw as possible. Then he casts Heat Metal on the thing, hoping to make it at least malfunction...
As Nekane makes the metal construct heat up, the form starts melting until a jumble of limbs is all that is left of the construct, his chainsaw laying next to him.
Now all you hear is the motion of the ladders next to you.
A bizarre contraption lies across an open pit – four ladders, each two and a half feet wide and divided by a wall in the middle, shake and move in opposite directions. It's about 20' to the next platform past these moving ladders.
Pan holds his stomach which is now bleeding but not too badly, "ah bollocks, I liked this shirt too, stupid hunk o' junk. Eh! someone take that lightning saw thing, it bites like a damn snake in heat!" Observing the ladders, Pan looks to the others, "well I can jus' climb the damn wall, Vi floats and get the rest o' ya could make use o' ropes if'n ye think yer gonne fall" he pulls out a grappling hook and hands it to Lozak, "it's gonne either be you or Ash that canne keep yer balance, so feel free to borro' this til ye get over, aye!?" He gives Loz a grin which very transparently tells him that Pan is very much taking the piss, but the offer is made all the same.
Ash picks up the chainsaw thing and looks it over curiously. He doesn't particularly want to replace his sword, but no point in leaving something like this behind where potential enemies may pick it up right?
He cocks his head at Pan. "Haha! You are probably right about that! But do not worry about me. I can make it across just fine!"Despite his words, he waits for the others to go ahead of him. Mostly because he wants to make sure they all really do make it across.
Nekane jumps to the floor, then brushes his hands together as if ridding them of dirt, "Well, that's taken care of." He says this in a matter-of-fact tone, likely trying to cover up his earlier panic. Then he looks to the moving ladders, "Well that's curious isn't it? Who want's to go first?"
He looks down at the slippers he's wearing, "I could just walk across too." He eyes Ashtar, "I could walk on the wall alongside you... as a spotter, if you'd like."
Lozak looks at the grappling hook as Pan hands it to him, and then looks across the divide and the strange ladder contraption. He vaguely realizes that Pan is goading him, but his eyes shift to Violet and then he begins to dust himself off and cough.
"Much obliged, my friend." Lozak says to Pan as he side eyes Violet. "No worries about me, my dear. I was trying to create enough of a distraction that we could dispatch that awful thing with minor injuries. I'll say it seems to have been a rousing success, wouldn't you?"
His gaze shifts from Violet back to Pan, and then he winds up and throws the grappling hook across the divide...and misses miserably, almost hooking it into the ladders instead...
"ahhh sod all of ya!" Pan grunts, half in amusement and half in frustration as Lozak fails to throw a hook properly, "gimmie that, I'll attach it to the other side an' then ye can all cross without fallin' to her deaths. Right? Right." With that he reels the grappling hook back in, leaving the other end in Lozak's hand and then tucks the hook to his belt before he begins climbing across on the wall to the other side.
Once Pan has side walked along the wall to the other side of the moving ladders, he is able to secure the grappling hook for the others to use the rope and get across without issue.
After the party gets across the rickey, moving ladders, they take a minute on the other side where the flooring is firm to take stock. Pan unhooks his grappling hook and puts the rope and hook back into his pack.
Coming from the wall behind them, you can all hear a whirring noise and a soft voice.. but cannot make out the words.
Pan leans against the wall listening to the noise and gathers everyone's attention with a gesture, then pointing at the wall signalling something on the other side.
Instead of going to investigate though, Pan pulls out his tankard and watches it magically fill with ale once more, then he takes a seat on the floor and has a break. Grinning to himself as he shoos the others away to deal with the monster.
Ashtar looks at Pan with his usual somewhat blank smiling expression, then turns and simply opens the door with the whirring noise behind it. No stealth, or anything. He just opens it and walks in as if it's the most normal thing in the world.
Nekane lets out a sigh, then follows Ash through the door... slinking a little as he's not sure what to expect and doesn't want to get chopped to pieces.
Ashtar heads around the corner and opens the door that he assumes the sound is coming from. As he opens the door, he finds a man riding a stationary bike. He is a bright-eyed man, almost maniacal as he rides, wearing a top hat and cape, he chants, “just keep on peddling, yep, that’s what I do, THAT’S WHAT I LOVE TO DO!”
Looking around him, he is in a small room that only holds himself and his stationary bike that he is riding with enthusiasm.
Lozak steps into the room behind Ash and Nekane and looks around, whistling to himself as he watches the fella on the bike peddle for all he is worth.
"My my my my...these digs you have here are just...not suitable." He says, catching a whiff of the guy's stink. Peddling like that was sweaty business, afterall. The Tiefling steps around, looking at the bike to see why the guy liked peddling it so much.
"Um... hello," Violet says uncertainly. "Would you happen to know anything about Happy Jack? Or about a bunch of children who are supposed to be in this place somewhere?"

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
"Happy Jack? Why yes! He's the man that made this incredible place possible! Children? Children love this place, but I don't see much of them as I just keep peddling! Why? CAUSE THAT'S WHAT I LOVE TO DO!!!" He shouts this last part as he picks up speed for a short burst then continues back to his original speed.

With all the people inbetween Violet and the construct, the blasts do not make it through and hit the walls instead.
Brandishing his greatsword, Ash exclaims, "IGNITE!" and flames erupt around the black blade. Then he slashes twice at the construct.

Violet smiles at Lozak's assurances.
"Well, that was the bravest scream of terror I've ever heard," the beholderkin giggles.
Regarding getting across the chasm of death:
"Um... I can float... but only in place... or up and down. Once we get the rope across the pit I could pull myself to the other side that way."
