Unsure of what to make of Ashtar and his very upbeat way about him, Megan still heads out the door and points in the Easterly direction that has a road to follow. She then turns to look at Violet, her eyes obviously not sure which eye to look upon as she takes in what the girl said.
"Well, I have been on the other side of the door, so have the other parents. It's a funhouse, the kids went and came back and did it again several times... until they didn't come back. We went on the ride again, searched for them... " her voice cracks as she says this, "but they are just gone. And the funhouse... well it isn't as fun as it was when it arrived. It's hard to explain."
She turns to Nekane, eyebrow raised, "Other towns? I have no idea." She then smiles, you can see a bit of who she is on a normal day when she does, "My son's name? It's Briggs. What's yours? Actually, none of you have told me your names?" And she starts leading the way towards Fernwood.
It is a nice summer evening as you set off. The soft breeze rustles the trees as the party follows Megan down the dirt road. That is, unless you stop her.
"Oh, how silly of us... I'm Violet," the aberration says with a little smile. "And since I suspect you've been wondering since you saw me, I'm a Beholder... well, beholderkin technically speaking, but that's mostly an academic distinction."

Nekane puts the boy's name to memory, smiling as he says, "Oh, of course."He gives a courtly bow and says, "Nekane Jabez at your service."Still grinning, he turns towards the road and gestures for her to lead the way. Having more than filled up on food in the tavern, he couldn't be happier simply heading out.
"pan motherf*cking fleetfist!" Calls out pan from wherever Ashtar put him down, "and I fer one fink we could do wif an 'orse or two! I ain't walking for a day and an 'ahf like this!" He gestures swayingly to the vomit on the floor before stumbling after the group.
Megan attempts a smile as each introduce themselves to her. As the halfling mentions horses, her ears perk up. "Really? That would be a great idea, I'm exhausted and it would get us there sooner! Anyone know of a stable nearby?"
Seeing that you all have been in Baldurs Gate the greater part of a week or more, most of you have wandered parts of the town. Knowing you're heading out the East gate by what Megan has said, those that roll a history of DC 12 or higher will know there is a stable near that gate.
"They call me Idol." Lozak says, reaching out to take Megan's hand. When she jerks it away, he shrugs. "I tried."
He relies on the others to remember where the horse stables are. He simply unslings Axe and begins to walk behind the group, picking ominous high notes as they go, and singing little ditties that make no sense to anyone but him...if they make sense to him.
"When you say the fun house isn't fun anymore...what does that mean?" Lozak says as he picks his notes. "Like is it bad fun? Not fun? Downright scary? Jive with me."
Nekane rolls his eyes at the other tiefling before telling Megan, "That. Is Lozak. If you cared to know that is."He chuckles a little before looking to Pan, "I suppose you are right... though walking might do you some good."He shrugs, then smiles at Violet, "A pony? Well I suppose we could get one for a discount. If it's half the size of a horse it should be half the price right?"He laughs, "Though honestly, I could do without a mount. If you wish for a pony then I can pitch in." He looks into his coin pouch, realizing that he has far more money than he thought he did... was there something else he'd planned on buying? He can't remember, oh well.
He turns on his heel and begins walking towards the east gate, "Well then, are we all buying fine new steeds? If we are short on cash I can serve as a horse. I wouldn't mind walking..." He chuckles, then adds, "But no one is putting a saddle on me."
Megan eyes Lozak, unsure what to think of the man, but she wasn't about to let him kiss her hand, not after that song.
She looks at the ground as they continue to walk, hearing that Violet knows where the stable is but just trudging along. "Not fun. It has changed... I wouldn't say downright scary, but the last time I was in it was yesterday, so who knows. Even the organ grinder.." she trails off.
As the group heads towards the East Gate, Violet veers off the main road to the stables she was talking about. There is a decent size building that appears to house several different sizes of carriages as well as a decent amount of horses in the adjoining stable. Even a couple of mules at the far end. By those two, you notice a man shoveling out fresh straw for their stalls.
"Loz is an organ grinder! Ain'cha boyo! Haha!" At this point Pan very much has the giggles and is managing to keep one hand on Ashtar's leg to balance himself as the group walk, the other hand using the massive pole as a walking stick. However much the genasi paladin may possibly protest, Pan clings on for fear that the ground may rise up quickly to meet him.
"Yes! Horses are a fine idea Pan! Let us find ourselves some fine steeds!" Ashtar says loudly. Then he pauses trying and failing to remember where the stable is when Megan asks. Laughing at the two tieflings, he turns to Violet. "Who ever said that you could not have a pony?"
Glad that the beholderkin seemed to remember the stable's location, he moves to follow her. However, he is stopped in his attempt to stride forward and keep pace with her after noticing Pan using his leg to balance himself. He smiles down at the wobbly giggling halfling and does not protest in the slightest. In fact, he slows down so the shorter man can keep pace with him and the tall genasi even places a hand on his head to steady him when his balance leans to far one way or the other.
As they walk, he listens to what Megan says. He clearly is giving her as much of his attention as he possibly can despite the drunken halfling grabbing his leg, but it may be hard to tell how seriously he is taking her words due to the perpetual smile on his face. Once again, he reassures her that he and his companions will get it all sorted out before heading over and talking to the stable man, all but dragging Pan with him as he goes.
"Hello there my fine sir! My companions and I require horses for our journey. Please! Show us your finest!" He says enthusiastically.
"Nekane always spoils my fun." Lozak says with pouty inflection. "If you ever try to call yourself Idol or Beefcake or Studs McLovin he'll correct it every time. It's a travesty."
He winks at Pan and then throws finger guns his way.
"But let me guess....this organ grinder is an actual organ grinder, right? So dramatic. I'm sure your kids are just hiding out up there and not ready to go home yet but, what the heck. We can go play hide and seek if that's what they want, sure."
When Ashtar begins asking for horses, Lozak steps close to him and pulls his Axe from his back.
"Let me negotiate those prices, eh? It's been awhile since I got to word-fu someone."
Megan smiles at the show of the drunken halfling attached to the very good spirited fire genasi. She nods as he continues to try and reassure her, but the worry in her face never leaves.
The stable hand seems surprised to see the strange looking group walk up, but composes himself quickly and replies, "Sure, let me get my boss." And he sets aside his shovel and disappears through a door behind the carriages.
A few moments later a dwarf comes walking out to meet you. He has a bald head other than the low ring of gray hair that wraps around behind his ears, a long gray beard that about comes to his knees and is wearing what looks like overalls. "Good evening, we're about ready to close here, how can I help you?"
"My good sir, it sounds like we are just in time!" Lozak says, his voice absolutely gross with persuasion. "My companions and I were just passing through and in need of transportation when this fine young lass brought us to you! What a wonderful coincidence for us both!"
Lozak slowly starts to pick a little tune on the Axe as he talks, sweet and melodic, intoxicating the air with disarming music.
"You see, we are in need of transportation! I see you have horses and mules, and I tell you I am quite a fan of mules! Stout beasts that they are! We need a ride out to Fernwood, my friend, and it is my understanding that you are just the merchant who can help us. I want to buy from you both of those fine mules and your best carriage. Something comfortable for my friends and I. See, I'm not sure where we go from Fernwood but we can always use a good and reliable ride. Now, I know this is an expensive request, but let's make a deal. What is your best price for such a purchase? You knock off some cost, and my guarantee to you is that every time I get on a stage I'll direct everyone to your fine stables to all their equestrian needs. Friend, you'll have so many people here trying to make purchases that you'll have trouble maintaining stock!"
"16g for the pair and 100g for the carriage is what our typical cost is, but I like the cut of your jib (crit on neg), how about 75g for the lot? Those mules have been well.. I mean, they are a joy!"
Lozak smiles, and reaches into his belt, pulling out a coin purse. He counts out the 75 gold, and tosses in an extra for good measure.
"It was a pleasure." Lozak says, waiting for their new ride to be brought out. "You're not going to regret this! You need to go buy more inventory! By the end of the week, you're gonna be flooded!"
The dwarves eyes seem to bulge out a bit as he considers the possibility of being flooded with requests for his services. And he already is thinking about the new carriage he will need to buy with the gold he just acquired.
The stablehand gets the mules hooked up to the carriage and leads it out for you all to board. He looks at you all uncertainly, "Any of you know how to drive this thing?"
Not waiting to listen to the answer, Megan scrambles on in, ready to get moving to Fernwood.
Violet glances at the carriage.... then she smiles at the seller. Her numerous eyes all gaze at the man curiously.
"So... would it be too much to ask if you can sell me a pony? A cute little horsey that I can brush and play with and name Buttercup... unless it's a boy, then maybe I'll call him Westley... oh, yes, and I suppose you'll want some gold... 15 should be enough for a tiny little horse, yes? Of course it will! Here you go."
Violet rolled 21 on her Persuasion check...presumably bamboozling the man into going with whatever she says.

The dwarf looks at Violet with fascination. You can tell he is using all his willpower not to reach out and touch one of her tentacled eyes. “What..are you?” He mumbles, but then quickly recovers as he realizes she is trying to make a business transaction.
He rubs his hand behind his neck and looks a tad sheepish, like he really wishes he could give her what she is asking for. “I’m sorry, miss. But I don’t have any ponies or cute little horseys. I just have ones that folks’ll wanna ride all day and to get to where they’s goin. I am sorry.”
Nekane gives Lozak a sideways look saying, "Well, I doubt she would have taken to calling you Idol, so I assumed you would prefer your own name to whatever she might decide to call you after your stunt on the table earlier..." He pauses, seeming to reconsider for a moment before ultimately shrugging and chuckling to himself.
"Fantastic, I was going to ask for a mule anyways," he says once Lozak successfully acquires the carriage and animals. Snickering, he leans over and whispers to Megan, "See, he can be useful when he wants to be."
Then he walks over and puts and arm over Lozak's shoulder, saying to the stricken stableman, "You've made a good choice sir. If anyone can assure your stable is heard of it's Lozak here. He'll have the herds coming in no time." He heartily claps his fellow tiefling on the back and says, "Good choice with the carriage buddy, it will be easier to find lodging for two animals instead of six when we reach our destination."
When Violet inquires after a pony but is ultimately disappointed, Nekane says, "Don't worry, we'll find a pony for you. But... perhaps it's a good thing we can't get one yet. After all, we'd have to leave it outside when we investigate the funhouse. Better to wait until you have time to devote to it so it has time to bond with you." He winks, then turns to Ashtar, "So sir knight, are you going to pilot our fine carriage? It seems our client is more than ready to get moving!" He stands near the back of the wagon, waiting for the others to get in before doing so himself.
