"Okay, we'll do our best to find you then Megan once we found your son, just get yourself somewhere safe now." The investigator says to the client with a reassuring smile. He then calls upon his tiny raven assistant Edgar from his pocket plane to invisibly scout ahead from above with instructions to continously report back anything of interest to their case. Myles then nods to the others and follows along, keeping at the center of the team if possible.

With Nephvir around 30' in the lead and the rest of you under the fog of protection from Necyra, you all get to the center of town without being seen or seeing anyone. The town is pretty typical for it's size. Buildings are in decent shape, gardens and such are cared for. The scent of the sweets and grilled foods grow stronger as you enter the town center.
Once you arrive, the commonplace village scene is completely torn away as you gaze upon what has been constructed here. Across the square is the centerpiece of a 20-foot-tall by 60-foot-wide apparent building that doesn't seem to be very deep. It is painted with pink hippos, a swarm of snakes, a mechanical man carrying a strange tool or weapon, and hundreds of multi-colored dots the size of cantaloupes. All of this is painted around a 15-foot-tall by 15-foot-wide smiling face, its mouth open and painted black.
On the left of the funhouse are several carnival-style food stands, five of them in fact. The people behind manning them do not appear to be moving.
The lights that you saw when you arrived to town are emanating from three large animated barrels on the ground near the funhouse. They are rotating, shining bright, colorful lights into the sky, illuminating the low white clouds above.
And the last thing you see is an old woman, covered in what was at one point colorful rags, cranking an organ grinder while a zombie-looking monkey tumbles and dances near her feet. Behind the organ grinder is an odd-looking mine cart, carved and painted to resemble the head of a dragon, sits on a metal rail.
As you're all taking in the odd sight, Megan slips away calling back over her shoulder, "I'll be right back!" and heads into the tavern that is facing the square.
And a moment later, true to her word, Megan and a group of other adults come piling out of the tavern, all looking about as haggard as your new friend. They all start chatting at once after Megan points you out through the stealthy veil you're all under. "Oh, thank the gods, they sent adventurers!" "My child, please help her!" "Yes, we all have children that have been trapped!" "It's been days, do you think they are ok?" "We've been too scared to enter, we don't want to make Happy Jack mad!" "Please, please go save them!" "Yes! we will pay you a reward!!"
To'Kurr stares at the colourful lights for a moment, his head bobbing to music only he seems to be able to hear, before noticing the unmoving people behind the food stands.
"What's with those dudes?" To'Kur asks.
He takes a few steps closer, trying to get a better look at who/what are manning the food stands, more or less ignoring the parents from the tavern.
Siszhu heads left. Food stands always hold promise! And if there are workers here they might have answers… and more importantly, Siszhu doesn’t want them behind him.
As Siszhu and To'Kur get closer to the food stands, they can see that the ones running the stands are mechanical humanoids, metal robots. There is a slot on each stand that looks like it could fit a silver coin.
To'Kurr keeps an eye on the zombie monkey and the old woman, losing some interest in the mechanical creatures. He goes to the edge of the funhouse, looking to walk around the outside seeing if there are any other doorways, windows, etc.
While Siszhu and To'Kurr starts the investigation, Myles turns to handle the worried parents. "Please get back inside, I can assure you we are professionals, even if all of us don't look the part. But first, is there anything you have seen that you can tell us about, Happy Jack's employees over there, have you tried talking to them for instance?" He asks calmly, hoping to acquire some helpful information about what they are heading into.
Siszhu shrugs. Siszhu rummages through his gear a bit. Siszhu comes up with a silver coin and sticks it into the mechanical vendor. Siszhu is hoping he gets some Toast on a Stick!

Necyra is ever distrusting…this whole mission is making her uncomfortable. She still doesn’t know what to think or believe, other than she has faith in her team. She trusts them implicitly.
She’ll let Myles handle the wet work, smoothing over relations with the clientele. Handling people was always his expertise. She prefers to stay away from whiney clientele. Especially parents. They’re the worst.
Bah humbug.
Necyra will take to wing and fly circles around the area, checking it out from above.
To'Kurr keeps an eye on the old woman, and the old woman keeps an eye on him.
To'Kurr from the ground, Necyra and if he's still around, Edgar, from the sky, that the funhouse is only 2 feet deep, and there are no other windows or doors into it.
As Myles tries to placate the parents, they slowly start heading back into the tavern, mainly with smiles knowing that someone is here to help. A couple respond, "Why yes, that lady gets you into the funhouse." "Not sure about the monkey though, always seems happy but looks a little creepy to me."
Siszhu walks up to the cart fourth from the funhouse and after giving it a quick once over, deposits a silver coin in the slot.
The mechanical figure immediately comes to life, whizzing and whirring, his arms going every which way. Then he hands out a candied apple to the Yuan-ti, completely still again.
Siszhu takes a step back and falls into a ready position when the mechanical person whirrs into life... But then happily takes the surprise gift. "Mmmm, food!" he lets out with a satisfied tone and pops the apple into his mouth whole. As he is chewing it he punches the mechanical employee in the face (16 to hit, 8 damage) intending to topple it over and make sure it stays unanimated... If so he moves to the next with another silver coin at the ready.

"Whoa, this is outta sight, man?" To'Kurr says when he realizes the funhouse is only a couple of feet wide. "It's like some sort of pocket dimension, man."
He goes back around and takes a look at the old lady with the zombie monkey but doesn't say anything to her yet. He looks at the height of the funhouse and thinks for a few moments, then he gets out a pouch with different herbs, and little vials of different liquids in it.
Humming a tune to himself, To'Kurr quickly rolls up two thin joints, a little spark of electricity jumping from his finger tips to the joint when he's done. He also grinds up one herb with a few drops from a couple of the vials and spreads that out on a two small wafer thin tabs. Again a spark of electricity jumps from his finger tips to the tabs when he's done.
He comes back to the group and gives Myles and Neph a joint each. And then he gives a tab to each of Siszhu and Necyra.
"Resistant Ripple," he says when he hands over the joints and then adds when he hands the tabs over "Barney's Bold."
The group knows what these do. The Resistant Ripple joints give the smoker a +1 bonus to AC for 10 minutes (use one action to smoke them - can be used any time before To'Kurr's next long rest). And Barney's Bold tabs give the imbiber the ability to roll a d4 and add the number rolled to every attack roll and saving throw they make for the next minute after taking the tab (again use one action to activate and can be used any time before To'Kurr's next long rest).
With that done he approaches the old woman.
"So gray fox, what's the deal, man?" To'Kurr asks. "Where's the clown and the kids, man?"
While waiting for an answer, To'Kurr randomly mixes ingredients together to see what elixir will materialize (1 ; 2 )
To'Kurr smiles and gives a little laugh when he manages to randomly create another Resistant Ripple joint (Resistance Elixir) but also a little red and blue pill (Transformation Elixir). He pockets those for later.
(Forgot to add - anyone using one of the joints or tabs also gets 2d6+5 temporary hit points when they use it - Restorative Reagents)
"Thank you for your help, we appreciate it, now please get back inside and we will find you as soon as we had a talk with Happy Jack." Myles says with a polite smile, motioning for the worried parents to get back into relative safety. The investigator then accepts the joint offered by To'Kurr with a nod, putting it with his cigarettes for later use. He wasn't to keen on the old man's more mind altering creations but the Resistant Ripple had proved useful before. He then follows To'Kurr towards the old woman but stays back in the off chance anything is not what it seems in front of the weird building.
Neph has been watching silently, but appears beside To’Kurr as he is examining the setup and he smiles when he is handed the joint. “This looks good my man, gonna hit that later. Have to be careful with your rolls, they are po-tent, baby.” He puts it in the pouch at his side.
Nephvir conjures his invisible mage hand and uses it to rummage through the pockets of the old woman in faded rags, looking for anything of interest, hoping that his companions are providing enough of a distraction to help him…

Necyra flutters down to a soft landing right in front of To’Kurr and graciously accepts the nature-based medicinals. For full efffect, she even curtsies and gives the hippie a little peck on the cheek before folding her wings back close up to her back, throwing a cloak over her jet black and white freckled head and walking over go stand next to Myles.
”What d’ya think, boss? This all legit? Everyone here seems too…I dunno…too…calm? As the crone is addressed, she grins. Her eyes smile as well, so that is really the only indicator that it is a real smile as her mouth is such a jumble of crooked teeth and her lips seem a bit twisted as well, enough that the grin looks more like a grimace.
"Ah yes!!" she cries out, she lets go of her organ grinder briefly as she lifts her arms to the sky in excitement, "Of course you want to know where Happy Jack and the wonderful children are!" she goes back to grinding her music, never taking her eyes off of To'Kurr. "Why, they are in the Funhouse my dear boy! Come, come, join in the fun, you know you all want to!"
The strange monkey continues to dance around, now also around To'Kurr, Nephvir, and near Myles and Necyra.
