Grinning ear to ear after having calmed her new horse friends down, she looks over to To'Kurr and chuckles at his comment..."Right you are, Master To'Kurr. For no soul can truly be owned, even that of a slave in the Pits of Baator!" And you, my friends, are just the cutest beings ever!!!! (that last part was in horsey, directed at Nance and Chitty)
She itches both of her new friends (not Siszhu, of course...that's for later...) behind the ears playfully, and whispers sweet compliments into each of their ears.
She'll then casually look over to Megan, wink, and then slink over like she's a cat walking.
"Hi! Remember me? I'm that furry friend you so casually decided to throw off your lap. Right, I understand your grief and all, but that's no way to treat a fellow living creature!" (she's saying this all in jest....and it's quite obvious that she's lighthearted and trying to break the ice in a joking way) "I'm Necyra!" as she extends her hand out in greeting...and Megan will notice that her skin in pure black all over, lit with apparent glowing white little freckles, almost like you're staring into the endless abyss of the night sky.
Necyra is the jokester of the group...almost 180 degrees opposite of Siszhu, and that's why she fits in with the group like a missing puzzle piece.
The dwarf accepts the jug from the old looking man, takes a sniff of it and a smile is noted hidden behind the beard and mustache. He takes a great swig, beer trickling into this long beard before handing it back. "Now that's good stuff. Name is Adrik and this here is my stables."
Adrik nods, "Rent yes. I'll have Ernie there drive ya to Fernwood and drop the lot of ya off." He looks over to Necrya excited with his horses, To'Kurr already putting items in a carriage he picked out and the large purse of coins that Myles is jingling. "How's about 20g? Those horses ya picked out are some good ones, get ya there tomorrow morning."
Megan is startled by the tiefling as she heads over and looks confused as she says she was the furry friend, "Wait, what? You were the cat? How?" In a bit of a daze, Megan shakes the womans hand and you can see her admiring the glowing white freckles.
“I’m a bit of a nut case myself, sister! I’m on your side, though, and don’t you forget ‘bout that. We girls gotta stick together, ya know? Let’s go find this kid o yours. What’s his name?” Necyra adds, cheerfully.
"You had me at 20g Adrik, sounds like a fair price for your services."Myles says with a friendly smile, offering his hand to shake on it before handing over a small pouch containing 20 pieces of gold to the dwarf. "Ready to leave Earnie? We have kids to rescue and a clown to catch over in Fernwood by morning." He then calls out to the driver, motioning for the team to get ready to leave Baldur's Gate. The investigator knew that the clown would likely face the swift justice of dismemberment by the hands of Siszhu rather than be brought in if there was any truth to the kidnappings. He also knew Adrik's price might be a bit stiff but the thought of children coming to harm made the price for getting to Fernwood quickly quite fair.
"She, like, likes to be scratched under the chin, man" To'Kurr says to Megan. Then he cocks his head to one side for a second, his head bobbing to music only he can hear before continuing. "But maybe just when she's a cat."
He climbs up into the carriage and starts to doze almost immediately.
Nephvir is standing to the side watching the negotiations, chuckling to himself. As the gold pouch is changing hands, he starts to make an invisible mage hand reach forward, but then dismissed it in an afterthought. In a low voice he says, “Nah.. not even worth it.” He walks forward, patting the horses and then hops into the carriage, sitting beside To’Kurr. “That’s right my man, you have to be careful. Been running the grift with Necyra for a long time now. She’s got special skills, that one. I try to stay on her good side…”. He gives a laugh, tapping his hand on the edge of the carriage in a rhythmical manner, then moving his hands and fingers back and forth, restless. ”We ready?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Once the horses are attached to the carriage and people are climbing aboard, Siszhu climbs atop to where the luggage would normally be piled up and tied down. As the group is moving swiftly and lightly, Siszhu decides the spot will make a good resting spot to catch some shut eye when he can, and to watch the road when he can't.
"Speak up!" he'll complain through the window on the side, hanging halfway over the edge to shove his face in, the first time the others are chatting about what to expect and he cannot hear them. He doesn't usually need to chime in during discussions but he does want to hear them. ((Stealth to see if he can do it quietly and unexpectedly to surprise the others, maybe shock their frantic mom employer... 17+6 for a 23))
"What if I told you Siszhu IS the universe?" Siszhu asks in a grumble, eyes narrowed. He then quickly hauls himself back atop the carriage again and... tries to open his ears wider. He spends much too long trying to contemplate how one does this and misses the conversation below even if they did speak louder.
Megan smiles at Necyra, "Well, I'm sorry for dumping you on the floor, I didn't realize. My son's name? It's Biggs." Her smile turns a bit wistful as she says this, and fresh tears appear in her eyes.
The dwarf shakes Myles's hand and about drools over the pouch of 20g. "Ernie! Get those horses hitched up and get these people going, they's in a rush!" Ernie looks like he has a bit of whiplash on how fast things changed, but he puts away his shovel and walks over to Necyra and Siszhu with a bit of trepidation to get the horses from them. Seeing no issues, he takes hold of them and attaches them to the carriage To'Kurr is already asleep in.
With To'Kurr in the carriage and Nephvir asking if they are ready, Megan brightens a bit, "Yes, let's get going."and she climbs in the carriage herself.
Once they get a move on, Megan stays quiet, but answers questions as they are asked. When Siszhu leans over and yells to speak up, she yelps and jumps a bit with surprise. But at To'Kurr's response, she chuckles a bit and settles back in.
Necyra spends most of the trip either sitting up in the driver’s box, chatting away with Ernie about the horses, or flying alongside the horses themselves, enjoying nature over the enclosed spaces within the coach. At any watering stops, she offers to feed the horses and give them drink.
Between bouts of dozing, To’Kurr asks Megan “So is this Jack clown dude by himself, or does he have like, minions. Can we like, just walk up to the clown house and say, whoa, we want to come in?”
After making sure the whole team was in some sense aboard the carriage, Myles too climds up into it and gets the last empty seat oppsite their client. "I suggest you all get some rest, we don't really know what kind of opposition this clown will turn out to be so we'd better be our best selves when we reach Fernwood." He calls out to the team members as the carriage leaves Baldur's Gate. "Now, Megan, again I'm so sorry about your son being kidnapped. As we are moving as quickly as we can to save him from this Happy Jack, maybe you can tell us the whole story about Happy Jack, the house he has in Fernwood and what exactly happened when your son Biggs was kidnapped." The investigator says calmly and politely.
Megan first looks at To'Kurr, "Well there are others. Not many though. Minions?" she chuckles, "I don't think they are minions though. But yes! Just get in the railcar and zoom, you're in!"
Megan yawns as Myles suggests they all get some rest and curls up a bit trying to get more comfortable. She looks at him with tired, exhausted eyes. "Well, Happy Jack came to our little village several days ago. We all got a ride and enjoyed the funhouse. You see, you get in the railcar, it zooms you through town and then boom! you get into the funhouse. Once inside you go through all sorts of fun areas. Mirror maze included." she looks to Nephvir as she says this. "But well, the last time the kids went in, they never came out. So us parents, we took the ride again, and searched for them. We really searched, you know? And the house didn't look so fun then..." she gives a long sigh and takes her a bit to get talking again. "We eventually gave up and left the house. Was hard to do, but didn't know what else to do? They weren't there! And they have yet to come out, unless they did while I've been gone, though I doubt it. And well, I left to find help, and found the lot of you."
"This Shappyjack was questioned? Or he disappear?" Siszhu asks from his perch atop the carriage. Whether this man was directly responsible or just so irresponsible Siszhu finds it hard to believe the adult ones have allowed him to live. People... They are too soft to be as plentiful as they are. Siszhu does not understand how they seem to dominate the lands yet are so incompetent. The answer to this question, more than anything else, is what he hunts.
Once Siszhu feels he has the complete story he will get from this woman, he alerts the others he is going to nap, and then does so. He gets what sleep he can and trusts the others to keep watch and to wake him if needed.
While listening to their client, the investigator tries to envision the railcar zooming through the town of Fernwood and into the funhouse. He couldn't rule out some ingenious engineering being at play but his experience told him that they would be dealing with sinister and powerful magic and child-snatching creatures from the realm of nightmares. When they reached Fernwood in the morning they would simply have to enter the Funhouse and track down Happy Jack and all the children. "I am sure you did all that you could to find the children Megan." Myles says in a comforting and reassuring tone, briefly taking Megan's hand to comfort her. "You were right to turn to us for help, we are quite used with problem solving, or as with Siszhu above, problem elimination."
Unless Megan has anything to add to her story, Myles would try to make himself comfortable and get some sleep before arriving in Fernwood.
Nephvir looks up at the description of this “fun house”, the mirror maze and any other aspects described. “This Happy Jack, does he look like a normal clown? Human sized? Any idea where he’s from, what his story is?” He looks for her and waits, saying under his breath “I never liked clowns…”

To'Kurr snores happily away during the journey, content that they'll get there safely. Though he does have a few uncomfortable dreams including one with a clown wearing polka dots.

To'Kurr opens his eyes at the 'Speak Up' imperative.
"Whoa, was that the universe, man?" To'Kurr asks the group.
He pauses for a moment, looks around the carriage then smiles.
"Ha. Just Siszhu," the alchemist finally decides. As he closes his eyes again he adds. "Just open your ears wider, dude."
