When she catches Piero's look, the petite diviner sighs. Turning it into a dance move, she points in his direction with a coquettish grin before bringing a copper wire ring to her lips. She Messages, "For having 'Mirth' in your name, you sure do frown a lot, Mr. Mirthside. We'll get you dancing yet. Maybe even smiling." She adds a gasp on the end for dramatic effect.
Mei's hand then drops as she finds herself caught in the gravitational pull of Cadoras' vivacity. She presses a bit closer to reply, "I think it'd be hard to have anything but a fabulous time with you, Cadoras," and smiles, wholly sincere. That sincerity turns to shyness. "I just... don't want to be the gloomy clouds to your sunshine. Lunch would be much more enjoyable without me raining all my troubles on you. Which--oh! Sorry, yes! L-Let's grab lunch!"
Her smile returns along with a blush. "Provided you've not left school to pursue a career in professional dancing after I tell you the secret." Rising onto her tiptoes, she steadies herself with a light hand to his chest and whispers in his pointed ear, seeming quite serious...
"The secret is... to write your name in cursive... with your rear."
Malvyn nods at Aurora's words as he keeps dancing slowly with her. "Yes, I understand, completely, I can't say I have any idea what you should say. I would like to help but I probably shouldn't involve myself at all as I suppose she might well see me as the reason she hasn't gotten more of your attention." He says softly, a concerned look on his sinister purple devilish face. "Maybe just ask her how she is, make it clear you enjoyed getting to know her and take it from there...or just let it be, maybe we must let her work it out on her own, I don't know. I just think we would all like for her to get back some of that radiance and be a part of this group again." He says with a small sad sigh. "Perhaps we should let this go for now and join the others?" He adds after a while with a small smile, glancing over at the friends dancing near them on the dance floor.
Piero rolls his eyes at Mei, remaining seated. Zanther eagerly joins in with the dancing as well. He's not really all that on time with the beat of the music, but he is certainly graceful in his movements.
Cadoras smiles as Meitakes him on his lunch offer. He reaches out with his hand to take hers and lifts it up, directing her into a little twirl if she'll allow him. He then listens to her whisper chuckling as he moves away. "Well, let's get to dancing! I've got to get to work here. No promises I won't be leaving school to live life as a dancer, but I will make it for lunch tomorrow, fear not!" He starts to dance a bit energetically - probably more so than the tempo of the song calls for. He turns his back towards Mei, sticking his rear out a bit and gyrating around wildly. After a few momoents he steals a glance over his shoulder at the purple-haired woman.
Aurora replies to Malvyn with a slight sigh. "Yea, I'll talk to her. We're meeting tomorrow to play some music together." When he suggests joining the others she nods, a tiny smile coming to her lips. "They do look like they're having fun. Although... what in the world is Cadoras doing?" She chuckles a bit as she watches.
Mei's tiny squawk at sight of... that... is thankfully drowned out by the music, though little can hide the furious blush. When Cadoras looks back at her, she bursts out with laughter, certain he must be attempting to spell every word in the Common dictionary. Her sister would be delighted to know someone else had used her secret dance move to such an effect.
Joining in, the petite oracle turns and twists to the beat, her long braids dancing about her shoulders as the music and company washes over her like cleansing waters. When the song next changes, she makes her rounds with her friends:twirls around Malvyn, do-si-do's arm and arm with Knap, and gets into a tiny dance off with Guardok.
Guardok spins around the dance floor, deftly avoiding all the other far taller dancers as he matches the beat with his maracas. His eyes widen slightly when almost comes face to rear with Cadoras, but he manages to veer in another direction.
The diminutive Genasi even introduces some minor pyrotechnics into his routine.
When Mei reaches him and starts a little dance battle, he gleefully eggs her on, inspiring her to even more flamboyant moves.
"I believe our green-haired friend is performing an ancient elven ritual dance."The purple-skinned Tiefling says quitely to Aurora in a quite serious tone, but then he just chuckles. "No, perhaps that's not it, I have no idea what we're watching."
While Malvyn had found some comfort and confidence with dancing closely to Aurora, he was significantly less confident with the more free styling of the others but bravely putting on his best show, knowing now they wouldn't expect much of him and he felt fine with that, slowly finding some fairly conservative moves of his own, following the rythm of the music and generally enjoying the company, adding to the flavour to the dance by creating purplish disco lights on the dance floor to further heighten the experience.
Knap is all hips, and dropping it like it’s hots, and twerks here and there. His curls flowing in the druidcraft breeze. He looks almost primal in the purple lights. As if dancing around his own fire as the world zooms by. He smiles as at his friends as they weave in and out like a flock flying in formation. Knap thows in some of Malvyn’s more conservative steps, enjoying the focussed and humble power of his movements.
Feeling suddenly inspired by Guardok, Mei flips her skirts around in an impromptu Faerûnian flamenco, even going so far as to do a back walkover into a split. Perhaps, in another life, she would’ve joined him on a path to Prismari.
She beams up (as rare as it is to be able to) at Guardok, then calls to their resident cheerleader, “Zanther, can you catch me?” As she rises from the split, the diviner gets carried away and disappears in a silvery mist that smells of an ocean breeze.
Like a flyer in a basket toss, she reappears 15 feet overhead in a chime of laughter then begins to plummet.
Malvyn briefly stops his dancing too, gasping with surprise, and worry, as the petite oracle suddenly disappears and then reappears high above the dance floor. "NO...WAIT..." He calls out in desperation, watching helplessly as the dreamer falls down towards the large fire genasi.
Mostly absorbed in his own groove, Knap noticed the purple chaos that is Mei appear above their heads. As if all a part of one dance move Knap flicks out his wand from the waist belt of his loose linen dungarees and casts feather fall on Mei. “Yehaaaawww, catch the dreamer!”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Everyone in the place seems to be enjoying watching the group's antics. Even Pierohas a small smile as he sits with a drink watching from the table. Cadoras calls out encouragements as Meicontinues about the dance floor.
Aurora gives Malvyna small smile when he jokes about Cadoas' dance. She watches Mei appear up in the air, looking rather worried as well.
Zanther, seeming always alert, immediately reacts to Mei'scall for a cheerleader. It was however something he was totally not expecting. He moves quickly, trying to get into position to catch the falling girl.
Zanther doesn't quite get into the proper position in time. However, Knap's spell slows Mei's descent just enough that he can get an arm beneath her. Between the effects of the spell and Zanther's strength, he does keep her from hitting the ground, but immediately lowers to the floor where she spills out, rolling onto her side. (No damage though - really due to the Feather Fall)
Mei lies on her side, breathless. Her grandmother's voice is sharp in her mind with a thousand different scoldings. At first, she's inclined to feel ashamed for such recklessness, for how she could've hurt Zanther as well. But all she feels is the rush of blood through her veins and a drumming heartbeat in her ears. The pump of adrenaline and that magical surge of confidence is quite intoxicating.
Rolling over to to face Zanther, she has the decency to look sheepish as she breathily jokes, "Did I... make the team?" A bit wobbly, she starts to rise to her feet, throwing a grateful glance Knap's way.
The purple-skinned Tiefling realizes with dread that Zanther won't be able to catch the petite oracle, but then, in the last moment, his room mate saves the dreamer with his satyr magic. "Thanks Knap, quick thinking, well done."Malvyn says as he takes a step closer to the satyr and gives him a grateful pat on the shoulder. "There's some coordination yet needed for that trick to be perfect perhaps." He adds with a relieved chuckle, stepping back to Aurora. "Evidently cheerleading is much more hazardous than battling aberrations."He adds with a grin, but seeming mostly pleased everyone is fine.
He wanders over to Zanther, "Maybe I chose wrong not joining cheer squad. It looks fun!", he says with a chuckle as he reaches up and pats the Fire Genasi on the lower back.
Zanther laughs loudly at Mei'sjoke. "I think you narrowly missed making the team. Or at least being caught by the team." As Guardokcomes over he grins. "The cheer squad is fun. But we don't usually use our magic to just suddenly appear in mid-air. That was quite unexpected!" With nobody hurt, he seems amused by what had happened. "Unique though and rather dramatic. I just wasn't expecting to make a catch like that on the dance floor!"
As Malvyn walks back over to Aurora, she looks quite relieved. "Thank goodness Guardok acted as quickly as he did," she says.
Cadoras eventually makes his way over to Mei'sside. He kneels down by where she lies on the ground. "Oh my! Are you alive? That stunt was even crazier than I would have done! I totally approve!" He laughs a bit, seeming relieved as most of the others were that you were uninjured.
"I think it is Knap who deserves all credit for Mei's...um...safe landing." The purples-kinned Tiefling says discreetly to Aurora as he stands by her side. "I suppose it's hard to tell my floor mates apart huh?"He adds, giving the raven-haired performer a playful nudge. "I've found I can fully trust them with never giving me an uneventful night." He adds with quite a pleased smile.

Guardok hops down off his chair, digging into his bag for his maracas.
"Let's dance", he says to Zanther and shimmies across to where Mei and the others have made space, before showing off his own dance moves.
It is good to have some time to simply enjoy being together, away from all the serious issues.
