Malvynseems to think Cadoras was speaking his mind mostly - while he initially thought prank it was clearly too much to just be that. His impression of Piero is that he's basically doing the same as the tiefling - saying 'prank' but thinking that it's probably not.
Mei hears very little after "...about your actions," except for a high pitched squealing in her head as Cadoras squeezes her hand.
Catching the tail end of everyone's theories, Mei starts rather defensively--"B-But I wouldn't have Dreams about some ineffective pr--" then clams up as she remembers what Malvyn said about keeping information to themselves. "Uh, I mean, yes! The performance was, um... g-great!" So as not to face any attention she's drawn with that bad coverup, she hums the tune from Mae's song and struggles out of her ruined uniform jacket.
The group is soon back at Dresar Hall, and they head up to their floor.
Cadoras insists on making sure Meigets all the way back up and so accompanies the group up. "Just have to make sure you get all the way back to your room, right?" Once up there though he stands a bit awkwardly looking at the dreamer. "Well... I... should probably be on my way. I'll see you soon Mei?"
Pieroglances about at the others once they've returned. "Well, I should probably get some rest. I'll be off to my room. Good night all." And he quickly retreats down the hallway.
(OOC - I'm presuming Knap is already there, having left before the others?)
The purple-skinned tiefling gives the green-haired elf a nod and an ancouraging smile, leaving him to say goodnight to Mei, joining Piero on the disk to the fourth floor of Dresar Hall where he bids him goodnight. Not having spotted Mae after checking the lounge or the study room, Malvyn then walks over to room 405 and knocks on the door.
A moment later the door cracks open to reveal Mae, standing in her nightrobe pulled tight around her, a light blush on her cheeks. "Oh, hello Malvyn. Everything all right? Did you figure out what happened in the kitchen?"
"We're not sure what to make of it yet, Cadoras suggested it simply was some prank gone out of hand. I think the others are all okay but we got a bit worried for you, you just disappeared, again."Malvyn says, seeming a bit concerned about this. "We wanted to make sure you were alright, you were wounded right? And Aurora hoped you enjoyed the show tonight."
Mei watched as the others went their separate ways on the fourth floor, butterflies awhirl when she's left with Cadoras. As carefree as he is, it felt rare to see him awkward.
"Would you maybe want to, um... stay a little longer? For a cup of tea or..?" she hedges, fingers twisting at the end of a braid. "It's the least I can do after you walked all the way up here. And--oh--Minami--er, my sister sent some snacks from home too! It'll be pickled plum season soon so she sent a whole jar and--well, a lot of people don't like the taste, but they're really good for your health!"
Pink-cheeked over how she's chattered on, Mei looks hopefully up at the elf, but, after a moment, backtracks with a rapid wave of her hands, "B-But I know tonight was a lot and you all did so much with those bugs! So, if you're tired, you don't have to--I mean, I understand if you need to b-be on your, um... way?"
Mae clutched up her robe a bit more and frowned slightly. "I see. Well you all are quite the investigators I think so I'm sure if there is something to it you'll uncover it soon enough." She smiled a bit. At the mention of being wounded she tugged her robe again a bit, "Yes, I'll be fine. I'm sorry I wasn't more help, I think I just got in the way more than anything. You all had it handled pretty well anyway." Her eyes swept down for a moment. "Oh, umm, yes, it was good to perform with her. I hope she enjoyed it too." Her cheeks flushed slightly again and she peeked out to see if anyone else had returned yet.
Knap, upon hearing stirs on 4th floor, wills his ill belly to be calm and drags himself off of his bedroll, grabs the a neatly potted almost ready for bloom sunflower he had prepared for Mae’s post performance celebration but ultimately forgot, and scurries out into the hallway towards Mae’s room. “Mae, Mae, …hi Malvyn. Mae, I forgot to give this to you.” Knap places the sturdy looking flower onto the ground between himself, Mae and Malvyn. “You really were amazing tonight, Mae.” And with a wave of his hands and whispers of Druidic Knap wills the flower to bloom and it does. But perhaps not with the glory he intended, it blooms but with drooping petal, sagging stem, darker, muted colours. Knap looks surprised, confused, a little bit shame. still beautiful but not what he intended. “Ahhh, put a little too much oomph into it I guess. We can replant the seeds when they’re ready.” Not knowing how to save face Knap leaves the flower and runs back to his room and curls up under the blanket of his bedroll.
Mae looked at Knap with a bit of surprise, then concern and sympathy. "Oh, oh that's very sweet of you Knap, I'm sure it will..."But she never quite finished as Knap ran off back into their room. "Umm, Malvyn, would you mind handing me the plant?" She asked with a hint of embarrassment.
There's a bit of a stir in the room behind Mae. And a whispered voice, "What's happening?" It's hard to make out, but anyone standing nearby could hear.
Mae's face goes deep red as the voice sounds behind her. "Oh! Umm, nothing, umm, Malvyn here was just checking on me I think and Knap...left me flowers?" She gave a nervous giggle.
The purple-skinned tiefling steps aside as his room mate comes over to offer Mae the sunflower he had prepared for her, giving the satyr a concerned look as he quickly leaves again. "Um, okay." He says, handing the aasimar the pot with the overbloomed flower. "I apologize Mae, I wasn't aware you had a visitor at this hour." He says a bit awkwardly. "I'll let you get back to...um...whatever you were doing." He says with a quick awkward smile, wondering where Chara could be at this hour. It seemed quite intimate to him somehow, having a visitor when in nightrobes, perhaps the aasimar simply had quickly gotten over Aurora.
Malvyn quickly returns to his room, checking up on his roomie before going to bed himself. "Are you okay Knap? The flower was beautiful, and even if you think it could have been even better I am sure Mae really appreciated it." He says softly, hoping to reassure and comfort his friend.
Cadoras seems to consider Mei'sinvitation. "Well, if it would not be a bother, then I would be glad to have some tea." Then she mentions the pickled plums and his attention picks up. "Pickled plums? You say the season is coming soon? That certainly does sound intriguing. You'll have to tell me more about it. Do you enjoy it?" He is momentarily distracted by the activities of the others, visiting Mae'sroom and KnapandGuardok coming and going. But he quickly looks back to Mei. "Is there anything I can help with?"
Just as Malvyn is retreating from Mae's room back towards his own, Chara comes up from the lift. She mumbles about long cheer squad practices and studying at the library. She immediately makes for her and Mae's room, saying she's going to bed. From inside the room, Larine's voice says, "Oh, my pardon. I was just going to head upstairs. Umm, seems your injuries are looking better though Mae. I'm very glad." She hurriedly makes for the door. "I'll run into you soon I hope."
Mae took the flower with a gentle smile, still blushing some. "Oh, umm, uh, yes. no, it's okay. The flower is very nice, tell Knap thank you. I'll put it over by the window. I'm not that great with plants but I'll try to make it last as long as I can. Very thoughtful." She blushed a little again and then once Mal turned to leave she shut the door again.
Mei too is distracted by the sudden flurry of activity this way and that, and realizes it’s probably best to let the fourth floor rest. With regret and a hug, she wishes Cadoras good night, promising to drop off some pickled plums to him tomorrow instead.
Then the Dreamer sets about making teas. Outside Knap and Malvyn’s door she leaves a tray of honey and ginger tea to hopefully help settle the satyr’s stomach. She Messages Malvyn that it’s there before going back to make a cinnamon rooibos tea for Mae and doing the same.
Not wanting to disturb Mellori, she then grabs her small sewing kit from their room and takes it into the lounge to start on her uniform. When she has the hardest work done, she requests her Helper finishes it off. It’s in the swath of moonlight in front of the big window where she’s setting out cards for cleansing that she also falls fast asleep.
Mae quietly reaches out to take the offered tea and then retreats back to her room. A moment later she emerges again with an extra blanket, taking it over to the sleeping Mei and laying it over her. It is a yellowish color, golden even, very closely matching Mae's hair, and made from a soft wool.
