"I just meant that we might not get use of the teleportation circle a second time, or the permission of lecturers to skip classes. I am not saying we stay, because we can't do that indefinitely. Just that it might not be as easy or quick to come back. Possibly in a holiday?", Guardok says trying to explain what he is getting at.
"Oh, okay, yes..."Malvyn says a bit awkwardly, then turning to Kira and Mei. "...I'm sure we will find a way though."He says, trying to sound optimistic about it all although it is clear he has no idea.
Kira nods her head. "Of course. I can give you directions to the offices of the town constabulary. I'm sure they'd be able to take the lead on the bandits." She looks down the street you are on, pointing in the direction you will have to go, giving intersection by intersection directions. "Easiest would be take one of the coaches. You can catch that just a couple blocks down, takes you most the way." She then looks to Mei, "Sorry I can't go with you. I'll get everything sorted here as best I can. And we'll get word to you Mei. I just don't understand how this all came out this way when Disyn herself wanted you to come! It's a little troubling, but nothing we won't figure out."
Meiseems to agree with the idea of reporting what had happened and getting back to Strixhaven. She does have an exam to study for here at the end of the week.
"Ok, thanks. Sorry it didn't go to plan", Guardok says to Kira, before looking around for a coach to take them to the local constabulary.
He is a little disappointed that things hadn't worked out, especially for Mei. He wondered whether that was why she had been quiet, but decides against probing.
Malvyn too comes along to the offices of the town constabulary, ready to assist in the report, although he felt that it was really Guardok who had most to tell. He too had noticed Mei being unusually quiet and hoped she was doing okay in spite of everything.
Kira bids the others farewell and hurries off the opposite direction. It doesn't take long to get to the town offices, inside is a round-looking halfling with small circular glasses. "May I help you folks?" he asks.
"Yes, please. We wish to report suspicions of a crime." The purple-skinned tiefling starts, some excitement in his tone, his tail swaying behind him, turning expectantly to Guardok to explain what they have observed on their trek.
"Indeed. We were trekking back to town from the mountains, and came across the scene of what appeared to be an ambush. There were three bodies on the road, and signs that someone had been dragged away", Guardok explains.
"We followed the trail of the one being dragged away, and it looked like someone was carried back into town, and there were others who walked away from town into the mountains. It seemed like this happened a few hours before we came across the scene, so the one headed for town carrying the person would have arrived in town before us", he adds.
"We thought it best to report what we saw, so here we are".
