Rubina softly joins in with Guardok as he chuckles. "No! Of course not! I certainly hope not at least!"
Her eyes start to drift over towards the singer on stage over on the patio, listening to the music. "Hey guys! Maybe we should find a closer table to the music."
She then glances back to Guardok. "You and your friends want to join us?"
As Malvyn agrees to watch Aurora's preformance and to chat later, the Harengon waitress returns with his new glass of wine. Aurora nods slightly at his answer. Hearing Rubina's invitation to Guardok, she repeats it. "You and your friends want to join us Mal?"
She doesn't wait for an answer as she leans down to pick up a large instrument with strings and a hand crank on one end. She takes a few steps towards the patio, looking to Rubina. "Think there's a table over there."
Everyone notices now, that with the music starting, the patio has filled in a bit. Though it's still not exceptionally crowded. The interior nearest the door is also filling up some as it seems the music can still be heard quite well from there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The purple-skinned tiefling accepts the glass of wine and quickly pays the harengon, almost accidentally paying with the piece of platinum he got from Professor Sharpbeak, quickly putting that back into his pouch. "Sure, I'll just get our floor mate, save me a seat." Malvyn says to Aurora, hoping it didn't sound to eager. Mal? He wasn't quite used to that yet, but he had to admit it grew on him. The tiefling then quickly heads over to collect the dreamer. "You want to join us closer to the stage?"He asks with a wide smile, holding his new glass of red wine, motioning for Mei to follow, then making his way to their new table.
(Could Malvyn recognize Aurora's instrument from one of the many books he has read, he would love to impress her with some nerdy knowledge ;-) Int check if needed: 19
"Oh! I'm not--uh, I'm not either! T-This is my first time actually! But sorry, I didn't mean to put that pressure on you!" Mei quickly apologizes, words a rapid fire from her mouth. "A frost fire w-would be fine!, thank you so much, Ven!" When he offers to bring it to their table she looks back at it. Maybe it would be okay to sit there alone. Until it came. And then I could move? Or should I stay at the same table all night? Are they assigned seats once you sit down?
Thoughts spiraling, they're thankfully interrupted by Malvyn, whom she nods to with no small measure of enthusiasm over the prospect of sitting closer to the music. After sorting the table location out with Ven, she hurries after the tiefling--immediately catching her boot on the edge of a chair in a bit of a spectacle before finding her feet again.
Ven goes over to get Meiher drinks and disappears for a bit. The group has moved over to the other table. Rubina and Aurora sit next to each other, though there are empty chairs on either side of them. Their other friends sit toward the other end of the table.
On stage, the Half-Elf finishes yet another song. Her accompaniment seamlessly transitions into another song. This time the tempo is slower and not so boisterous, though still it seems very upbeat. There is a long intro before the Half-Elf woman again starts to sing a happy song of love. You can see Aurora rolling her eyes at the sappy lyrics. She seems to be drinking a deep red wine, and she downs her glass in a hurry. Rubina has some fizzy drink - though it does not look to be the Peach Fizz that was shown on the menu.
"You okay Mei?" The purple-skinned tiefling says, gving the dreamer a brief worried look as she regains her balance. It wasn't like his own balance was in perfect order after a glass of wine, but still, he felt concerned for some reason. Hesitating briefly as he arrives at the table, Malvyn takes the seat next to Aurora and then offers Mei to sit on the next chair if she wanted. He notes with some amusement Aurora's rolling eyes. He himself had always taken more liking to more dark and tragic texts and the thought of the pierced performer possibly feeling the samy way further piqued his curiosty, maybe there was even a subject for conversation there if they chatted later he thought, taking a measured sip of his wine, glancing over to see that Guardok and Knap too had found seats at the table.
"Yeah, sounds good", Guardok replies to Rubina. "Come on Knap, let's see what our competition look like", he says with a smile, jumping down off his chair and heading out to take a seat by Rubina.
As he watches the performers, he can't help but drum along on the tabletop.
"So you are all in the show band, and I can see you play...well whatever that is Aurora. What do the rest of you do in the band?", he asks those gathered at the table.
When Mal and Mei exit to the patio, he throws them a wave.
Mei smiles and nods at Malvyn in response to his question--gravity ever the nemesis of the unobservant, alcohol or no--and takes the remaining seat at the table. Not wishing to interrupt the current conversation, she simply gives a little wave to those at the table, her eyes drawn in brief curiosity to the student with many piercings, before she listens along to the song, wholly enchanted by the lyrics.
The purple-skinned tiefling briefly grits his teeth as Aurora mentions the name of her instrument. There went his chance to possibly impress her with anything he knew. He sighs and takes another small sip of his wine, not overly interested in this music, instead glancing down at what Mei just had delivered to her. "What have you ordered now?" He asks her quietly with a curious smile. "Will you try anything tonight?"He adds with a chuckle...but then he goes quiet, his cheeks and pointed ears heating. "I mean...I mean...that is a really interesting looking drink Mei."
As conversations continue, the band on stage keeps playing. The Half-Elf woman takes a break for a bit and the other musicians continue with instrumental pieces that are a bit more amenable for dancing. There are maybe 5 or 6 students that end up standing near the stage doing various random dance moves. When the Half-elf resumes her songs, the dance rhythm seems to continue. As do the love and romance lyrics.
The tavern is by no means filled, but the crowd has grown a bit as the evening has gone on. Depite the cool air, the patio is quite popular, though a fair number of people sit inside.
A voice suddenly sounds behind the group, "They don't really have a lot of variety, do they?" Mae, looking oddly haggard sits down, pulling a chair over to sit behind the others, watching the performers as well, a bit unimpressed. She yawned a bit, though not from irritation or boredom, but from weariness.
"What have you ordered now?" He asks her quietly with a curious smile. "Will you try anything tonight?"He adds with a chuckle...but then he goes quiet, his cheeks and pointed ears heating. "I mean...I mean...that is a really interesting looking drink Mei."
Mei mouths the words “hurdy gurdy” to herself, simply for how fun it seems like it would be to say. And it is. There’s a clear look of admiration and envy on Mei’s face as the edgey student mentions the unique instruments she plays. The wizard sets her chin in her hands as she gazes at the other woman as she calls for more wine.
I really like her piercings.
As Ven appears and Malvyn comments on the drink, she blinks away thoughts her grandmother would most certainly not approve of. “Ha? Oh! Yes!” she grins. “On both accounts! It’s called a frost fire, which sounded too fun to pass up. Do you… want to try it?” She pushes the glass towards him just a smidge, offering but not pushing.
"Wow, your band must really like the sound of the Shawm. I play a bit of a few things myself. My favourite are the maracas", Guardok explains to Aurora and Rubina.
He looks at Mei's drink as it arrives, and then down at the table in front of him as Aurora calls for wine, "Oh dear, I appear to have run out of drink, and another of these frosty looking drinks please!"
"Sorry about that, where were we, oh yes...", he starts to say just as Mae appears behind him and makes him jump. "Whoa Mae, you made it. That's great", he says as he turns around to see who just made him jump. He looks about to see if any of the others from floor 4 were here as well.
"We are just chilling with the show band, listening to some tunes", he says with a chuckle.
The purple-skinned tiefling gives Mei's sparkling icy looking drink a hesitant look, but then he nods and smiles, picking up the glass and taking a small sip, exploring it's taste in his mouth before swallowing, then putting the white drink back on the table if front of the dreamer. Another first for the knight of cups. "It was...good, really good actually. Not that I have any drinks to compare with."He says with a shrug and a sort of embarrased smile to Mei, but not nearly as embarrased as he thought he would be. He felt safe with his new friends or maybe it was only the wine that made him relax.
As Mae turns up, Malvyn looks up and smiles, giving her a wave, the glancing over at Aurora, then back at the blonde aasimar. "I think Aurora is up soon though." He says to Mae, trying not to sound too excited about that.
Mae nodded once, "Well she does seem like the type to change things up here some, hopefully a welcome reprieve from...this."She gestured toward the lovesick singers with a straight face. "If this is going to be the usual entertainment though, I may rethink my plan to work here regularly."
Ven nods to Aurora. "More wine for you, and you want to try a Frost Fire?" he asks Guardok.
The sip that Malvyntook from Mei'sdrink was quite refreshing. It was quite cold and had a creamy taste to it, with of course a hint of alcohol. But it was rather well blended to be quite flavorful. It initially had an almost minty coolness that slow shifted to more of a hot cinnamon type of flavor.
Aurora turned to glance at Maeas she arrived. And her eyes remained focused on her once she had looked. "Mae, good to see you once again," she says with a very slight smile. "Mal here was very eager for your arrival. He's been looking around for you for some time now." Her gaze then shifts over to the Tiefling, who she sees seems to be chatting with Meiat the moment.
The band on stage continues on with their songs, although it sounds as though they are wrapping up.
Guardok gives Ven the thumbs up, then turns back to the group, noticing Malvyn taking court with all the ladies.
"Mal just doesn't want anyone missing out on the fun, he's great like that, he really cares about his friends", he says nodding in appreciation of the tiefling, and lacing his words with encouragement.
In the middle of her first sip, Mei's teeth clink against the frost fire glass as she sees Mae, eyes lighting up that she's joined them. "Hi! You came!" she chirps with a shimmy of her shoulders as the minty chill sends a shiver down her spine. She looks around for an empty seat for Mae to join them.
"So you all know each other already?" she asks, gaze roaming each face at the table. "And don't seem to enjoy love songs," she says with a little laugh, words hidden beneath the music for only their table. "Oh, but you could talk to Ven though! He works here!" she says of their waiter who... clearly works there. "Would you like a drink?"
Rubina softly joins in with Guardok as he chuckles. "No! Of course not! I certainly hope not at least!"

Malvyn does recognize the instrument as a hurdy gurdy. The crank turns a wheel that moves across strings.

"And I play the shawm as well," Rubina replies.
The slow romantic song ends and another begins. This one is a bit faster tempo but again seems to be a love song.
Ven soon arrives with a sparkling icy looking drink for Mei. It is very bright white. "Here is your Frost Fire."
Aurora, seemingly mildly pained at yet another love song, calls out to Ven. "Hey! I could use a lot more wine!"
