"Oh I don't know. I just saw she was standing with someone, I think from our trip a bit ago, I'm not entirely sure. But she never came into the exam room." Mae thought a moment, "I don't know if the professor will make allowances, though I hope for Mei's sake they do."She turned to Larine again and smiled softly. "Then come with me, I'd like to at least check on Mei, make sure she's okay. And don't be silly, I found studying with you quite easy." She blushed a bit and gave Larine a tiny bump before starting off for the cafe slowly.
"I see, and you have no idea why then?" Malvyn goes on, politely but firmly. He might believe what Kira is saying but he is still quite skeptical to let Mei go where peril might lurk.

Larine nods. "Alright. But I'm coming with you," she says firmly. The pair make their way to the cafe as well.
As Cadoras and Guardok arrive, Mei stands to meet them, her relief again palpable. She's about to ask after their exams when Guardok beats her to it.
"N-No, I--yes, I know," she grimaces, twisting her hands together. Hopefully she hasn't ruined her chance at graduating this year. "It's just... I finally Dreamed again and I saw--" she quickly fills them both in on what's happened, the Dream she had, and what Kira's explained so far. That Disyn said she was "losing her" and that her "sight was fading" so she needed Mei.
And that they're leaving for the mountains outside Silkmeadow in the morning.
"I think I... I think I have to go. Disyn needs help." She glances back at Malvyn as he questions Kira. "I need to talk to my professors, of course. Mal wants to come too, I just... I don't want any of you to get in trouble." Her hands continue to twist nervously together.
Guardok is a little shocked and it takes him a moment to process what Mei had said before he says anything himself.
"Let me get this straight in my head", he says. "You dreamed of Disyn, one of your dreaming dreams. The sort that since you encountered Disyn you have not had. And felt that she, or they, were in trouble. Now someone has travelled from Silkmeadow with a message from Disyn that you are needed urgently", he summarises.
"And you skipped the exam, and are going to rush to Silkmeadow to help. And Mal is going with you", he finishes.
He hopes saying it out loud might make it sound less crazy, but it really doesn't.
"And you don't know why Disyn needs you? Or how long you will be gone?", he asks, really concerned for his friend. "Will it be dangerous?", he adds, looking at Kira with this question.
Kira shakes her head, starting to look annoyed at Malvyn, or really just all the questions."The why is because Disyn wishes it. We follow her, not question her. I am sure that whatever has happened, Mei is needed to help our goddess."
She looks over at Mei. "Perhaps we should get going."
Mei grows pinker and pinker with each sentence that leaves Guardok's lips, realizing now how it all sounds.
Embarrassed by her own ignorance and naivety, she shakes her head at his questions, knowing neither why exactly she's needed nor how long it might take. When he asks Kira if it will be dangerous, she too looks back at the other woman and notices, then, her annoyance.
"The trek into the mountains is not particularly strenuous. There is no danger that I know of," Kira adds in response to Guardok's question. Her annoyance though only seems to be growing.
Guardok watches Kira closely, trying to figure out the source of her annoyance. Is she trying to stop Mei's friends from interfering or just eager to go.
"You are leaving now?", he asks before adding, "Perhaps we could blag a use of the teleportation circle?". He does not sound particularly confident, but it does show some willingness to come along and not leave Mei to do this without him.
Mei understands the blind trust that lives alongside belief--for that, in itself, is what faith is. Her own family and village's faith in the Dryad means they, too, would never question her needs or requests. She doesn't begrudge Kira her unwavering belief in Disyn. But she also does not blame her friends for not sharing in that trust. And this certainly wouldn't be the first time that Mei's easy trust got her in trouble.
"The teleportation circles would be incredibly helpf--... we?" Mei's eyes widen. Guardok's willingness to join them was not lost on her. "A-Are you sure?"
Larine, who had accompanied Mae, also arrives. She remains quiet, just watching what is happening.
Cadoras, who had been rather quiet to this point, finally speaks up. "Mei, I don't quite get what you're doing. But you have my support. How can I help?"
"Good idea Guardok, we could go now to see about using the teleportation circles..."Malvyn says to his friend with an appreciative and somewhat excited smile. "...but perhaps we should let Kira recover until tomorrow morning before we head off to that grotto." He adds, hoping the others would agree to that.
Mei looks close to tears as Maeleve appears, feeling quite blessed to have found such friends. She quickly fills Mae in on everything.
To both Mae and Cadoras, she says, "I don't expect you to come. I know it's... it's a lot to ask and there's a chance you might miss classes and I'm not really even sure what I can do for a goddess or what's wrong or how to fix it but..." her hands scrub over her face as she's briefly overwhelmed. She hides behind them a moment to takes a deep breath, mustering a smile by the time they drop away. "It'll be an adventure, if nothing else."
As the others suggest going to see about the teleportation circles, Mei nods. "I should go talk to Professor Lang before she leaves campus. Do you mind waiting here, Kira? It shouldn't take long. Or there's the, um, the snarl you could see? From your dream? It's in center of the Biblioplex."
"I wouldn't feel right knowing you were heading into the unknown and I was tucked up safe at the hall, Mei", Guardok reply, confirming he would like to join her. "But I wouldn't want to get in too much trouble", he says with a glance at Kira, not quite trusting her motives as of yet.
When Mal suggests they wait until the morning, he nods. "I thought Kira was eager to go, I am easy".
He is ready to head off wherever needed, probably to the Professor first. He has no idea how to book the teleportation circle after all, short of turning up and hoping for the best.
Mei looks confused at Maeleve’s insistence Larine come, given her uneasiness and Larine’s own nervousness. With the many unknowns about the situation, she’d prefer not to involve more people outside their group… even Cadoras.
Depending on Kira’s reply, Mei will hurry off to try and catch Professor Lang, both to explain the situation in hopes of being allowed to retake the exam and to perhaps acquire permission to use the teleportation circles (for free).
Malvyn follows along to try to convince the professors to let them use the teleportation circle. He knew he had to explain to Aurora that he had to go away, hopefully only for the weekend, but he expected her to be understanding, she always had been.
Kira stands. "I would like to see the snarl." Cadoras immediately speaks up. "I can take her to see that for you Mei. If you need to see Professor Lang."
Larine looks a little surprised at being asked to go. "Well, I guess... I mean, I'd go with Mae." She pauses a moment, looking at Mae. "Where exactly are you going?"
"Oh I don't know. I just saw she was standing with someone, I think from our trip a bit ago, I'm not entirely sure. But she never came into the exam room." Mae thought a moment, "I don't know if the professor will make allowances, though I hope for Mei's sake they do." She turned to Larine again and smiled softly.
