Maeleve thinks it is a stretch to call this happening a divine mandate, but she wants to be supportive of her friend. Still, she has nothing to offer really so she stays at the back of the group, holding her bag to her front with her hand inside it and waits.
"I did not attend the art gala. I unfortunately had another engagement that night," Professor Lang says in response to Mei. "Do you still have the painting? It might be interesting to see." She seems to nod with understanding when you mention Kira's fatigue after the journey. "Well, if you would please ask her to come, I would appreciate it. But if you could come back this evening Mei, I will see what I can do about this research project. And I may have a few more questions about today's exam."
Malvyn has nothing further to add, although he hopes he would perhaps have a chance to be a part of that research project, and looks to his friends if they have something more or if they should go and find Kira and Cadoras now. Thinking about it the trip to Silkmeadow might turn out into an interesting piece in the Star too.
"Oh, this... this evening?" Mei asks, surprised the professor will be on campus that late. "Of course. Y-Yes, ma'am! Thank you, ma'am."
Mei, too, looks around at the others then shakes her head. "Thank you so much for seeing us and, um, my apologies again about, erhm... thank you." Mei bows deeply to the Professor then, if no one else had anything to add, will skedaddle out of the office, grateful her friends managed to stay her execution for now. Eager as she is to leave, she doesn't even ask for the prayer book back.
Guardok has remained quiet since he plea to the Professor, not wanting to jinx anything by adding any more.
When Mei decides it is time to leave, he smiles at the professor and backs out of the room with a quick, "Thanks, Professor". He makes sure he is the last to leave, and closes the door after himself.
He waits until they are short distance away before speaking. "Phew, that could have gone worse I think. Do you think Kira will see her, Mei?".
Mei lets out the breath she'd been holding and all but glomps Guardok. "It would've gone worse if not for you!" After giving him a good squeeze, she straightens and cups her face, turning to look between each of her three floormates. "Thank you all so much. For coming and for speaking up and... I owe you. Truly."
As they head back towards the Biblioplex, she sighs in regards to Kira. "I'm not sure. I can't imagine she'll take well to more questioning given how she reacted earlier. Though if anyone could put her in a better mood, it's Cadoras." Sweet Cadoras. "I don't get the feeling Professor Lang would be particularly, um... tactful about her questions, though. I'm honestly nervous myself about having to come back later."
"Yes, I am sure Cadoras will mellow her out a bit", Guardok says, but his frown tells a different a story.
"So, if we can get the teleportation circle, that sorts out getting to Silkmeadow. There is still the matter of the trek to Disyn. Remind me where we have to go, I am not sure I heard that bit", he asks. As long as it is walking on natural ground, he isn't particularly concerned about himself. But if they have to swim or climb, that might be an issue.
"Disyn's Grotto. Kira said it's in the mountains to the north(?) of the city," Mei answers. "But she... well, it's been hard to get particulars out of her. I know she said it's not a dangerous or, er, arduous trek but she still hasn't said how long it takes. I hope my uniform boots will hold up to the journey."
Mei picks up her pace, quite eager to relieve Cadoras of his Kira-sitting duties.
"Maybe we could find a map in the library to copy or bring along? Just in case it--" the thought dies off. She can't bring herself to voice those doubts or suspicions. "It would be good to have as a backup in case we get lost. Do you think that's something someone could sort tonight? While I meet with Professor Lang again?"
"I'm supposed to take Aurora to dinner tonight but I think I can handle the map assignment before that, I do know my way around the Biblioplex by now." The purple-skinned tiefling says with a reassuring smile as he follows along. "It would be good if we can learn more about the location of the grotto and if we need any equipment to reach it."
"Our Biblioplex whisperer," Mei teases, though is obviously relieved. "Thank you. Hopefully she'll feel a bit more forthcoming this evening."
When they arrive back at the Biblioplex, Mei immediately looks around for any sign of Cadoras and Kira, first checking the cafe as they pass then heading for the Hall of Oracles.
When Mei and the others decide to go to the library, Maeleve declines and heads back to the dorms for the time being. "If you are going out later though please come get me, I just need a nap after that exam."
The group slowly departs from the marshy environment of the Witherbloom campus. Mae heads back for the dorms while the others arrive back to the Biblioplex. Mei is not able to locate Cadoras and Kira immediately. But it doesn't take too long to locate them in one of the book gardens. Malvyn heads off to see about finding maps.
"Ah! We just finished a quick tour of the art gallery," Cardoras says as Mei approaches. "Mei! The snarl was just like the dream! Really, the whole..." She looks at Cadoras, "What did you call it? Ah yes, Hall of Oracles. It was certainly the place we saw. Exactly!"
Malvyn, familiar with the Biblioplex, takes little time to locate the map section. And it doesn't take him long to find maps of Silkmeadow as well as the surrounding region. He spends a little bit of time, but does not find any references to Disyn's Grotto. Not that he expected to. He does find three potential locations where caves have been rercorded in the mountains areas north of the city. He sees about getting a copy of these and a general map of the region.
(OOC - Not sure which direction Guardok would have gone. But he could certainly join either Meior Malvyn.)
Guardok sticks with Mei, hoping she will elaborate on this dream that was exactly like the Hall of Oracles. He certainly gives her a questioning glance when it is mentioned.
Mei sighs with relief as they spot the pair. "Thank you both so much for waiting. It didn't go as horribly as it could have but... well, you couldn't have had a better tour guide," she says with a secretive and grateful brush to Cadoras' hand.
Noticing Guardok's look, she delicately tiptoes into a question. "It's surreal, isn't it? To see something from a vision in real life. I wonder what the significance of showing it to you was? Is there something she needs you to do with it, you think?"
Whenever Malvyn would be finished with his assignment in the Biblioplex he would make an effort to locate Mei and the others if they are still in there. Otherwise he would return to Dresar Hall to look for them there, or simply relax a while at his room before picking Aurora up at 6 o'clock sharp.
Whatever Kira's reply, Mei will then encourage the others back to the dorms to get Kira settled in for a bath or sleep or whatever she feels she needs after her journey. She offers her something else to wear and to prestidigitate her traveling clothes in the meantime and will gently raise the question of her coming along to meet with Professor Lang--who has some questions about Disyn--but will let her know she's in no way required to.
When the time comes (after dinner if that feels appropriate timing), she'll head back to the professor's office.
Kira looks up at Mei, clearly tired but somewhat excited about having seen the place. "Disyn was not very clear. I mean, we all just fell asleep and had the vision. The goddess did not provide much insight to the vision she gave us. But it seemed important to her. I think? It is rather weird though to visit a place that you've never been and have a memory of it in your head." As she tries explaining it, there seems to be a bit of worry creeping into her features.
Cadoras gives Meia smile and greets the others. "It was an interesting tour. She kept wanting to see different parts of the Hall, asking to see different things she remembered. It was... different. It certainly seemed like she had seen the place before." He prepares to head back to his own room, though offers to help out Meiin whatever way she might need.
When Meibrings up the meeting with Professor Lang, Kira seems reluctant at first. Finally though she nods, "Sure. I will go with you." She readily agrees to head back to the dorm. And quickly accepts the bath and then just wants to sit down to rest a bit. She said she'd sleep once they'd met with the professor.
Malvynfinds the others have left but arrives back at Dresar Hall just shortly after the others.
Resting in the lounge, Kira seems a bit more subdued and relaxed. The bath, along with Mei's attentions, seemed to help her not feel so worn down. Though it's inescapable that she still seems tired.
If there is still time before he is supposed to collect Aurora, and if Kira is up to it, Malvyn would try to politely ask for more details on the grotto, it's precise location, showing her the maps he has collected for reference, and then trying to make an estimate on how long it would take to walk from Silkmeadow to the grotto to try to determine what kind of gear they would need for this exciting little expedition beyond the boundaries of civilization.
Mei hugs Cadoras, burying her face in his shoulder for a long moment as gratitude and relief and exhaustion briefly overwhelm her, before thanking him again for all his help. She promises to let him know when they've returned.
Back at the dorms, Mei rests with Kira in the lounge. As Malvyn converses with her, the oracle promptly falls asleep on the floor, ending up half under the coffee table.
((Can Mei try to insight check what the worry creeping into Kira's features is about? Insight: Nat 1 for 5 -_- )
Mae does go back to her room for a little bit of a nap, but then tries to visit Larine at her room. If she sees Mei she will let her know she'll be upstairs in case they need her.
