Mei smiles back at Guardok and gives the spot she pinched a gentle and apologetic pat. Counting down, she stage whispers "Three!" with glee then makes a run for it, though she immediately trips up on the blanket hanging from her arms.
Realizing how cumbersome the bedding, box, and Dryad branch are, she points towards the opposite exit, "Meet you there," then Steps towards it in a cloud of lavender mist.
((Where abouts in Knap in relation to them? Can they hear the owl sounds he druidcrafted with passive or does that need a roll?))
Malvyn does try to hurry away in the direction Knap disappeared but hopefully at a moment while the Campus Guide is distracted so it won't see which way they went. His fiery red eyes goes briefly wide, first with worry as the oracle stumbles, then with surprise as she suddenly disappears in a lavender mist, but not slowing down as he keeps running, holding on to Aurora's hand although it is more likely she leads him by this point.
(Knap has said he hung back. So he's off the path but back towards where you came. And in the direction the Campus Guide is looking. And the direction it is moving. I'll say you all can hear the unusually musical nature sounds. Mei, which way do you go? Is Malvyn going towards Knap? He could hold back some and try ro stay behind the Guide. And Guardok is opposite direction of who?)
(OOC: His plan was to cause fireworks sounds in the opposite direction of where Mei indicates they will run. He was just following her lead in truth. He will attempt to stealth: 16+3=19)
Realizing how cumbersome the bedding, box, and Dryad branch are, she points towards the opposite exit, "Meet you there," then Steps towards it in a cloud of lavender mist.
Mei points to indicate which direction to go then momentarily disappears in a cloud of lavender mist. Guardok casts his spell to create the sound of fireworks back towards the pond where you had all started. He then runs in the direction Mei pointed. Malvyn, hand-in-hand with Aurora, runs off the same direction.
The Campus Guide started off towards the sound, moving away from where you are all going. It does not seem to notice you all leaving so far.
From where Knap is hiding, he can see the Campus Guide coming back down the path. It does not seem to see him.
Malvyn keeps running until he is sure he is out of sight, hoping to spot Mei. "Where did Knap go? Did anyone see where he went?" He asks quickly and quietly as they have gotten away from the Campus Guide. "Perhaps we should call it a night?" He says, looking at Guardok and Mei. "I will take you back home of course." He adds to Aurora with a small smile.
Mei, unlike dwarves, is not a natural sprinter--nor is she dangerous over short distances. She's completely out of breath by the time she's made it to a good spot away from the courtyard. The young diviner laughs in delight, realizing they'd given the Guide the slip, and looks to the others.
"N-No... just that... he was gone," she pants, ignoring the sting of the possibility he'd left them to potential punishment. She tilts her head back to look up at the starry night and forces a few slow breaths deep into her lungs as Malvyn asks about calling it a night. "I guess that's probably best, huh? I was really looking forward to camping," she sighs, though there's still a small smile on her face.
Guardok also scarpers into cover, making sure there is something large between himself and the Campus Guide.
"Well, that was interesting. I really felt like following that guide was the safest and best thing to do for a while there", he says to the others, looking around for Knapp as well.
"Nope, no idea where Knap is. Um, did anyone pick up the box of food by any chance?", he then says realising he left it behind when he became charmed.
Malvyn too is slightly out of breath after the unexpected exercise. "Perhaps another night, but without the camp fire." He says quickly and quietly with a small smile and a wink.
At the mention of the box, the purple-skinned Tiefling feels a shiver of anxiety down his spine. "Would they be able to find out the box is yours?" He asks the earth genasi with a slightly worried look. "Maybe we should try to get it back before the area is examined?"
Mei lifts one of the piled blankets in her arms and, underneath, is the takeaway box nestled safely beside the occult one. There's a little quirk of her lips as she looks between Guardok and Malvyn. "This one?"
Mei ducks her head at the praise, a faint pink tinting her cheeks. “O-Oh, well—snacks are important,” she grins.
Considering whether or not to return to the dorms, the darkness from the Dream continues to plague the back of her mind. The feeling of falling every so often catches her off guard, as though she were falling again. Mei steps forward to right her balance and asks, “You three are headed back then? Maybe Knap went back already too… I hope the Guide won’t make much fuss about things. If it does, I’ll have a word to pick with the administration about enchantment and consent,” she huffs.
The purple-skinned Tiefling breaks out in a relieved smile as Mei reveals she brought along the last piece of incriminating evidence against them, or so he thinks. "Yes, important, for some more than others." He says with a quiet chuckle, looking at the earth genasi gobbling up yet another pastry.
"I wouldn't if I were you Mei, we might be in trouble as it is, the automaton was simply trying make us cooperete and take us to safety after all. Hopefully the fire will not lead to any extensive inquieries. I suggest we try to put that incident behind us now and focus on our own investigation. Now, did you have time to think about possible interpretations of your dream Mei?" Malvyn asks with all the calm he can muster although he is clerly excited over any clues to the mystery they've been brought into.
Mei, Guardok, and Malvynno longer see the Campus Guide. It has headed back down towards the pond and out of sight from where they had all run to. You had noticed the unusually musical nature sounds coming from kind of the same way as the automaton had gone.
Knapis able to remain hiding as the Guide continues past his location. It ends up halting still in sight of his hiding spot, but some distance away. While still on the path, it is examining the area where the fire had been earlier. It is not turned in your direction.
Mei shakes her head. “N-No, I haven’t had a chance to, um… well, to be honest, the whole thing went a bit… differently than usual. With the red and then black it—it felt like interference? Or…” she shivers and rubs her arms, “s-someone there with me?” The surrounding night feels as though it closes in.
"That is spooky", Guardok says a little disturbed by what Mei felt. "There was certainly no-one there we could see".
He wanders back towards Dresar Hall, confident that Knap would be ok and find his own back, considering he wasn't with the Campus Guide when his charm broke.

He wants to stay, flame or not. But he needs to let his friends know. If he can’t find them he will return back to Dresar.
While relieved the Campus Guide seemingly had lost track of them, the purple-skinned Tiefling gives Mei a worried and sympathetic look with his fiery red eyes. "Spooky indeed. Perhaps we should be more prudent with our investigation henceforth. If the entity that was present in your dream is what we seek then it is something quite powerful."
"Yes, we'll talk more at breakfast." Malvyn says as he and Aurora part ways with Guardok and Mei, veering off towards the raven-haired performer's dormitory.

"It was just a takeaway box from the Dresar Hall refectory. I can't remember if it had anything that showed that though", Guardok replies to Mal.
Mei lifts one of the piled blankets in her arms and, underneath, is the takeaway box nestled safely beside the occult one. There's a little quirk of her lips as she looks between Guardok and Malvyn. "This one?"
"Ooh, let me see", Guardok says and takes the box off Mei, opening it and peering inside.
He takes out a cinnamon swirl and holds it up, "This is the one, well done Mei", he reports, before taking a big bite from the pastry.
