Jurgen may quickly assemble some sort of smoky mess to deliver, using the straw bedding and some things from his inventory. It would only take a few moments (but he should make an INT check to do so, to see how effective it is.)
(The scrolls of hold person and fireball are useable by Syzygy, although the latter will require a DC13 Charisma check for Syzygy to successfully cast it. Unless Bryony - who can't make sense of them - objects, Syzygy is welcome to use them whenever he feels the need.)
Meanwhile, Jurgen is welcome to make some sort of smoky "bomb" out of bedding. Roll an INT check to see how well he can construct it (and how effective it is likely to be.) (Edit: INT check: 23. Jurgen definitely knows how to assemble a mean improvised smokebomb!)
Do you want kick the door in and make a grand entrance? Or light up the smoky mess, throw it in, slam the door shut, and wait outside? (Make a STR check of you want to hold it shut from contesting would-be door-openers.) Or sneak in and get a surprise ranged shot? Or something else?
I like option 2. This drow is a wild card here. If we show strength and take out this "king" or whatever they are, perhaps we can avoid fighting the drow. Someone open the door, Quinn fires his longbow, maybe Syzygy attacks with some ranged spell and then Jurgen tosses in the smoke bomb and slams the door.
But I'm open to suggestions.

Another minute passes. The gloom in the castle has deepened. Outside, the sun is likely setting soon. Although muffled, the voices in Goblin seem to continue to discuss the geography around Phandalin. Jurgen recognizes other fleeting words, too, like "Spider", "Mine", "Dwarf", "Gold", and "Map".
The rest of the ruined castle continues to remain quiet, for now, although a distant cracking sound is heard at one point, somewhere to the west. Whether inside or outside the castle, you cannot tell.
“agree, option 2. Everyone ready?” When they are all ready and in position , I will light the fuse, open the door let them each fire and then toss the smoke bomb in.
Surprise. If a combatant is surprised by combat starting, that combatant has Disadvantage on their Initiative roll. For example, if an ambusher starts combat while hidden from a foe who is unaware that combat is starting, that foe is surprised.
(Let's try out the new Surprise rules. Roll initiative! Assuming the occupants of the room are surprised, they will have Disadvantage. But it's possible that even surprised, they could still get the jump on you...)
Jurgen lights the fuse on his improvised smoke bomb, opens the door, and pauses long enough to let his comrades do their thing.
Two figures look up suddenly from the table where they're standing – King Grol, and one of his hobgoblin henchgoblins. Neither Kimberley, nor the dwarf, nor the drow are anywhere to be seen.
Initiative: Quinn: 23 Jurgen: 14 (will pause to let everyone fire, and then toss the smoke bomb in...) Syzygy: 11 Bryony: 17 King Grol: 14 Hobgoblin: 17

The party bursts in. Syzygy is the last to enter. Quinn and Bryony may act first! Then... Jurgen: What's your play?
Quinn rushes in far enough gain line of sight, long bow at the ready. Perhaps he held his shot too long as his muscles begin to tremble. He lets loose a shot towards the king.
He then darts back out the room and stows his weapon.
Action: long bow attack, 10 to hit for 11 dmg

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The room immediately begins to fill with thick, eye-watering smoke as Jurgen slams the door shut. Then it flies open again.
The king stands in the doorway, coughing and choking, his eyes watering. He flails blindly at Jurgen: Morningstar Attack vs. Jurgen: 6. Hit: 10 piercing damage.
An arrow flies wildly through the doorway from behind him: Longbow Attack vs Jurgen: 13. Hit: 13 piercing damage.
Bryony and Syzygy may act next! (Syzygy may attack normally and Bryony with advantage against the king as his vision clears; but normally against the hobgoblin, hidden but also blinded by smoke.)
Initiative: √ Quinn: 23 Bryony: 17 (advantage v. King, while she attacks before his vision clears) √ Jurgen: 14 √ King Grol: 14 √ Hobgoblin: 13 -- obscured in the smoke, but also blinded (neither advantage nor disadvantage to hit it) Syzygy: 11

Quinn is getting increasingly worried that we're losing our window of opportunity. He moves in close to Syzygy and whispers a question.
"Is this the room where they took Kimberly?"

Syzygy nods in answer to Quinn. “The unknown drow working for the spider also in there I suspect.” Syzygy quickly looks again at the scrolls.

Jurgen proposes three options:
1) We toss the smoke bomb in and whack them as they come out
2) We open the door, fire off a couple shots toss the smoke bomb in and shut the door
3) We charge in, and forget the smoke bomb distraction
