Bryony squeals when she sees the badger, temporarily distracted from her worry about her family, especially after learning they were supposed to be offerings to some evil god.
"What's her name?" she asks Jorzu, who can apparently communicate with the cute animal. The halfling feels a surge of jealousy. She would love to learn how to do that!
Bryony does her best not to glare at the goblins too much as she doesn't want to start another fight, but she's not happy with them. Not at all.
"You be careful, ok! I'll see you in half an hour" Jorzu says to Laiti as she follows the badger. "Hmph. This one better have an end" she grunts back in disdain before disappearing with the badger.
Jorzu holds his position several feet back from Fergus, waiting to offer help if needed.
"Ruxithid?" replies the goblin to Fergus. "He's pretty scary. He puts us in harm’s way. Nobody loves Ruxithid. But he was chosen by the gods."
The badger, followed by Laiti, pushes past Quinn and Bryony, into the bedroom. They can see the crude tag dangling from the dirty rope around its neck. Quinn can read the goblin script on it as the badger pushes by.
It's a Goblin name that sounds something like "Bessie".
The badger then pushes open a door in the corner of the bedroom. It's a pantry of some sort - Bryony can see barrels and crates crowding the space within. She watches as the badger and Laiti disappear into a small tunnel dug through the back of the pantry.
”Right, so Ruxithid puts you in harm’s way, and he is down below with some people stolen from our town. Others who were kidnapped have been taken away by blind men to an unknown location,” summarizes Fergus.
”You now have a choice,” he states to the goblins. “You can cooperate with us and stay out of the way while we deal with Ruxithid and rescue our people, or you can continue to be put in harm’s way by your leader and oppose us—at your peril,” he adds calmly but firmly.
”Choose wisely. If you would cooperate, you will need to be locked out of this complex while we go below and deal with Ruxithid. Maybe start a new life far away where you are not required to kidnap townspeople and face the wrath of their protectors. Maybe move back in once everything has calmed down. In any case, this is your only chance—attack us or our town again and there will be no quarter given,” he continues.
Fergus looks at the goblins expectantly, waiting for an answer so they can move forward with reaching the prisoners below.

While Fergus deals with the goblins, Bryony follows the badger and Laiti into Ruxithid's room. She watches as they disappear into a tunnel in the back of the pantry.
"Hey, where are you going?" she calls after the badger. She walks into the pantry and examines the tunnel to see if it's big enough for the rest of the party to pass through if they needed to.
"Hey, the badger found this secret tunnel in here!" she calls back to her companions.
The goblin looks at Fergus uneasily, shifting its weight from foot to clawed foot and looking away. "We can stay out of your way. We can be quiet and not sound the alarm. On two conditions. That you open this door and send the monsters in the old forge back to their death. And that you let us keep this outpost when you're done here."
Meanwhile, Bryony follows Laiti and the badger into the pantry. The smell of mildew is thick in the air here, and the scattering of food visible amongst the barrels and crates looks stale and half-eaten. She continues following them through the tunnel of cool, packed earth, which looks wide enough for everyone to pass through without squeezing, Boona perhaps the sole exception. The tunnel quickly ends in a scramble of rocks under the black night air, which smells clean and fresh compared to what she had been breathing. The badger snorts, lays down, and flips over in the black sand, scratching her back and demanding a fresh belly rub.
”I’ll discuss your offer with my friends. Given that their friends and family was taken by goblins, I don’t like your chances,” replies Fergus, wholly unsure if he can trust these evil creatures to keep their end of a bargain that may very well be more trouble than just fighting them directly.
”What would you guys like to do?” Fergus asks the rest of the group, “They want to bargain instead of just leaving with their lives and promising not to attack us or the town.”

Boonas brow furrows as Fergus speaks and her mind connects three words ' Stolen People Below'..........but she hasn't seen any stairs or tunnels leading below........there is a door though.......that probably leads below.....
Bryony scratches the badger's belly, admiring its soft fur. Some parts are singed though so she's careful not to touch anything that might hurt.
"You'll be okay now," she promises the badger. "You can stay with us if you want. We have a nice farm back in town. You can have all the belly rubs and food you want there."
The halfling wishes she could speak to the badger in its language, but she hopes it understands her at least a little bit. "It's probably not safe for you to come with us right now, but if you find our farm, I can meet you there later!"
Bryony looks up at the pixie flitting about. "Do you think you could make sure she stays safe? And even show her back to the Alderleaf farm?"
After talking to Laiti and the badger, Bryony returns through the tunnel back to where she left her companions just in time to watch Boona run straight toward a barricaded door.
"You're a sweet little thing, aren't you" responds Laiti to Byrony's enquiry. "Sadly I can't. His lordship needs my help, as usual, and I'm sort of bound to do so. When this mess is done with ill make sure to show our friend to your farm" she offers a compassionate compromise. "We'd best get back."
Meanwhile, Jorzu barely dives out of the way as a rampaging Boona comes hurtling through the corridor. He stands and watches as she bashes the door down. "Uh oh"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Bryony returns to the others through the earthen badger tunnel.
Jorzu receives a telepathic message from Laiti:
"Badger dug a hole outside. What am I suppose to do with it now? It just wants to roll around out here."
With a splintery crash, Boona barrels through the barricaded door and finds herself in an ancient forge. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlook a churning blue lava sea. Three large, blackened anvils stand in a row, and unfinished pieces of weaponry and armor litter the room. Above, a stationary conveyor of buckets casts ominous shadows across the forge floor. Standing at each of the anvils is what appears to be an ashen husk of a gray-skinned dwarf. All three pantomime metalwork in eerie synchronization. As they turn toward Boona, they brandish sharp chunks of black rock. With gasping, angry cries, the figures surge forward toward her.
Roll initiative! Three dead blacksmiths:8
Jorzu may get inside the forge is he chooses, with only 25' of movement. Fergus and Jurgen may sprint and get inside in a 60' dash if they want. Quinn and Bryony would need more than 60' of movement to get inside.
Taking a mental note (‘Barbarian not an attentive listener. Ask shorter questions’’), Fergus lets out a small, soundless sigh and prepares to join the battle.

(If me following Boona is cool; sorry been AFK alot lately) - Jurgen readies himself.
