Ruven's lizard backs out of the cavern and tries the other direction, where it finds a debris-choked corridor and a closed double doorway north.
Boona (still holding her torch?) wanders into the hallway. She peers down the stairs to the west, where she sees a large, black, still pool filling much of a natural cavern. The water is dark, revealing little of what might lie within. The shore of the pool consists of a thin layer of broken shells from strange, pale mussels. A fishy odor hangs in the air from that direction.
Ruven brings the lizard back to them. Well, we have water to the west, enemies to the north-east, and probable enemies behind a sealed door to the north-west.

Boona wanders down the stairs to examine the dark, still, fishy-smelling pool. Her feet crunch the broken shells of the strange, pale mussels.
She can see a glimmer of her torch against parts of the back wall, and (very dimly) what looks like a natural pillar or half-submerged stalactite. A sluggish stream flows from the cave to the northeast.

Bryony stays close to Boona. She brings out her torch and examines the water, trying to determine if there's anything in there. Hopefully not another giant octopus though.
Bryony finds the water too dark to see much of anything. It seems to drop off quickly – the water seems quite deep just a couple of feet from the shore.
Jurgen's good eyes can see more of the contours of the cavern.
Jurgen asks, "Does anyone have a big blast (AOE) that we could throw in there? Unfortunately, I do not."
