Moving carefully ahead, Bryony spots a stairway up. Behind her, Jurgen can see that the cavern opens up at the top of the stairs into what looks like a large chamber. Quinn, watching the ceilings so as not to be surprised again, sees nothing but rock.
Bryony climbs the old stairs. The ceiling rises high above her. This is a natural cavern, large enough that she cannot see the other sides with her flickering torch. A pair of large stalagmites rises ahead to either side of a fat natural pillar.
A steep escarpment or ledge drops off abruptly to the east. Carved stone stairs also climb down to this other part of the cavern to the east. The skeletal remains of dozens of dead warriors attest to the fierceness of the fighting that took place long ago. Bryony: Make a Perception check to notice anything further.
Quinn intends to stand guard and down here. He'll stand with his back to the staircase scanning the various corridors making sure nothing sneaks up on the group.

Ruven climbs the stairs as well, looking around the cavern, taking notes of the various skeletons laying around and trying to piece together what happened:
Ruven climbs the stairs and enters the huge cavern, examining the skeletal remains. They are inanimate and long dead, killed violently in battle.
He notices something else, too, with his keen darkvision. Five sets of dead eyes, staring back from the shadows to the north. One silently tilts its head like a hungry dog.
Ruven is out in the open, as the dead things close in. (The closest is currently about 15 feet from Ruven.)
Bryony is about 45 feet distant, but she cannot see them yet. (She may shoot blindly, at disadvantage, if she chooses.)
Boona is about 50 feet distant, and also sees nothing yet. (Ditto)
Jurgen is 75 feet of movement away, but can sprint up the stairs in 30 feet of movement, and will then be able to see them 45' away with his darkvision.
Quinn is at the back, and currently unaware of the commotion. (Quinn: Roll initiative at disadvantage.)
Jurgen, and anyone else who rolls a 5 or higher initiative, may act!
Sighing as he jumps into action with yet more undead, Ruven shuffles back 15 feet, firing off 3 magic missiles at the closest ghoul while back-pedaling.

Jurgen races up the stairs and lands a bolt in the shoulder of dead thing #1. It pauses only momentarily in its advance on Ruven.
Ruven backs up and fires three glowing bolts into the same animated corpse. It is looking damaged.
Boona and Bryony may roll initiative and then act if they roll a 5 or higher! Bryony is about 45 feet distant, but she cannot see them yet. (She may shoot blindly, at disadvantage, if she chooses.) Boona is about 50 feet distant, and also sees nothing yet. (Ditto)
Boona ran forward towards the dead body lying in the middle of the chamber, as she ran she couldn't see what the others were firing at but she suspected it was dangerous.....and she had only minutes ago failed to protect them from other danger......
She held her torch up making herself a target for whatever might come out of the dark.....
