Boona finds the statues to be inert. They are expertly carved, if quite dusty.
Quinn and Fergus carefully enter the dim chamber, which Fergus recognizes as an old sparring chamber. Old weapon racks – mostly picked bare by looters but some containing a handful of old, broken weapons – are along this sparring chamber’s west and northwest walls, while three stands hold various pieces of armor to the north. The marks in the wall suggest there was once much sparring here, perhaps. A second, smaller door leads east.
Fergus sees nothing invisible here, although three sets of armor hanging on the north wall have an odd, hazy, ethereal quality to them that Fergus reckons to be somehow invisible-adjacent(?). (To Quinn, they look like more junky gear on the wall.)
Pointing to the three sets of armor, Fergus warns, “Beware, there is something otherworldly that lingers on or in those sets of armor—perhaps they are animated by some fell echo of life and will attack us if we approach too near.”

"Oop, and we're going in there" Jorzu says to himself as Quinn and Fergus slip into the first room. He dashes over to join them, hurrying in case the door is trapped and closes behind them.
Once inside he takes in the sparring room. Spotting the door to the south he joins Quinn. "I'd say that leads to the same place as the door on the next landing in the main hall. Boona was attempting to open it. Perhaps we could ambush the inhabitants from 2 sides if we coordinate an attack?"
As Boona heads toward the door to try to push upon it, two boulders near the collapse suddenly roll forward and unfurl themselves to reveal rudimentary arms, legs, and heads.
"Stop," says one stony bipedal form.
"Leave now," says the other, and assumes a fighting stance, ready to strike if Boona does not obey.
Meanwhile, Fergus and Quinn are joined by Jorzu in the sparring room, as Jorzu eyes the southern door. They venture in a few more steps. All remains quiet here; the armor remains inanimate.
Boona stopped and stepped back from the door, " I leave. Who you? Look a bit like Karst..."
She summoned the Stony rhino from the stone hoping maybe they would like someone similar to themselves.....even if she did probably have some Stone Giant somewhere in her complicated ancestry.
Jurgen continues toward Boona with Hero behind him. He is just beginning to descend the second staircase when the rock things reveal themselves. Bryony is at the top of the first set of stairs, keeping an eye on the big doorway behind them.
(Can the sparring room trio hear the rock golem speaking?) Jorzu does not. The rock things were speaking clearly and with intent, but not shouting. But Quinn and Fergus are more perceptive than Jorzu. Either may roll a DC15 Perception check to notice an unfamiliar voice behind and some distance from them.
Karst boils up from the ground. The two rock things don't appear to even notice – they are intensely focused on Boona, making sure she does not attempt to open or enter the eastern door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fergus:
Hearing unfamiliar voices, Fergus says, “Quinn, something is happening out in the hallway—we should make sure everyone is okay.”
Walking out into the hallway, Fergus sees the statues and tries to think how they might be pacified if they are indeed creations dedicated to Dumathoin.

Quinn doesn't hear a thing, but he trusts Fergus' instincts. He steps out into the hallway and spots Boona, Karst and the two stone creatures.
Quinn clips Lightbringer to his belt in hopes of deescalating the situation. He walks partway down the stairway with his right hand open showing that he is not armed. He notes that the creatures seem to be fixated on Boona. Quinn raises his hand above his head and silently waves at the stone creatures.
DM: Do the stone creatures notice or react to Quinn?

Fergus and Quinn spin and exit the room at the sound of an odd voice outside. (Does Jorzu follow suit?)
One of the stone creatures seems to track Quinn, as he catches up with Jurgen at the top of the stairs.
"No entry," says one, slowly. "Leave now." Then it begins to growl low, strange words in an unknown tongue. (Does anyone here speak Primordial or Terran?) They assume aggressive postures but do not yet attack.
As the other two push past him Jorzu says in a bewildered manner ; "Did I miss something?" He turns and follows the others back into the hall and looks down towards Boona and the confrontation. "Oh dear. Perhaps you could offer some music to calm things down" he says to Fergus.
Jorzu tries to calm down the situation. One boulder-thing sits down and partially curls back into a quasi-spherical shape, resembling the other big rocks nearby. The other does not budge.
"We guard our Lady," it says, slowly and thickly. "No entry."
Boona pokes the statues with her finger in case any of them want to come to life and fight.....

Boona didn't understand the creatures and began walking back up the stairs but stopped halfway up.
" Why not allowed through door? Is bad inside? Or you guard something?"

Bryony scrambles down the stairs toward Boona even as she moves away from the rock creatures.
"Who is your Lady?" the little halfling demands. "Where's my aunt? Do you guard prisoners taken from the village?"

Boona History- 1
The name "Honna" means nothing to Boona, nor to any of you.
Boona shrugs and begins walking back up to the door the others were investigating earlier....
