The door opens to a foyer and central room of the tower with an obsidian floor. There are four braziers burning brightly to illuminate the room. None of them give off smoke. You can see a large magic circle engraved upon the floor of the central chamber. The ceiling is about 12' high where you see in the foyer. The central chamber has a roof that is not visible. A gentle breeze flows from the open door into your face as you peer inside. Four large doors are seen in the central chamber.

Xymox and Starker enter the tower. The floor is polished obsidian, though not as slick as you would expect for that. Four large, ornate doors exit from the central chamber. Pillars surround the periphery of this room extending to the ceiling above. The center of the tower is open. The next three levels of the tower can be seen as tiers of a cake. A ceiling is finally seen at what is likely the fifth story of the tower. This central open column is about 30' in diameter. Floating within the open space is an elongated cloud of roiling, pulsating, throbbing magical energy that folds in upon itself in a constant cascade of power. This is about 10' in diameter, leaving about 10' of space between it and the edges of each tier. The lowermost extent is about 10’ up from where you stand.
Starker's fine powder hangs in the air, suspended where he tossed it. It begins to subtly move along ley lines of energy. Some moves upwards, some down, some hangs in place. The inscribed circle is actively magical. It appears to be a teleportation circle as well. Its sigil sequence now known to Starker and Xymox.
Trolkarl enters and listens to the conversation regarding the circle.
Is this something we can engage in now? If not, perhaps we could find answers beyond one of the doors here. Five stories here. Who knows, Starker, this place may even contain more books.
Starker:”A moment, please. Sariel, we have a Gate Scroll. As it is far above what I can assuredly case I am hesitant to make the attempt. Is it something you could use with greater confidence?
”I am not sure we have time to browse a library. I quake with fear of being snapped back to the mukbaks.
”I would be willing to use this teleportation device in the hopes that it leads to a more likely place for us to find our way home.”
Serethia answers Kragen, "The spell is beyond my capabilities as well. But, I may be closer than either of you. If you think it our only answer I am willing to try."
Sariel adds, "We are not yet to the final moments of our stay on the Ethereal. I will let you know when that time is nigh."
Starker :”If that moment should come then I am willing to try to cast the spell. Perhaps with Father Kragen’s blessing and Xymox’s words of encouragement and any othet sid you might lend me I might succeed.”

Xymox will bestow Bardic Inspiration to Starker upon request. "Glady mage Starker! My encouragement is the least I can do to help the murder monkey's master!"

Kragen follows his fearless friends and assists in the investigation.
Perception check 3+6=9 (yes, thats with advantage)🤪
Kragen has nothing to add to Xymox and Starker's evaluations.
Serethia and Kellen move inside as well as Sariel. Serethia’s examines the circle and the magic field above with a raised eyebrow.
Chadwick walks around the circle nodding sagely, but isn't sure what the heck he is even looking at.
Perception 2
Don't forget the pretty lights suspended over your head.....
Trolkarl enters and listens to the conversation regarding the circle.
Is this something we can engage in now?

Xymox: "Kragen, my good fellow wall-crawler, should walk the walls upward?"
Chadwick walks over to the door on the east, then looks back at Kragen. "Wanna check if those goggles can find any traps?"
Chadwick also checks the door: perception 8, he finds the non-secret door (barely)
Chadwick finds no traps.
Sariel replies to Starker, “I am not versed in the use of magic spells. My abilities are granted to me by my patron. The scroll is of no use to me.”
Kragen addresses some of rhe options being presented.
"Mage Starker, i can use the Gate Scroll, it is powerdul magic, greater than my capabilities so there is a risk that it will not be successful."
"Serethia, whats your assessment of this magic circle? Can use the gate scroll to access our planes?"
Turning to Xymox "we certainly can reconoiter the area, however this floating mass of gas has me concerned. What do we suspect it is?"
Kragen turns to Chadwicks request. "Cetainly, will be right there." Then kragen waddles over to the door Chadwick is at and investigates for traps.
