Starker:”But for the moment, perhaps I should use this teleportation circle. In my Bastion Tower, I assure you I will not make guests climb the walls and in my dotage I will not trudge up my Tower’s stairs.
“Father Kragen, perhaps you should hold this in case I am mistaken as to thr function of this floor decoration and it is a curiouly placed trash incinerator.
”Cyrus, to me!”
<hands Kragen Gate scroll, waits until Cyrus has scrambled up to his accustomed shoulder, and walks onto design, uses sigil to activate.>
“No, my meaning is unclear,” Sariel continues. “The sigil sequence ‘names’ this teleportation circle. The doors are held fast by another enchantment.”
Above you, the collection of roiling energy continues to fold in upon itself. Three separate levels on the tower can be seen above.
The rest of you notice that Starker’s robes seem to be floating upwards on his person as he remains within the circle. The fine dust used in evaluating the circle remains suspended in the air, slowly floating about.
You can see three additional levels above you, open to the central shaft. The central shaft is 30’ in diameter. The energy cloud is 10’ in diameter in the center of the shaft. There are no walls between the shaft and the levels above. It is a wide open space.
All four of the doors here are locked. Xymox attempts to open them without success. Some magic is locking them.
Starker's clothing is rising up and loose ends are floating upwards. The fine powder he used to investigate the circle hangs in the air, drifting about.
Kragen and Xymox ascend the walls to the next tier. It is paved in marble. Four large windows are open, allowing a gentle breeze to flow through. An occasional crystal drifts through on occasion.
Comfortable furnishings are set about the perimeter of this level. Fine silk rugs are on the floor and tapestries and paintings are on the walls.

Starker names the sigil sequence. And… nothing happens.
With odd thoughts of the letters TPK entering his thoughts Chadwick proceeds through the door.
The door is locked
Chadwick looking over at Xymox "Locked, your turn"
Xymox attempts to pick said lock. 7, 22.
Once the door is unlocked and everyone stands back at least 10' Chadwick will open it.
Xymox is unsuccessful.
Sariel offers, “It is an enchantment that holds each of these portals. You are unlikely to gain passage through mundane means.”
"The Watcher indicates that the sigil sequence may unlock certain doors. Maybe try again Mage Starker?"
“No, my meaning is unclear,” Sariel continues. “The sigil sequence ‘names’ this teleportation circle. The doors are held fast by another enchantment.”

"If you think you can pull this off, I am all for it," Serethia says to Starker. "Get us out of here."
Kellen nods in agreement.
Sariel stands by, inscrutable.
Starker, I can not give you Tyr's guidance like Kragen. I can not inspire you with a melody like Xymox. But you have my full trust.
Sariel says, “I suggest the destination of your Gate be to the the shoreline of the Soulsease River, before the Citadel of Axiom on Dothion.”

"Master Bard, shall we see what is on the other levels? May provide more clues how to get out of here."
Then looks.up to make sure they can walk the walls without interacting with the cloud.

"Sariel, shall we head up too?"
“I will not be able to spread my wings enough in this confined space to carry you, Paladin. I am sorry,” Sariel responds.
Kragen quickly investigates the fine furnishings and this level for anything unusual or odd.
Perception check =3+6=9
As Kragen is doing this, if he comes in reach of a crystal, he will attempt to grab one and examine.
