Xymox will attempt to walk to the top, unless hindered. He will look for anything useful or "out of the ordinary". (Perception check=19}
The furniture is of expert workmanship. All is of plush and rich materials. Silk, damask, and velvets dominate. The wood is polished and lustrous. Many different styles are represented.
Xymox reaches out and grabs a crystal, freezing in place for a few moments. The crystal slips from his grasp and his eyes refocus from the thousand-yard-stare they briefly had.
To Kragen and anyone that is nearby, "I had a brief experience that I was a knight of some sort...armor and shield...in a cavern of molten rock. A huge eye peered into my soul...all knowing...I seemed to be alive only for its amusement." Xymox blinks a few times. "Then I was back here, in the tower."
Xymox and Kragen have ascended to the next level up by walking on the walls. They seem to have found a large sitting room.
The rest of you are on the ground floor. Starker stands within the circle, his clothes have billowed up. They seem to hang in the air about him rather than on him. The testing dust he used floats about in the air above the magic circle.
Sariel looks on, watching upwards towards Cymox and Kragen.
Serethia moves to the circle to examine it.
Kellen moves to the door and looks outside, watching for visitors.
Sariel gently uses his wings to float up to the level Xymox and Kragen are searching.
Who keeps a collection of memories in crystals? These haven’t been nice things you would want to preserve. They all seem rather traumatizing
Anything to fix a rope to on those levels?
Furniture leg?
Kragen looks at Xymox, concerned wth the effects. Seeing he is back to his normal self, turns and heads to investigate the next level.
Xymox looks for anything that will use as an anchor. He will then tie the rope to it (chair leg?) and test to see if it is secure.
Kragen ascends to find the next level to be a library. Shelves of books, tables, chairs and book stands fill the area. The floor is wood along with wood paneling. The same four windows are equally spaced on this level. The amethyst crystals drift through here as well.
Sariel floats up to this level as well, barely using his wings.
Starker and Serethia are on the ground floor, standing within the circle. Each of them is experiencing their clothing rising up around them. Starker’s fine dust hovers in the air still.
Kellen watches out the door.
Starker:”I may have not taken the gravity of the situation into account.”
<while still on the symbol, gently tosses Cyrus up in the air>
Starker:”I suggest we make the Gate Scroll attempt when our new colleague believes there is little time left. If we find an alternative means of escape and can save the incredibly rare and vsluable scroll for future use, study, sale, or transcription.”
Xymox ties a rope around a suitably large leather sofa.
Cyrus gently floats up in the air. Rising to the second level of the tower. Xymox and he make eye contact as Cyrus continues to slowly drift higher.
After fetching the monkey from the ceiling, perhaps we could test rope tethered perpendicular to the free fall magic circle region a level up . I was thinking Xymox could just drop us the rope to climb but it looks like stopping may be more an issue than moving up.
Cyrus continues to drift upwards. He now is on the same level as Kragen.
Serethia watches the Murder Monkey float up into the air. She hops up and begins to float upwards as well. When she reaches the level Xymox is on she reaches out to him. Before he can react, Serethia floats towards the landing and gently steps onto the floor beside him.
Xymox will attempt to "hop on" and follow Serethia.
Serethia gives Xymox a funny look as they stand next to each other in the sitting room level.
Xymox: "Let's look around and see if we can find anything useful...or valuable." Perception = 7. /never mind.
Chadwick will start climbing up the rope and see if he can can get any assistance from the floating.
Athletics: 24
Assuming he doesn't plummet to his death.
*Gives an appreciative whistle* "Wow, this is nice nice (slaps a sofa and sits in a chair). You know how expensive good furniture is! I was pricing it when setting up the manor and I think it's going to cost more than the guard towers. Do you think this would go with an early century dwarven motif? Starker you think we could bring that armoire back with us when we gate out of here?
(Looks around pondering) it's like a library, but for memories."
/OOC Looks like we are spread out on a couple of different floors. Are each of them basically the same?
Xymox and Serethia search the sitting room area. There is nothing that stands out other than very nice furniture and decorations.
Chadwick easily ‘climbs’ to the sitting room level.
Kragen has found a library on the level above,
Starker, Kellen and Trolkarl remain on the first floor,
Cyrus continues to climb in the air.
Xymox yells for the others to hear. "Companions, spread out and look for something that can get us back home. Time is running out."
