<I will accept your counsel here, Master Trolkarl. I am not comfortable with the Wizardess, i want her head! However, parlay with the Traitor and see what he offers. Know that i am willing to share my blood for my Bretheren today!>
Kragen walks to the doors with Chadwick. Completes a prayer to Tyr, preparing to demonstrate to this Kobold hoard the power of Tyr.
Chadwick to Kragen while passing him on the way toward the door: "At least she said please" he says rolling his eyes. He appears less fervent than before.
Company Net: "Trollkarl, your up. We've seen your level head when negotiating with traitors. (Pauses a second) Sorry, no offense meant."
Starker over CompanyNet:”Even with the bard’s inspiration the Gate scroll may be too complex for me to use effectively. Does anyone have the ability to help me?”
Over CompanyNet: Noted, Starker. Hold your positions. All of you. No further action unless I signal.
Sheathes Darkbane and walks to the Wall of Force. He places one hand flat against its invisible surface and looks through it at Yartol.
Yartol. I am here. The dragon controlled you. I heard you. I believe you. What I cannot yet explain is why you failed to warn us and helped the dragon. That question will need a more clear answer. but not here, and not now.
Glances briefly upward toward where Allindra’s voice last came from.
Your wife has ordered the deaths of Kragen and Chadwick. I will tell you plainly, if that order is carried out, there is no road back from this. None. Whatever the dragon compelled you to do, that choice would be yours.
Yartol. Look at us. We are battered and spent but we are still standing after the dragon. Your kobolds will overwhelm us in the end. I will not pretend otherwise, it is obvious. But before the last of us falls, one of us will reach Allindra. You know this to be true. You have seen us in many battles.
I do not say this as a threat. But we both know how these things end when neither side steps back. She survives this only if you end it now.
If you love her and I believe you do then you are the only one in this room who can save her, and perhaps all of us. Call them off. Give us a path to talk. You have my word as a man of Cormyr, Company will not strike first.
Yartol approaches the wall near Trolkarl. He listens to what Trolkarl says and replies. “We do not wish to fight you. But, let’s be clear. I HAVE been watching you fight, and learning. Allindra is flying AND invisible. Both are situations you struggle to face. She is away. You can’t stop her. I have escaped from your clutches and Xymox’s terrible blade once. I will again. So, please stop threatening us. You WILL kill many of the kobolds. But, it is they who will be standing last. Is this worth dying for to you?”
He hold up his hand to indicate he is not done, “Let us move past the threats. What I promised still holds. Kill the dragon, get the treasure. Circumstances necessitate the kobolds getting their share first now. They are simple and will not claim more than can be borne by you.” He pauses and gets a pained look, “The first group I brought here had a paladin of Tyr as well. Gaury Buckthorn. He was strong, capable and full of self-righteous zeal. Once Gryndrenur felled his companions he cried like a little girl and offered the information that I recruited him to kill the dragon AND that we would help in exchange for his life. She truly enjoyed bringing a haughty paladin to begging for his life. She ate him first, slowly. He lived for three hours. She made us sit next to him and hold him down then promised to me that the same will happen to Allindra if she finds I have tried that again. She then spent the next six months torturing Allindra, physically and psychically with me as audience.”
He gets a distant sad look, but presses in, “My Draconic is poor, but I think she ordered the deaths of Kragen and Chadwick. That is what she did that.”
”We are leaving. If you follow, I will not be able to stop Allindra from working to kill you. And I am at her side. We WILL be free now,” he stops and looks Trolkarl in the eye. “The kobolds will not harm you if you stop fighting and allow us to go. They are instructed to keep you here for three days. Then you can go. That is our alternative offer,” he concludes and backs away from the wall.
"I knew of Sir Buckthorn, he was know for his commitment to Tyr and the order. He disappeared 5 years ago and nobody knew what happened to him." Even over the telepathic link his voice has gone cold and steely again.
Anyone looking in his direction can see the struggle to keep his violence at bay.
"Tell him we want to know where items of those they murdered are so at least we can give closure to their victims. Or a list of names if they can even remember them all."
Yartol's shoulders sag a bit, "Trolkarl, we are leaving. We are not negotiating anything that we are obligated to do. The choice is for The Company to stop fighting, and survive. Or, fight to your deaths." He then adds after a short break, "Please choose quickly. Delaying much longer will make the choice for you and that is the choice where I can no longer offer you safety."
Kragen hearing Trolkarl's agreement to desist, looks to Yartol with a steely glare. "Ranger, we will honor the 'cessation'." looks to Chadwick "However, know that you, and your wench, have been 'Marked for Judgement'. Not for your betrayal to The Company, but for your betrayal to your kind! The Scales of Justice always balance."
"We have a deal then. You will all put away weapons and stop casting spells. The kobolds will escort you to a safe place to wait for three days. If you attack the kobolds, they will defend themselves. As long as you stay put, do not wander or try to leave they will leave you alone," Yartol replies to Trolkarl. "We are leaving. I wish you, Xymox and Starker well. Under different circumstances, and I had hoped for this when I jumped down the chute, we could be friendly I think. Please do not search for us."
With that, Yartol walks to the white kobold who then casts a Fly upon him. Up high, in the dome of the ceiling, you see Allindra floating in the air. Yartol flies up to join her and out of the ceiling they go. The white kobold yells a command in his barking, Draconic voice (translated by Starker), "Open the doors. We guard them for three moons. The Queen is victorious!" Several of the swarms remain on guard around you and the doors behind you open to reveal more kobolds. These make a path for you back the way you entered the great hall. Others begin chipping away at the ice to remove the treasure from the walls.
Starker, in Draconic:”Colleague, I would learn more of the Queen who defeated us. If you cared to tell me of her glories sometime during my temporary captivity I would be grateful. Thank you for considering this request from a humiliated former foe.”
Starker walks down the path opened by the kobolds. When he gets to where ever they want him to wait he sits down.

Trolkarl using those master negotiation skills. What Chadwick really meant to say was....
