Chadwick searches the double door at the base of the tower. They are strong appearing door made of oak with reinforcing iron bands. There is a large handle on each of the doors made of iron. No locks or other mechanisms can be seen. There are no traps he can see.
(( The orcs were searched in the previous fight ))
Kragen prepares for the shitstorm that is going to occur when we open these doors. Pretty obvious to all inside we are coming!! Nothing like the direct approach. 😁
Starker to Chadwick: Thank you. Sorry to interrupt. However, it *is* gratifying to conceive, design, and carry out such a definitive experiment to refute a hypothesis.
Chadwick looks like a bewildered dog as Starker explains what he's doing. Then he reaches down and claps him on the shoulder and says "well if your happy, I'm happy Starker".
Was Chadwick able to hook the door handle with the pick?
Hmmm … any place where that Signet Ring coild be smooshed usefully?
If not, Starker suggests, “what if the doughtiest of us pretends to be bound to those posts? I could cast Protection from Evil on them, and they could surprise the approaching fiend at sunset whilst we leap out from behind the tower and attack the fell enemy with spells and ranged attacks. I would like to observe that I am not doughty.”
Starker goes over to the well (?) north of the tower and investigates. Does it look as thought it might serve as a hidden entrance into the tower? Or as though it has been used recently by anything other than orcs?
The well here is old and the stone walls are constructed with the same stone as the tower. It is weather beaten, but still appears solid. No lift mechanism remains. The water is 40’ down.
Nothing out of the ordinary is seen with the well.
Starker: “Wasn’t there was a similar set of restraints below, suggesting that the sacrifice, if that is what they are for, could be effectuated in either place? If so, perhaps there is a connection from that location to this tower. Maybe the pool?”

Any of the openings low enough to be Misty Step-able?
There are no openings. There are windows up high with wooden shutters.
Chadwick says "Guess I'll give it a try" waits a bit for anyone who wants to move back to be able to, then tries to heave it open.
Chadwick’s hand is stopped before he can grasp the door handle. He cannot get any closer than 2” from the door.
Chadwick pokes at it a couple more times, then laughs to himself.
"I guess it's like a protection from evil spell, but from good."
He'll try and grab the handle with one of the picks.
Starker says ‘One second, please. Let me try.’ And tries to grasp the door handle.
Starker has the same result. There is an invisible, physical barrier keeping him from touching the door handles.

Hoid to Starker, “He probably doesn’t know what a hypothesis is.”

Can Mage Hand grasp it? Ritual Jievs?
Nothing makes it to the door. There is an invisible barrier preventing any contact.
When you attempt to use Mage Hand or Unseen Servant both wink out before coming into contact with the invisible barrier.

You have not seen anything looking like an impression of the signet ring.
You all spend time trying to open the door and looking about at this area of the tower. It is now middle afternoon.
