Running out of surrogates, you all find the courage to enter the hedge of thorns yourselves. A long line formation with 15' between each of you is formed and you travel into the paths and through the clearing with the poisoned pool of water. The glittering gold necklace is visible in the bottom of the shallow pool as you walk by. Once Hoid reaches the branching in the path Kragen is finally into the hedge as well. From the walls of thorns you hear, "Why have you come to disssturb me in my home?"

Does it sound like a "human" male? Female? ....or a large lizard voice, maybe?
First, we are sorry to have disturbed your sleep. We have come to your home to speak about the hags.
I believe we share common enemies
Our group was also attacked by the coven of hags at the lake. We are strangers in this land and do not understand the customs. We hope to learn your side of the situation and hopefully something of our enemies and their weaknesses
Kragen makes his suggestion to Trolkarl who then addresses the voice in the hedges.
"Ssstrangerssss, indeed. All who reside here know to fear Balenfoliumnax and her wrath!," the voice hisses. "My motivationssss are mine own, not for sssharing with impetuousss tresssspassserss." There is a pause and then the voice continues, "What cursse does the dwarf ssspeak of?"
Ajax turns invisible.
(( Are you continuing forward? Stopping where you are? ))
Great Balenfoliumnax, we recognize your power and did not come to challenge you. But to seek understanding and perhaps an opportunity if our interests align.
The hags are both cunning and cruel. They have cursed us with a weakness, making us vulnerable. We believe the remaining hags pose a threat to us but perhaps they are also a nuisance even to one as mighty as yourself.
Should you choose to share anything with us from your great wisdom is only so we can act as instruments of your own in this matter of dealing with these pests.
There is silence on the other side of this conversation for a bit, then "My actionsss against the coven betray our animosssity. They have challenged my claim over thisss territory." You hear the beating of wings and a *squishy* landing among snapping limbs on the interior side of the brambles. "What makesss you think you are ussseful to me in your weakened, CURSSSED, condition?"
Only that the battle is yet incomplete. The power of these lands remains contested following the last battle. One of their coven is dead, fallen to the mighty Balenfoliumnax. But two remain to challenge you.
Your insight is unmatched. We would be more useful to you without this curse upon us. If one - knowledgable such as yourself- knew of a way to rid us of our curse, we could be even more effective instruments. Better able to ensure the power of this land is no longer challenged.
Of course, we would be happy to leave this realm with our strength returned, and no further disturbances to your lair. But if our service helps to restore the rightful order, we would be delighted to diminish the hag menace over your claim forever.

Gneuman will slowly creep closer, moving towards the sound of the voice.
Gneuman will slowly creep closer, moving towards the sound of the voice.
Move token on the map.
The voice seems to be coming from all around you. You heard *something* make what you believe is a landing in swampy ground directly towards the center of the hedge circle.

Gneuman looks through the thicket in the direction of the voice and a potential direct path to it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Persuasion = 21
"You feel that I am 'menaced' by these hags? And that your comings and goings are meaningful to me? Or, that my lair is yours to enter again unless your conditions are met?!," the voice becomes more intense. And, curiously loses the elongated S sounds. "I care not about your curses, or, lack of them. So far you only have disturbed my lair and offered opinion that somehow I am not dominion over these lands."

You would guess dragon. Female.
[see ooc for suggestion]
Any response?
“Trolkarl, you seem to have a way of speaking with others, will you treat with Balefoiumnax?”
”Maybe you can find out the reason She attacked the lake Hags and how we can remove this curse?”
Kragen says this to Trolkarl?
calling out as Kragen asks…

Correct.

Trolkarl will stop.

The thicket is densely overgrown and has very large, sharp thorns. You are unable to see much beyond 1' from the path.
In draconic: “Also, for the sake of completeness, Your Majesty, please note that not all of us are accursed.”
