Starker psychicly communes with Cyrus Magnus: “Please go check on Gneuman and Ajax and let me know if they are where we left them and if they are well. As best you can, indicate that we in here are ok, for now.”
You are unfamiliar with giff but the guards are not the same guards at the base of the steps that were there last time.
The aide smiles graciously to Chadwick's question, "Mr Vox has a busy agenda. He is ready to see your representative now. Who will accompany me to his office?"
While it is a bit rude to ignore the aide, he takes it in stride.
I mentioned Chadwick saying his appreciation for the entertainment.
His question to the aide was when Vox might make an appearance. Did the aide not say thing until after Chadwick left?
My initial response was to a post of Chadwick getting up to question the performers and Starker sending Cyrus out after the aide arrived and spoke with you. The Chadwick post is not there any longer so I modified the aide's interaction. Go with the above post now.
Starker, enraged but quiet, being himself as instructed: “Clearly tonight is inauspicious. I began to think so when we were kept waiting for hours. I now know it is because of how rudely these arbitrary ukases are spat at us by nameless underlings. Shame, a hissing shame on it! Vox himself asked for our help in exchange for information. He can come out and divulge the information, here, with the three of us, and in the sight (if not hearing) of all these patrons!”

The aide deadeyes Starker in return. "Sit down!," he hisses. "You are a group of well-described burglars who violently attacked the guards at a warehouse early in the morning hours and now show up here with demands of my patron. It would not take much to have the Magistrates know your exact whereabouts at any moment, wizard." He takes a moment to compose himself and turns to Chadwick, "If you are to represent your group, please follow me. Or don't, I care not. Mr Vox will acquire the item eventually, with or without you." He then turns and briskly walks towards a side door to the kitchens.
Starker does not sit down: “I am not a dog to be commanded by a cur such as yourself. Those selfsame magistrates would no doubt be interested in who hired us and in exchange for what. Slink back to your master and fetch him like the good dog you are!”
We are rather busy ourselves. And as you can see, our patience has limits.
Perhaps out of respect for your employer and our time, we could move things forward. Please apologize to my friend for winding him up with these threats. We will all remain professional conducting this business.
Looking to Chadwick
Your call
Then back to the aide waiting for Chadwick to decide.
Maybe an apology and a plate of fresh sliced mangos. Thank you!
Chadwick looks between his friends and the aide during the exchange, then stands up. "Please pardon Mr. Starker, he hasn't been sleeping well. Something about the gravity or atmosphere I think he said? Spends too much time with his nose in books if you ask me, I need to get him to go to ball with me sometimes." He gives Starker a wink.
"Perhaps it's best if I go so we can get things settled up. It would be nice to see my cousin's comely friend again." He says happily.
He fills his mug, then says "lead on good sir!" And follows the aide.
Starker to Trokarl: “I will inform Gneuman. Shout if you need me or a fireball or two.”
Heads out to where Gneuman is located, walks past Gneuman, not looking at or greeting him. Walks another yard, kneels and starts adjusting his shoes. With head bowed says “They kept us waiting until just now. We haven’t seen Vox. A supposed aide insisted only one of us go into another room to meet with Vox. Chadwick volunteered and was heading in when I left. I have a bad feeling about this.” Casts Mage Armor (if not already up). Stands up, pauses for a moment to see if Gneuman or Ajax have anything to say/suggest, and heads back to door of Vox’s establishment, staying just outside.

Trolkarl will look to Chadwick and Starker
Let's not keep him waiting, busy agenda and all.
Once everyone has stood, he will smile at the aide
Thank you. Lead the way.
Starker follows Trokarl’s lead, silently checks in with Cyrus to get news of Gneuman and Ajax.
The aide smiles and nods, "I am sorry but seem to have spoken poorly. Mr Vox will see your representative now. Which one of you will that be?"
I've noticed the caching bug seems to have started popping up again, maybe that's what happened?
Chadwick putting on his most puzzled face (not hard) "We were all there for the initial discussions, why the change now?"
The aide responds to Chadwick, “Mr Vox will explain his decisions. Are you to accompany me, then?” He starts to move away from the table.

Psychically to Cyrus:”Indicate they are to stay there and not come in, yet”

The aide continues on, deaf to Starker’s words.
Starker shrugs and looks to the wise Trokarl and charismatic Chadwick for guidance.
Trolkarl stepping between Starker and the aide.

The aide turns to Trolkarl, “If you are coming, come now.” He the walks on.
Starker:”I’d rather have the wand than his ‘information’. Let’s leave, get the reward for saving the shrubbery ship, and get back to Faerun.”
Chadwick looks between his friends and the aide during the exchange, then stands up. "Please pardon Mr. Starker, he hasn't been sleeping well.
