Yartol replaces his blades into their scabbards. He retrieves his bow and looks to the slightly opened doors. “Your buddy isn’t going to be cross with you later for having him kick the hornets nest, is he,” he asks Trolkarl.
The great doors open outwards, towards you. Beyond is a large burial chamber. The floor is covered in granite and quartz tile. The walls are faded frescoes of demonic figures, blasted plains with odd vegetation and animals and other weird scenes. The far wall shows a large temple complex set in a mountain range with four tall, obsidian obelisks at the corners of a huge rectangular plinth. Steps lead up to the platform of the plinth. Set in the center of this is a large, obsidian pyramid with four sides. What appear to be two humanoids holding long staves tipped in purple crystal clusters with octopus appearing heads stand guard in front of this pyramid. Three large sarcophagi are set in this room. They are made of rose-colored granite and heavily engraved with symbols of power, demonic faces and decorative borders. A large pentagram within a magic circle is carved atop the central, larger sarcophagus. The two flanking sarcophagi have a depiction of a demonic face in place of this magic circle.
As Kragen was administering his Healer Kit, notices that Trolkarl has sustained far more significant injuries than originally thought.

”My friend, I know your wounds are still serious. Use the Potion I gave you so we can both save our spells for what’s to come. I fear we will need all our power at our disposal. I have heard of these foul creatures and their power, our resolve and capability will be tested today.”
Starker:”I recall a guest lecturer tellng us about particularly fell undead and their peculiarities. Let me cast my mind back to recall what ue said about liches and their spirit vessels.”

Starker and Cyrus begin the physical, intellectual, and dimensional calisthenics required to detect magic, focused on the boxes-o-corpse things.
A common form of phylactery was a sealed metal box, from the size of a fist to 6 inches (15 centimeters) wide. Inside of this were strips of parchment bearing magical phrases and sigils written in silver or the would-be lich's blood; these were the spells of naming and binding, dark magic, and immortality that maintained the lich's existence. However, a phylactery could be any number of things, such as a ring or amulet, provided it had an interior space in which such writings could be placed.
The sarcophagi in the burial chamber do not radiate magic.
Starker quote: "A lich’s mist valued possession is its spirit repository. I wonder if the silver box in the other room is that vessel?”
Chadwick's reply: "While we definitely need to get it open and check, I feel like he would have had more guards in the room with one of his phylacteries."
After Starker and Cyrus finish their spell.
"Any spell we want to cast before heading in?" After the party figured out what to cast...
"Well time to spring some traps!" Chadwick saunters through the large doors whistling an obnoxiously cherry tune and heads to the sarcophagi on the south side. He keeps his eyes on the octopus head things. It's not paranoia when inanimate objects really do spring to life and attack you on the regular.
He'll check for mundane traps and any key holes. He'll give the others a chance to also check, then he'll try and open it by pushing the lid to the east.
Investigation: 2 (at this point I'm not even mad about these rolls, it fits the character.)
The lid of the sarcophagus slides open to reveal the remains of a long dead person. It is a human female corpse in rotted fine silks. She has a veil covering her face. Jewels and jewelry are seen on her.

Chris mentioned he was going to be out of pocket, but he wanted to heal Trolkarl. After that occurs Chadwick will peer through the now a jar door.

Looking to Yartol
Oh he will return cross either way. I will make it up to him letting him have an emotional outlet before too long.
Thank you Kragen.
Trolkarl drinks the potion of greater healing. When. Kragen mentions it. 8+4=12

Chadwick peers into the burial chamber beyond. Kragen tends to Trolkarl. Yartol stands, wondering what he has gotten himself into.
