We were able to bypass the noise issue back on Bral during our warehouse breaking and ent... hmmm... project to rescue the kidnapped fair lady, by combining a silence spell with the knock.
That bleeds us of spells faster here. But to Starker's point of our last use of knock and the gong sound, it could potentially save resources by not needing to fight every wandering monster within a hundred yards.
"If you’d like the noisy version, I can sing the door open with Knock this minute—but my vote is tools → Silence+Knock/Dispel → Heat+crowbar, and we leave the fog-arch for last with proper wards up. Your call, Sir Chadwick; I’ll tune to whichever door you point me at.”
Xymox hesitates a moment, then continues. "Could their be a hidden or secret key for the four-flanged rod?"
“Alright, I’m going to romance this very ordinary lock with my very ordinary thieves’ tools. Expectations low, eyebrows ready. Everyone take two polite steps back—if it opens, I’ll pretend I meant it.”

Dex check: 14+4 (+3 prof.) = 21.
Which door?
With an audible click, Xymox finds success in unlocking the door.
Xymox gives an exaggerated bow to Chadwick. "After you, sir."
Starker:”Excellent! I always regret mundane doors I Knock. Your abilities to persuade mechanical locks and audiences alike are excellent complements to my abilities to incinerate them.”
Chadwick gives Xymox an extremely formal bow ""Why thank YOU sir!" Then proceeds through the door while saying over his shoulder while laughing "This is most definitely going to suck." While dancing a jig through the door.
Kragen looks at Xymox. “Well done Xymox, your capabilities continue to surprise this humble servant of Tyr.”
Then seeing Sir Chadwick curtsey through the door, follows shaking his head, with his eyes rolling behind those tinted googles.
The door opens to reveal a small vestibule with the same black marble with ropy tendrils of fire writhing below the surface. Xymox: “I charm the doors; you flambé what’s behind them. Division of labor, maestro.” “Remind me to rhyme lock with Knock in a cautionary ballad.”
Xymox: “I strive to be predictably useful and only occasionally sinful. But, if you keep complimenting me like that and I may even tithe.”
Starker:”Right on.”
Chadwick enters the room looking around and pleasantly surprised he hasn't gotten his noodle zapped yet.
"It's going to be kind of funny if the ogre's key was just something left over from its previous life and doesn't fit anything."
He'll go through his poking and proding routine, then try the iron key in door.
Chadwick approaches the door at the end of the room. When he is 10' feet away the floor of the room falls out from underneath him. More specifically, the entire floor of the room rotates on a central axis in the center of the. This is in front of the door you entered through. Do we hear a thud or any voice? Any notion of how far we think he dropped?
