You learn something about Yartol here. That dude is fast. He covers the ground between him and the Guardian, uses a bonus action to cast Hunter's Mark, draws both swords and attacks the Guardian. Short sword to hit = 11 and 14. Both miss. He follows with an attack by his scimitar for 4 slashing damage plus 5 force damage.
The Guardian attacks Chadwick, punching with his ice covered fists, to hit = 9 and 21. One hits for 9 bludgeoning and 7 cold damage.
Chadwick continues to strike at the construct with his adamantine longsword with mixed effectiveness. It is steadily being chipped away. Starker's Chromatic Orb narrowly misses it with no effect.
Xymox slips back into the chamber, shadow-cloak trailing like spilled ink across the cold marble. His crimson eyes fix upon the hulking, frost-wreathed Guardian as his lips curl into a sardonic smile.
“Stone and ice—hardly original. Let’s see how you look dressed for the stage, hm?”
With a flourish, he sweeps his violin bow through the air, tracing shimmering glyphs that burst into a spray of violet-green flames. The spectral fire clings to the Guardian’s massive frame, outlining every icy ridge and granite joint in stark brilliance.
Cast:Faerie Fire (Dex save vs spell DC).
On failure: the Guardian glows with ethereal light, every strike against it guided true.
On success: the flames gutter and slide off, but the bard’s mocking smirk never fades.
The bard turns his gaze to Trolkarl, the warlock bristling with Darkbane in his grip.
“Ah, Ravenshield—if ever there were a time for your infamous aim, it is now. Consider this a spotlight, and the stage is yours.”
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration on Trolkarl.
Effect: Trolkarl may add 1d8 to an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check.
Xymox lowers his bow to the strings, a single thrumming note lingering in the air, equal parts challenge and encouragement. (I believe that Chadwick still has Bardic Inspiration as well.)
The notes from Xymox's violin stream forth, fueled by the scrape of the bow across strings. They hiss and snarl across the room to encase the Guardian in an eerie green aurora. Its form now outlined in enchanted fire, its moves presaged by the glow. ((Attacks on the Guardian now at Advantage.))
Trolkarl and Chadwick now both have Bardic Inspiration to use at their disposal. Add 1d8 to any roll to use it.
An emboldened Trolkarl strikes the construction with a critical hit. He then channels his Eldritch power through Darkbane to augment the strike. He then draws upon the inspiration of Xymox, striking again. 46 total damage.
Fine cracks begin to appear all over the construct. Its movement slows. With a tremendous clatter of stones on tile it collapses into a pile of fine rubble.
Yartol kicks at the pile with a booted foot, scattering pieces across the room.
"Shall we continue with our attempt to open the chests now that this trap has been sprung?", "We clearly did not have the right pattern for the gems and sconces... any other ideas?"
"We also have those other 2 doors in the other room we need to investigate."
Looks around at the others
<note to GM, Kragen has Protection from Energy (cold) active right now with a duration of 1 hour minus that last round>
You see Kragen return and inspect the area in which the statue was standing.
finding nothing new (rolled a 2), he stands there.
Starker picks up EmFer’s Chastisement and he and Cyrus join the others, examining the wall the statue had been standing in front of.
“Well done, The Company, especially our fell Warlock!
” We have four jewels, four sconces, and four chests. But hold a moment as I see what our former foe was standing in front of , perhaps another portal?”
investigation = 28
”Sir Chadwick, you are welcome to this potion of healing or a session with the gentle ministering wasps.”
The wall behind the statue appears to be a wall like the others. At the mention of the four gems, you look to the table. All four remaining gems have turned black and cracked into many pieces.
Two of the chests have typical appearing locks and key holes, # 1 & 3. #2 has the four pronged key frozen inside of it. #4 has a hemispherical depression where a key hole would be.
Trolkarl engages. Two misses with Darkbane.
Kragen to act.
Kargen, perched above the sconce, freezing from the cold blast. Quickly pulls a scroll from his pocket.
Begins reading from the Scroll and then says a quick prayer to Tyr. Once his reading is complete, the scroll disintegrates in his hands.
Scroll: Protection from Energy (Cold)
Stands on the wall, hustles down 5' transitioning to the floor and then over to engage the creature.

Xymox recovers his vision.
Chadwick to act
Chadwick is muttering to himself, he seems annoyed about the whole situation.
Attack 1: 26 to hit, 9 dam (yes that was 2d10 +4)
Attack 2: 14 to hit, 21 dam (great damage, for a miss lol)
BA, drinks a healing potion for 8 (I did not update HP)
Starker:”Fascinating. I would have thought that fire would be more effective. Perhaps this will shake his stony heart.”
Casts Chromatic Orb (Thunder, L1) at former statue
To hit 16, damage 17 (thunder)
runs away even further.
<Starker heads around corner, dropping staff in the hope that it makes the door remain open>
Chadwick continues to strike at the construct with his adamantine longsword with mixed effectiveness. It is steadily being chipped away. Starker's Chromatic Orb narrowly misses it with no effect.
Xymox, now can see, next to act.

Trolkarl to act.
With Xymox's tune filling his ears and Darkbane in his hands, Trolkarl lashes out at the illuminated guard.
To hit: 21 27, damage: 17 slashing + will use eldritch smite for 16
and 16,4 for 13 slashing
Using Bardic Inspiration to add another +5 to the 2nd attack for a total of 21

The wall behind the statue appears to be a wall like the others. At the mention of the four gems, you look to the table. All four remaining gems have turned black and cracked into many pieces.
Starker:”Perhaps I exagerated the number of gems …”
Looking at Starker. "Should we try the chest again? Specifically the one it appeared you had the key for?"
"Chadwick, can you present the other key found downstairs to see if it might be a fit for one of the unique chests?"
assuming Chadwick provides, looks the key over and holds up to each chests lock mechanism for a fit (besides the four pronged chest)
Two of the chests have typical appearing locks and key holes, # 1 & 3. #2 has the four pronged key frozen inside of it. #4 has a hemispherical depression where a key hole would be.
Taking the key, from Chadwick (i believe he has a key from downstairs?), to chest #1, Kragen attempts to open.
The key fits into the lock and opens the chest. Inside you find:
300 gp
Several diadems, 4 gold, 2 platinum, 1 silver. All engraved with “Illiandil” in elvish.
Five iron flasks covered in glyphs and sigils
