Starker’s spell strikes the mummy and it promptly erupts into flames. It roars in anger and disappears in a cloud of swirling sand.
A moment later it reappears in a new vortex of sand, beside Trolkarl. Chadwick and Trolkarl succeed their DC15 CON saves. Xymox fails and is now blinded.
The mummy is taken aback by Chadwick's unleashed fury. It attacks Starker again with the negative energy blast, to hit = 19 for 26 damage. It then uses the staff in a new way, a purple field of energy encompassing it. Damage inflicted seems to have been repaired.
Kragen mutters about a "Foul Mummy", then palms The Scales of Justice (Holy Symbol) and shoves it towards the Undead. "Back to the depths of Hell, Undead beast!"
Channels Tyr's divinity at the Mummy, enveloping it in a orange haze.

You present your Holy Symbol and censure Undead creatures. Each Undead of your choice within 30 ft. of you must make a DC 14 Wis. saving throw. If the creature fails its save, it has the Frightened and Incapacitated conditions for 1 minute, and for that duration, it tries to move as far from you as it can on its turns.

Whenever you use Turn Undead, any Undead that fails its saving throw takes 3d8 Radiant damage. This damage doesn’t end the turn effect.

The mummy uses the staff to cast Summon Undead and calls forth an Undead Spirit (Putrid) beside Starker. It then uses its Channel Negative Energy to fire a bolt at Trolkarl, to hit = 18 for 28 necrotic damage.
The undead spirit attacks Starker, to hit = 17 for 14 slashing damage and to hit = 16 for 10 slashing damage. Starker is rendered unconscious with 0HP.
"WHAT GOOD IS YOUR STAFF NOW, MORTAL? YOUR SOUL WILL FEED THE PHYLACTERY TO ELEVATE THE MASTER!"
As a Bonus Action, you can heal yourself or one creature you can see within 60 feet of yourself, expending dice from the pool. The maximum number of dice you can expend at once equals your Charisma modifier (minimum of one die). Roll the dice you expend, and restore a number of Hit Points equal to the roll’s total. Starker coughs up a little spot of blood and comes to lying on the floor. Cyrus is at Starker’s head rubbing his temples with monkey paws.
Darkbane finds purchase twice on the mummy. Its eyes flare as it howls a blood curdling shriek. The mummy’s limbs fall off and it collapses in upon itself into a pile of sand. The staff clatters to the stone floor.
Starker rasps out:”That heap of malice held together by rags and rage was clearly afraid of fire. Someone please find the heart and crush it and burn the fragments and burn the corpse unless we want to risk its return.”
”Would someone please bring me the staff so I can identify it?
”Also <pointing>, on that desk are two scrolls I would like to read.
“… <coughs, spits up more blood, tries to stand up, falls, crawls over to nearest wall and sits slumpingly against it> …
”I think will sit here a while.”
”One last thing, the premature triumphant cackling indicated that Illiandal had not yet been able to complete the rites to make himself a lich when last the mummy had information on the topic. Or perhaps I hallucinated that as I was walking towards the light?”
The undead spirit disappeared with the destruction of its summoner.
Starker raves….
Examination of the table show coins of all types covering them, gold bars, silver bars and copper bars. There are two rolled up scrolls of vellum, an ivory plaque with engravings, a beautiful burl wood box with golden hardware, a short bow, quiver full of arrows, dagger, longsword and four large darts with blue fletching.
Kragen hustles over to the slumping Mage, kneels next to him and pulls his healers kit from his backpack. Begins groping and examining Starkers wounds, administering ointments and bandages.
Starker benefits from Kragens attention. Battle Medic utilize action. Gain 1 hit point dice +3
Then grabs his head between his stubby hands and completes a prayer to Tyr.
Cure Wounds L3. Starker regains 35hp of healing
Muttering “Foul undead”, then tends to Cyrus to make sure he was not molested.
The scrolls both have magical writing upon them. The box is a lustrous wooden box of exquisite workmanship. The staff is carved of dark wood with skull and bone engraving. It is clearly enchanted.
The ivory plaque has a series of arrows and symbols engraved upon it.

Xymox will disengage and move backwards. Then attempt to crawl up the wall.
Xymox retreats once the lights go out. He is able to back into the corner and ascend the wall behind him. Once up to the ceiling, his vision returns.
The mummy points his staff at Starker, firing a bot of necrotic energy towards the wizard. To hit = 16 for 24 necrotic damage. *Laughs*
Chadwick to act.
Chadwick glares at his halberd after missing so badly on his last attack. Then grunts in surprise when the mummy disappears then reappears behind him.
"You nasty little shit" he says in a rare display of swearing on common. Those closer to him hear him mutter "sorry ma".

Xymox drops lightly from the ceiling, dusting off a bit of sand that dares cling to his cloak.
“Well. That was charming,” he says dryly. “Blinded, blasted at, and shrieked at by a bundle of angry linens. Illiandil truly spares no expense.”
He nods once toward Trolkarl and Starker.
“Thank you for keeping our wizard from becoming staff polish.”
Then, with a sweep of his hand toward the darkened passage ahead:
“Let’s move quickly before another wrapped corpse tries to redecorate us. Time’s wasting—and liches don’t kill themselves.”
Yartol clears his throat quietly. “I’m no expert on the topic,” he adds, “but I believe ending his mortal life is part of the process…”
