Chadwicks heavy armor creaks and scrapes loudly as he creeps down the hall. Trolkarl doesn’t fare much better. There is an orc guard standing in a dimly lit doorway ahead that leads to the stairs. “Who is it? Show yourselves!,” he calls out with an axe at the ready.
Starker reminds the folk still in the room that there were several guards posted around the corridor when we came through last, including one to our left (South).
Chadwick and Trolkarl will step forward and speak in best best commanding voice... "Hold it down! Are things cleared up here? Duren and the thing downstairs" holds fingers in front of his face like tentacles "told us to be discreet. Now make sure we are clear to move to the street. And let's be professional so none of us have to answer for screwing this up."

I honestly don’t know. I would think if they are around mages or have any arcana maybe give them a chance to know. But your world your cll on this one I think

---I wrote out a melee attack before looking at map. Looks like Chadwick can't reach him, unless he got a reaction attack. I don't think it was, but will leave it here just in case.

The roll and damage I believe should both be one higher if the +1 applies to the non-slashy end.
---Assuming Chadwick wasn't able to do a melee attack he'll move up, then chuck a hand axe and dagger.
Loud whisper: "Trolkarl, DUCK!" Then proceeds with his favorite new thing of throwing axes at heads.
Hand axe to hit:16 dam: 7
Dagger: 16, dam: 6
In case the others didn't pick up on Trolkarl's yell, he'll start frantically waving them towards the staircase.
The orc crumples to the ground and tumbles down the steps to land in a heap st the bottom. Its axe clatters down the steps as well. Trolkarl successfully dodges the orc and avoids falling as well.
Chadwick will dislodge his axe from the orcs head and dagger from its back. He does a quick glance back to make sure the others are following, then moves quickly upstairs. Saying to Trolkarl "Let me take point, we're probably gonna take fire when we poke our heads up."
At least if the orc had a two handed axe it'll make a nice upgrade for Hoid over the quarterstaff.
Kragen, hearing the commotion of combat, Sheppards Lady Arin behind him, putting her between him and Hoid/Gnueman. During the process of shepparding, he casts Guidance on her (active for 1 min).
”Stay close Lady Stormrider, trouble ahead.”
to Hoid/Gnueman “Fighting in the hall, we may have to fight our way out.”
then bolts (at least that’s how he pictures it) to follow the noise. When through the storeroom door, looks left to ensure nothing that way and then continues on to the stairs to the Octagon.
Sounds good, but Starker still thinks sending Chadwick, Trokarl, and Cyrus ahead a little bit makes sense. Give them a minute or two lead at least.
