Stellos considers, “Well, you may okay. Stay alert though. Which inn are you going to, then? I recommend somewhere in High Town. At least unwanted visitors will stand out.”
(( The Prancing Pony is in high town. Gohumbee waits for you there as well as Mallinora. And all of your left behind gear.))
Gneuman says under his breath to his comrades nearby, "I don't trust any of the actors involved anymore." "We need to proceed with caution, if we are to proceed at all."
Stellos thanks you and has one of the stewards show you out. "Thank you for all you have done and the information provided. I expect to be able to send your documents back to you this evening. Shall we plan for a meeting at the Prancing Pony at Day's End? (This is about 6PM on Bral). If the palace can be of any assistance to you, please send word." Your weapons are returned to you and you are now outside the palace grounds ready to cross the bridge that spans Lake Bral.
I think the first order of business is finding out when we can get off this rock. And when (if) we will get paid as a second order of business. Prancing Pony should hold an answer to at least the first.
The Prancing Pony is a welcome sight. Good news about the trip there is that you no longer see the two people following you from the temple to the palace any longer. Better news is that you are arriving around lunch time. Fresh made chicken pies with turnip and rutabaga are served with steaming bowls of garlicky greens. Good ale and wine as well. The innkeeper informs you that your rooms are remain clean and baths can be prepared if you wish. Gohumbee comes downstairs to find you mid-meal and runs over to Trolkarl, hugging him before regaining his composure, "I was fearing the worst, my lord." The innkeeper also delivers a message for you from Mallinora and the Astral Elven Armada. Mallinora is at the docks most days and returns at nightfall. An Astral Elven High Captain Allinar wishes to meet with you at your convenience. He has arranged for a runner to be available when sent for by the innkeeper.
Starker:”I will be in my room doing some important work. Please send for me when anyone comes or when we are ready to leave.
“Innkeeper: I would like to purchase a thick glass jar with a re-sealable lid. The jar should be large anough and the mouth wide enough to allow, say, a moderate sized grapefruit to be placed inside. If you have one I would gladly purchase it. If not, perhaps one of your staff could purchase one for me. I would reimburse them and give them a generous payment for their effort. I also need about a quart of the purest refined spirits of alcohol.
Lastly, if a fire could be lit in my room and a large fireproof pot full of water brought thither I would be very grateful. My deepest thanks for your considering these requests.”
He hoists his backpack onto his shoulder, calls for Cyrus to join him, and heads to his room, smiling an unsettling smile.
The innkeeper listens to Starker’s requests, nodding along as each item is listed. “I will send Farkel. He is the most reliable. I think 6 gold coins will take care of the alchemist and glass blower.”
The elven Captain responds himself with an aide shortly after the runner leaves. “On behalf of Xaryxian Empire, Thank You for rendering aid to the Transcedent Treant. We mourn the loss of her crew but rejoice in your saving the living ship. Captain Mallinora detailed the actions and how you boarded at great risk to yourselves. She credits you for the success. A salvage payment is traditional in this situation,” he says and the aide approaches with a case. He sets it on a table and opens it to reveal six trade bars of gold. “Please accept this as a sign of our appreciation,” he bows to you. “As a personal thanks I offer you this,” pulling a gold disc from his pocket that opens to reveal a knob within. “It is an Astral Beacon. Activating it will call the nearest vessel of the Armada to assist you. Please do not use this lightly. All will be dropped to answer such a call. The answering captain has the discretion to request its return after answering.”
A little before Day’s End Starker comes back into the common room, looking tired but proud. His hair, beard, and the fur cuffs of his robe’s sleeves have a fair amount of embedded ivory colored dust and chips flecked with purplish red.
Starker:”Should anyone find themselves in my room do not, I repeat, do not taste the stew simmerring on the fire.”
He orders a pitcher of ale, a big cup and a small cup, and a plate of fruit. He and Cyrus attack the meal with gusto.
“Innkeeper, here are 8 gold pieces for your pains as regards my earlier request. I wonder if there is an honest jeweler you could recommend nearby who could trade us gems for gold.”
The innkeeper does refer you to a nearby jeweler in High Town. They have a good selection and any common gem you would like at the value you would like is available. Add 5% to the price as a commission when purchasing.
Stellos has sent word to you as well. He would like to meet with you personally later this evening.
Thank you, Gohumbee. It was a messy situation. I will share more of the details about our adventure when we are far away from this place. My trusty companions are good company when there is the worst kind of danger. Starker and his fireballs are nice in those situations too.
Did Stellos indicate where he would like to meet? Assuming he sent a messenger, Hoid will tell the messenger that at least he will meet with Stellos and would like to know where he proposes to meet (if not already indicated).

He looks to Ajax, "What do you think?"
“No more mind flayers….or sorcerers,” Ajax responds.
“We can be found at the Prancing Pony. We do not know when our ship departs but it surely will not be sooner than tomorrow.”

“Could you please send for Captain Allinar? We can freshen ourselves in the meantime.”

(( Trade bars added to your character sheets. They are worth 500g. One of you needs to add the Astral Beacon. ))
Astral beacon added to Hoid. If anyone else wants it, say so.
After being ushered out of the palace Chadwick stands for a bit looking back, then sighs and follows the group towards the Prancing Pony.
"Seems a little anticlamatic after all we went through. Plus she didn't even say goodbye." Chadwick kicks a few rocks down the road as they walk.
"However, I am REALLY looking forward to sleeping in a proper bed tonight. And NO armour! Not sure if I'm ever going to get this kink out of my neck."

Trolkarl smiles with the warm greeting from Gumby

Starker: “Thank you, Trokarl. I will certainly remember your way of phrasing that.”
