“It seems my lumbago has dissipated. Kragen, do you still need help with that wall? Can someone keep an eye on, or perhaps sit on, Brunel-not-Alamnal?”
On his way to help Kragen Hoid remarks, “Lord Grammal, is that the star witness from earlier? I’m no barrister, but recent events would seem to raise questions about the reliability of the testimony we heard earlier. Is there another Alamnal we need to find? If so, I hope, for the benefit of my compatriots that owe allegiance to Tyr in the sake of justice, that the real Alamnal, and any testimony he may provide, has not been besmirched by what occurred today.
Kragen, let’s have a look at this wall and stone that moved. If no tools are forthcoming, we may be forced to denigrate The Judge for this task. But first, let us see if we can manipulate the stone without tools.”
The dwarves confer about the stone wall. There is a loose brick that protrudes slightly. The wall is poorly made with weak mortar. The butt of a staff or pole arm would likely knock bricks loose.
The Knights keep watch over their Inquisitor. Garrent continues to watch all unfold that he can. Garrod moves down the hallway. Grammal seems stupefied by all that has taken place. Gneuman follows the MMM to Starker.
Grammal shakes out of it a bit with Hoid’s words, “That is…was…Alamnal. How is Brunel here now? What is happening?”
Chadwick ponders out loud to who's behind the wall (and not because the narrator has been day drinking).
"So who's behind the wall? Nimnal, the real Almanal?
My guess is Almanal because Brunel was jealous of his rise and station so walled him and took his place. He needed to keep him around for information only a long lived Drow would have.
Guessing that he was a co-conspirator who also knew of Almanal's murders to gain power."
He pokes Brunel with his glaive, but not hard enough to draw blood.
"Once we wake him it'll be an interesting day of questions. Assuming my lord won't have any objections to 'parlor tricks' to detect lies?"
Chadwick moves five feet north to stay near Brunel in case he pulls a fast recovering mage and makes a break for it, but also keeping an eye on Hoid and Kragen in case the narrator was (probably) wildly wrong and instead contains undead.
Hoid aims the staff at the loose brick, bringing the butt end of it down hard. The brick depresses and falls on the other side of the wall with a ‘thunk’ as it hits the ground.
Starker (still cowering behind the statuary): “If there is anything flammable in there I can provide light. Light and heat. Light, heat, and havoc. … Upon second thought, perhaps an alternative method should be attempted.”
“It seems my lumbago has dissipated. Kragen, do you still need help with that wall? Can someone keep an eye on, or perhaps sit on, Brunel-not-Alamnal?”
Kragen chuckles at the slumped figured formally known as “Alamnal”.
”Be happy to have some help Brother… nice work with the human!” “Apparently that Lumbago has healed nicely.” Smirks
Returns to the wall at hand and the best appproach to dismantle.
Good work, Hoid!
Brunel is one of the house staff...
turns from Brunel to stare at Grammal
...simple and no doubt easily manipulated.
Looking back to Hoid at the wall.
I also saw movement in one of those blocks earlier as well. Be cautious- we have uncovered the decoy but the deceiver still lingers.
Grammal stands still, looking from Brunel to Hoid to Trolkarl and back again. Garrod sees Brunel go down and kneels to his side to help him.

Starker whispers to Gneuman:”If things should turn ugly shall I turn you invisible?”

Hoid will borrow Starker’s staff to attack the deviant brick.
"The butt of a staff or pole arm"
If that is a request from the dwarves Chadwick will head down the corridor and see about loosening the previously mentioned bricks.
Starker to Hoid:”Careful of the mindflayer’s skull.”
Hoid aims the staff at the loose brick, bringing the butt end of it down hard. The brick depresses and falls on the other side of the wall with a ‘thunk’ as it hits the ground.
There is now a brick-sized hole in the wall.
Is anything visible through the brick-sized hole?
Gneuman to Starker in draconic, "What is going on with CM?"
Starker to Gneuman in Draconic:”I wanted him to get you over here in case things got ugly and you wanted me to turn you invisible.”
"Understood. I also have Ajax on high alert."
Only darkness
Dark vision not effective?
Can anyone cast light?
If no to both, Hoid will try to find more bricks to remove and ask for tools to expedite the process.
Starker (still cowering behind the statuary): “If there is anything flammable in there I can provide light. Light and heat. Light, heat, and havoc. … Upon second thought, perhaps an alternative method should be attempted.”
If the missing brick is low, Trolkarl will try to peer through using devils sight
You can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.
